Extra's: The first disc in the set had limited extras, sporting the lengthy (absurdly so I think) photogallery and some trailers. Given the length of the movie though, I wasn't overly concerned with the extras although the second disc did fare better in that regard. The second disc had 32.5 minutes of Behind the Scenes footage by Nate Liquor but that was it. There was a little extra sex and nudity but the emphasis was clearly on the goofy getting ready stuff that humanizes the cast and crew. Travis was hilarious when getting molested by Jenaveve but there were numerous other anecdotes (primarily by Mike) that added some light hearted fun to the DVD set. Lastly, the set was packaged in an oversized box that really looked great considering the ladies on the front cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Girlvana 2 was presented in a very fetching 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen as directed by Mike Quasar for Zero Tolerance. The use of anamorphic display added some detail, especially if watched on a proper set up, but the lighting was solid, the detail great, and the flesh tones accurate with very little grain and no observed compression artifacts. Mike went out of his way to make this look better than my preferred flat and full gonzo lighting preference and I have to hand it to him for showing me the light (so to speak). The composition of the camera shots always enhanced the look of the ladies and I hope he shoots more titles this way in the future, seeing as how much better it looks than usual. The audio was presented in the standard 2.0 Dolby Digital English with the vocals clearly heard and the music appropriate to the scenario established (the first disc had lighter music while the second disc was harder edged in this sense). As always, there was also a Spanish language track to enjoy too but even spot checking it led to think someone was messing with our Spanish speaking friends out there.

Body of Review: Mike Quasar has long been the best director at Zero Tolerance, having been recruited at the company's start up by owner Greg Alves for very good reason years ago. His technical expertise is equal to almost anyone in the industry but it's his eye for what works that truly sets him apart from the horde of wannabe directors that think anyone with a C-light and a camera can be the next porn version of George Lucas. That said, this being the time of year when all the biggest budget titles are released, his blockbuster lesbian flick that has been setting the industry's ears burning, Girlvana 2, is now out and I took a look at it to see if the hype was real or just a bunch of crap as is usually the case. Well, in large part, this was one of the top flicks of the year since it kept true to form throughout the scenes, offering up a couple of different types of scenes for fans to enjoy. The cover said it like this: "What kind of slut are you looking for? Soft and sensual or down and dirty? We've got both on the this 2 disc lesbo love fest where you pick your poison. Experience all-pussy pleasure like never before as you journey to the state of Girlvana! "Good Girls" kiss and play nice. "Bad girls" tear it up and pound each other in the ass with monstrous toys. French kissing, hair pulling, snatch licking, squirting, spitting, and sweet lesbo lovin'. You've achieved ultimate euphoria and there's no turning back! Pick your disc and choose your pleasure, with over 4 hours of Girlvana!" Excusing the mangled English a bit and the fact that the advertised "over 20 girls" seemed a little off (some of the secondary performers weren't credited but I counted 18 ladies), there was a lot of suck for the buck here. That said, here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used and no meat was involved:

Scene One: Angie Savage and Crissy Moran were up first as they looked around a lingerie shop to find just the right outfits to perk up their love lives. They were the two gals on the far left side of the front cover (the blond on top and the brown haired gal below). They started making out in the changing room but left with their purchases and were then seen in the hot tub of a stately residence (nice pool and pool house). They kissed for a very long time, living up to the stated "good girl" focus the first disc of scenes was supposed to have. The light caresses and sheer appreciation of the gals for one another translated into a nice start, getting better as they went inside the house. Their clothes now off, the ladies spent a lot of time probing one another orally and with their fingers, taking it slow for much of the scene but ramping up the action as the passion took them over. They nearly had fisting but it was definitely a "tongue-centric" bit of action that showed they had some chemistry for one another. There were no toys used (they came on the second disc) but it was a nice change of pace from the multitude of movies on the market.

Scene Two: Lexi Love and Darryl Hanah were up next as they started the scenario in a college setting; with one as the student and the other coming across as a teacher or older tutor. The initial lawn setting gave way to a couch with the slow music with the ladies in sexy lingerie as they slowly explored one another. There was some foot fetish material this time but the slower pace and playfulness was clearly evident throughout the scene. The oral was the dominant act with the fingers and caresses somewhat less important this time as the gals took turns pleasing each other. It was at this point that I figured listing the sex acts would prove exceptionally redundant since the disc seemed to be following a particular (though well designed) formula. Needless to say, they each appeared to get off at least once with the women showing a lot of aptitude for lesbian action.

Scene Three: Sativa Rose, Penny Flame, and Dee, were up next in a strip club full of losers; complete with pole, low lighting, and thumping music with many uncredited males and females making out and/or getting lap dances while the leads had some fun on the couch. Penny and Sativa were the aces this time but Dee was looking surprisingly fit given her age with the scenario moving to a more intimate setting before too long. Once in the residence, the trio of twats busied themselves with kisses, caresses, tastes and touches as they slowly undressed and moved over to the bed. Penny was initially a receiver but that didn't remain the case as Sativa warmed her up with some help from Dee. The positions were somewhat limited; more like each gal laying prone on the bed in turns, but I was captivated by the ladies as they slowly did each other to the brink and beyond.

Scene Four: Charlie Laine and Carli Banks, the hotties seen on the front DVD cover (back row: third from the left and front row second from the left beside Penny Flame), were up next as they made out when the parents left the house to have some fun. Charlie was looking like the proverbial million bucks and Carli has never looked better so the way they took their time getting into one another was a sweet sight for sore eyes (and a sore cock for their fans). In any case, the general formula was followed where they spent a fair amount of time savoring the experience rather than rushing through it like they were on a deadline, with the panty shots and other glimpses of heaven adding to the visual delight of the scene. It was slightly shaded in the house to add some measure of texture to their act, working better than usual as Mike seemed to capture the essence of what they were looking for (great lesbian action by gals truly into it).

Scene Five: Katja Kassin, now sporting dark hair (kneeling on the front DVD cover near the middle), and contract hotty Courtney Cummz, were up as the first scene from the second disc that was advertised as being full of bad girls. The primary difference this time was that the gals used toys, seemed a bit more demanding of one another, and showed a lot more passion as they carried out the same scenarios established on the first disc (this scene mimicking scene one for example). I thought that this was a clever idea; allowing for fans of differing types of action to get what they want in the same set. I know I prefer to see the harder action of the bad gals going at it most of the time but the lighter touch of the initial four scenes was also a nice change of pace. Getting both dynamics in a single set allows a fan to have his cake and eat it too (or in this case, pie). The foot fetish angle was more thoroughly explored this time and the hot tub seemed to be the ideal place for the two to play once they were out of the store. There was slapping, spanking, and toys used to liven things up; this time lasting longer as the gals did a lot more. In any case, this was one fine scene with two of the most attractive, talented ladies of porn so whether you beg, borrow, or otherwise obtain a copy, make sure you check this one out repeatedly. Whew!

Scene Six: Gia Jordan, playing the older, wiser, and more experienced lady to younger study bunny Valerie Vasquez, took up the cause of educating her on a couch after the study session on the lawn didn't yield the results the gal was hoping for. Gia dominated the action as expected, taking control of her younger charge with some pretty wild sex as a result. Valerie learned her lessons well and Gia appeared appreciative as her friend had been with the extensive oral and rough edged action here. It wasn't as good as the last scene but it was well worth checking out. Fans of anal toy use will find it especially cool to watch even if the toys were as large as the previous scene; Gia taking all that was offered up easily before the scene ended.

Scene Seven: Jenaveve Jolie, Sammie Rhodes, and Shyla Styles, were next up as they followed the plan from the third scene of the first disc rather well. It still was set up in the house turned into a strip club set with Shyla as the hardened stripper working over the others on the couch and then going home with them. I liked the mope squad and second stringers providing some level of action to make it appear more realistic but the emphasis was always on the primary characters of the scenario (and rightfully so). Jenaveve was the primary hotty of the scene to me; taking charge as she drilled and lead the other two into the harder action. The bedroom antics were such that the scene proved to be nearly equal to the Katja/Courtney scene in terms of dirty fun but the editing seemed slightly looser (almost freehand) this time to me and that altered the passion ever so slightly. Still, it was a great scene with huge stroke value to repeatedly enjoy.

Scene Eight: Nikki Nievez and Jenna Presley were up last as they replayed the parents leaving for parts unknown scenario with the harder edge employed on the second disc. The spanking was immediate and the dirty talk off the charts though I could see why Jenna was on the cover and Nikki was not. In terms of passion and sexual energy, Nikki was the better of the two though, easily dominating her friend as they diddled, sucked, and tore into one another on the couch. If you believe in squirting, Nikki was the gal of the hour here, drenching Jenna's face with her ejaculate before the toys came out. Nikki was better at taking whatever came her way too so the pairing was one of the most unbalanced of the set but still a fine addition since it provided a nice change of pace in that sense.

Summary: Girlvana 2 was one of the best movies by Mike Quasar at Zero Tolerance this year. While I haven't seen everything the guy has made, this was clearly a winner on several levels with great replay and stroke value, some solid energy and chemistry, superior production values, and more fuck for your lesbian loving buck then you'll find on the market today. In short, Girlvana 2 was easily worth a rating of Highly Recommended if you like women who like women having a hot time. Great work Mike!
