Extra's: The best extra was clearly the 13.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature shot by former director Mickey Ray (who used to do a great job shooting them for Simon Wolf Productions before a shake up at the company left him out of a job). It had some great tease footage of the ladies eating ice cream, some interviews, and some extra sex and nudity with a little of the photoshoot shown for good measure. There was also a photogallery and pop shot compilation from the scenes.

Audio/Video Quality: Flavor of the Month was presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen color as shot in HD by director Mark Cashman for release by Fifth Element. This was perhaps the very best work of his that I've seen with the lighting preventing any grain or video noise from entering the picture and the detail provided as a result of the DVD mastering far more than usual. The composition of the shots seemed to enhance the look of the ladies too with decent editing keeping the stray camera work at bay most of the time. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English with little separation but at least a bit of a nod to the ice cream theme in each case. The vocals were decent in all but the last scene (too hollow with echoes) though some of the gals used better dirty talk than others as discussed below.

Body of Review: Mark Cashman has been around porn longer than many of the ladies currently in the industry have been alive to hear his friends talk and that kind of experience often translates into quality porn production, as evidenced by today's review of Flavor of the Month. The idea was to have the ladies sit around and eat ice cream before using it as a sexual aide, with the traditional fantasy of watching them lick the cones providing lots of stroke value. The cover put it like this: "Gia makes a sticky, drippy mess in this steamy, ass reaming anal scene. Sandra likes mint and chip...but she loves Lee Stone's cone in her ass. Enjoy Annie's explosion of juices when she showers Mickey Ray in her own flavor. Forget the sprinkles! The only thing Marie Luvs on her chocolate ice cream is "NUT" Fuck coffee!!! The flavor of the month is Eva Angelina." In all then, it was a lot of fun to watch and fans of ice cream will like it even more then usual. Here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used at all:

Scene One: Vanilla: Gia Paloma, the sweet, smooth, classic gal featured on the upper left hand corner of the front DVD cover, was up first as she licked her ice cream cone in her purple& black lingerie. She teased partner Marco Banderas/Duato and dripped some of the confection on her leg for him to lick off, driving him wild in the process. Scene Three: Chocolate: Marie Luv, a leggy black gal in some appealing lingerie, was up next as she dispensed with the ice cream in favor of going right to the source of fun with muscular Tyler Knight by sucking his dick. The tease was probably the best thing about the theme of the movie though they tried to make up for it with some dirty talk centering on the ice cream lingo (like: "fuck vanilla"). He licked her foot a little for those of you into that kind of thing but in all of the positions they did, he did most of the work as she passively kicked back; drastically weakening the scene as a result. It ended with a pop shot to the reappeared ice cream cone and she ate the cone but that didn't save the thematic aspect of the scene either.

Scene Four: Mint: Sandra Romain, the brunette shown on the upper right hand corner of the front DVD cover, was up next in bed as she ate her ice cream while dressed in her enhancing black lingerie. The massive Lee Stone joined her but the only flavor he was interested in was Romanian as he licked her body all over, getting a taste of the cone but still spending more time on her. Summary: Flavor of the Month was one of the best movies by director Mark Cashman that I've seen (though I haven't had much of an opportunity to review his work, I've seen more than a few titles in the past). It had a splendidly diverse cast, a fun theme, and production values that accentuated the look of the ladies as most of them provided a hot show with stroke and replay value worth discussing. The extras were kind of light and there was a need for more polishing up of a few scenes but I still thought it was worthy of being Recommended. In short, Flavor of the Month will last a lot longer than that for your personal pleasure but it's nice to see that the director was given a chance to really show what he's made of for once; especially with such a solid cast.
