Extra's: There really weren't a lot of extras to speak of this time; a surprising state of affairs for a flagship title set to open a company's offerings. Granted, the 11.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Kristie Love offered some solid interviews and photoshoot opportunities but that was the only one I cared about as the photogallery and popshot recap really aren't much to write home about these days unless your movie lasts over three hours. I hope to see more in the future considering that gonzo is a competitive field and others are doing so much more.

Audio/Video Quality: Alone In The Dark was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Juan Cuba for The Candy Shop/Red Light District. The lighting was solid in almost all cases, leading to minimal grain and video noise. There could have been better fill lighting on the men at times but the dark skin tones compared to the far lighter skin of the ladies was probably difficult for the director to get right. Still, the composition of the shots was reasonably well done and that enhanced the look of the ladies in most cases that the emphasis wasn't on capturing a particular sex trick. The fleshtones were accurate in most cases and there were no compression artifacts observed during my viewing of the title. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English but I heard no separation between the channels and some of the vocals were on the low side for me. Turning up the volume to hear portions better resulted in elevating background noises and hum so this is an area Juan can improve next time.

Body of Review: The Candy Shop is the new kid on the block as a production company, focusing on interracial and black-on-black gonzo sex, to be distributed by Red Light District and headed up by the infamous Michael Stefano. Their first release is Alone In The Dark, a gangbang flick directed by Juan Cuba, starring superstar performer Hillary Scott and a couple of others as they sought to impress fans with their sexual prowess. If this is what you enjoy watching, you're going to appreciate all they had to offer, though for me, the first scene with Hillary was the only replayable one of the bunch. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used at all:

Scene One: Hillary Scott, best known these days for her status as an anal princess as well as being crowned the new Britney Rears, was up first as she masturbated while watching Tee Reel, Dwayne Cumminz, Ace, Jean-Claude Batiste, Tone Capone, and Lee Bang, playing basketball on the court below. She shined far and away above the other two who, while cute in their way, were not really working for me. If you like the ultra lean type of gal, Sierra and Alexa might appeal more to you but they showed lots of energy without chemistry; limiting the value of their work in most ways. I rated Alone In The Dark as a Rent It though if you like the entire female cast and interracial gangbangs, you'll want to get a copy for yourself as it had that in spades (pun intended). Check it out and you'll see what I mean as the ladies did their thing to the best of their abilities.
