Extra's: The second disc of extras was where the movie really tended to shine given kind of limited options of the main feature. In order; it started off with a bonus anal scene in multi-angle with Bobbi as the persona (see below). It lasted about 9 minutes and showed Bobbi looking fine as she provided two options (oral and anal). It ended when she jerked off her partner to completion with her tongue the recipient of the small pop shot. This was followed by a Vixen oriented tease scene lasting about 4 minutes as she spanked herself and showed her ass off to the world with a lot of dirty talk. There was then a five minute shot of Bobbi doing ass tease but there was a disclaimer telling the viewer that the other camera angle messed up and the guy's head was in the way, making it worthless so this wasn't used in the movie. There was then a 7 minute long interview with Bobbi but it was more of an infomercial at first where she discussed her comic book, her website (at length), and a story about her time with a cobra (the deadly snake) where she was scared shitless. There was then a Vixen interview lasting about a minute where she felt herself up and talked shit about her Bobbi persona. This was followed by what could arguably be considered the best extra of the whole set as Bobbi was in a 15 minute long solo scene where she covered herself with food (chocolate sauce, whipped cream, etc.) and got all covered in the stuff in the kitchen while a droning techno-beat music track covered the vocals (footage courtesy of Flashbox). There was then a section of Bloopers and Outtakes though it was really a section of short clips of her having fun and teasing; including a bit where she used a vibrator on the guy's ass (and it wasn't Kurt Lockwood either). It only lasted about 4 minutes but it was kind of edgy at times and an expanded section in future releases could be a good idea. There were then a couple of photogalleries (one for each persona), a text biography that didn't say much, and a bunch of trailers to other virtual sex offerings by Metro as well as a selection of titles from Playhouse Platinum, with a true double sided DVD cover as well.

Audio/Video Quality: Virtual Dreams With Bobbi Eden was presented in the standard 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Mark Cremona for distribution by Metro Interactive. The lighting was okay but the picture itself seemed a little on the grainy side with some minor video noise a pain at times. The camera work was fairly straightforward and Bobbi seemed to glow in most of her scenes. There were two camera angles on tap for fans to enjoy with a POV (point of view) angle and a medium shot to select as you like with accurate fleshtones and limited amounts of compression artifacts observed in my viewing of the two discs the show came on. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English with no separation and limited dynamic range but devoid of most background noise and other noticeable flaws.

Body of Review: In the world of sex simulators there seems to be a growing number of companies that want to make use of the format as a means of boosting sales. The idea of the genre is a lot like the POV craze where a fan can pop a DVD into his player and then select what kind of action you want to see (a slight step up from picking your favorite scene in a movie). All of this is due to the advances in technology that started with the CD ROM and got better with DVD as both formats allowed near instant access to a selection whereas tape did not. The latest of these is from Metro Interactive called Virtual Dreams With Bobbi Eden. For those of you living in a cave the last ten years, she's the hot blonde from the Netherlands featured on the front DVD cover that has starred and/or performed in scores of porn flicks over the years. Other companies offering this type of show include Vivid's Virtual Vivid With Sunny Leone, Digital Sin's My Plaything series, Digital Playground's Virtual Sex series, Anarchy's Playing With series, and the newly established Zero Tolerance getting in on the action with the heated Interactive Sex series as outlined in a recent Blue Room Column written by yours truly. In short, the genre is expanding for lots of reasons and as a showcase for a particular performer; they each have their strengths and weaknesses. Here's a quick look at the options you'll find on this two disc set:

Okay, after the movie gives you the choice between picking Bobbi or her alter ego, Vixen De Ville, the movie goes into a clip. With Bobbi, she's waiting at a bus stop and gets invited inside by the uncredited POV male. With Vixen, the camera pans to her half naked and masturbating in some fetish attire in a rundown dive of a room. The screen then offers up the choice of the two personalities (upper right hand corner) as well as the sub-categories for the action as follows, noting that you can always pick from a POV camera angle or a wider shot that lets you see her in the context of her surroundings and you can always just let the show play out in real time rather than pick a sub group:

Tease: This is broken into two groups, tits and pussy. Her firm, all natural breasts are always a delight to behold and her tight little cookie wasn't bad either (she correctly identifies it as her "treasure"). The Vixen mode has her referring to Bobbi in a derogatory manner as she rubs herself in her chain mail fetish top and slapping her pussy but the shy, demure Bobbi version had a lot of appeal too in this ~21.5 minute long opener.

Masturbate: This is broken into three groups; Fingers, Dildo, and 2 Toys (a technical DP). As Bobbi, she wears her white outfit and matching lingerie while in her Vixen mode, she keeps the fetishware outfit on with the smaller red anal plug and larger toy rammed up her pussy. You can choose to have her orgasm and this scene lasts a bit over 32 minutes.

Foreplay: This time, the program deviates a little bit with Bobbi having a guy use a Dildo on her, 2 Toys, and doing a Blowjob on the hairy man while Vixen has the Dildo, Fingers, and a Blowjob option. This section lasts about 25 minutes (keeping in mind that with two camera angles, this doubles the length of time for fans to enjoy).

Sex: This option provides three positions; Missionary, Cowgirl, and Doggy for both personas, lasting about 14.5 minutes (stopping short of the ending bit of time on the clock for some reason). It wasn't the most awe inspiring set of options but she's so fine that I can see where her fans would love this.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of the genre myself but Bobbi is so gorgeous and gives a solid performance here that I couldn't help but rate it as Recommended. The extras were what sealed the deal for me but the general quality of the show, for all its little flaws, was pretty high and fans of Bobbi could do far worse than see her have sex with some nameless cretin for three hours. I would have liked more positions and more variety but this was a nice entry into the field by Metro, who apparently picked up the title from another company overseas to distribute domestically as their own. I hope the next ones are even better.

Summary: Virtual Dreams With Bobbi Eden was a well rounded selection of clips starring the attractive young lady and she carries the premise well. It might not have been as technologically advanced as the recent release of Virtual Vivid With Sunny Leone but Metro Interactive should be praised for trying something new. The levels of fuck for the buck, the extras, and the splendid choice of subject matter all helped elevate the rating to a Recommended with fans needing to consider this a must have. If you like sex simulators with lots of material and longer than average scenes, Virtual Dreams With Bobbi Eden will be well worth looking (and stroking off) to.
