Audio/Video Quality: Return of the Cheerleader Nurses was presented in the originally filmed 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Jim Holliday (though credited to Bionca) for VCA Pictures (shot concurrently with Cheerleader Nurses 1) back in 1993. The picture was blurry more than a few times, relied on a sense of raw energy rather than technical expertise, and had a wonderfully diverse cast as seen on the back of the DVD cover. The fleshtones were a bit washed out and occasionally out of focus but fans of classic porn understand the limitations of the genre at least as well as I do so take the rating with a grain or ten of salt. The audio was presented in the usual Dolby Digital stereo English but the vocals appeared to be looped in a few cases, the dialogue slightly out of synch at times, and it sounded hollow more often than not. The music was trademark Jim Holliday style as provided by Double Vision, perhaps an early iteration of Reno & the Rum Runners, with intermittent music punctuating the scenes from time to time.

Body of Review: Jim Holliday may be gone from this mortal coil but his legacy lives on through the scores of great porn titles he left behind over the years. Few people understood his work in the industry but fans routinely sought his movies out, even if he rarely achieved the kind of critical acclaim he seemed to seek (for all his bluster about it on various commentary tracks, it was clear he had issues with professional critics being less appreciative then fans). As I continue to check out his older works, I found that his lesbian orgy sequences to still hold up really well compared to what you can find on the shelves today, with Return of the Cheerleader Nurses having one that I still fondly recall after so many years (no small feat in the disposable world of porn). The sequel to Cheerleader Nurses 1, the story elements continued the silly antics of the nursing world as the cast fucked and sucked their way silly through their educational program. The cover said it like this: "Welcome back to the Burton Allen Institute- where ambitious young ladies train to be more than just nurses--they train to be Cheerleader Nurses. Join our all-star canst of voluptuous vixens as they vamp their way to vocational Valhalla in this sensual sequel from the one and only Jim Holliday. Catch it before the National Health Plan goes into effect!" That said, here's a look at the scenes, noting that cast ID's weren't provided and no condoms were bothering the viewer here:

Scene Four: Debi Diamond, the blonde on the right hand side of the front DVD cover, was up next in a solo scene after talking on the phone to Jim Holliday (in a cameo role). Summary: Return of the Cheerleader Nurses was better than Cheerleader Nurses 1 and one that director (credited or not) Jim Holliday long held as indicative of his work so while it suffered from some of the same limitations all porn made years prior to the DVD format seems to, Return of the Cheerleader Nurses was worth a rating of Recommended for the kind of added spark it offers the modern viewer. It certainly didn't hurt to have Tiffany Mynx looking as fine as she did but the other gals were working the meat pipe so well too that dismissing their efforts would be a mistake. The technical values were much like all older porn, the extras weak, and the strength of the movie derived largely from the raw energy of the cast.
