Audio/Video Quality: Virtual Sex With Jana Cova was presented in 16:9 anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Joone for Digital Playground. The lighting was somewhat softened this time in an apparent effort to enhance Jana's look that the harsh lights of most virtual sex releases would not handle as well. Personally, I prefer the harsher lights since they allow for the viewer to see every nook and cranny of the gal with crystal clarity but that's a notion that not everyone agrees with (I think Jana's hot enough to pull it off under both circumstances but Joone has a better eye for that kind of thing than I do). There were no compression artifacts and the clips were advertised as being shot on HD (high definition) so perhaps future releases will enhance the visual portions of the movie. The audio was presented in the usual 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround stereo in English. I could hear everything she said and the music in the background of a few sections (tease and stories) was generic enough. There were a couple of spots when selecting a different type of action of the naughty versus nice feature caused the volume to drop off considerably but the general impression I got here was favorable. For the record though, there was little separation between the channels and limited dynamic range but since the vocals all came from a single source (Jana), there probably wasn't a lot that could've changed that fact.

Body of Review: One of the most popular sub-genre's in porn these days is the point of view (POV) offering where the illusion of the gal in the sex scene having sex with the home viewer is elevated through the use of the camera work (providing the mind's eye of the action). Most companies have been offering at least a few such titles, even Digital Playground with the recent release of Jack's POV 3, where director Robby D. shows the world how it's done right. In a variation of the theme, there are two companies that rose to the top of the market in the related virtual sex genre; Digital Playground and Digital Sin (with some others trying to jump in such as Anarchy Films). Each offered up a different way of looking at the subject with the same basic format taking hold and lasting even today, years later, of having a single gal do a variety of acts on camera (more on new developments later). This was likened to the popular videogame experience where you were allowed to follow an adventure with some limited choices of action (often called a "rail" game since you were confined to what amounted to a set of tracks with various forks in the road). Today's review is on the latest effort by director Joone (he wasn't credited but it looked like his established works in the field), with the release of Virtual Sex With Jana Cova.

Before I speak to the genre of show itself, let me discuss the gal in question briefly for those unacquainted. Jana Cova is the deliciously beautiful blonde on the front cover of the DVD case and in the interest of full disclosure, I am one of many fans that adore her; finding her performances to be fresh, exciting, and infinitely stroke worthy. I'd rather be up front about her specific appeal to me since I don't want to mislead any consumers that might not find her as fantastic looking as I do. Her pretty blue eyes, lean but curvy body, sexy Czech accent, and classic face all make her a supreme winner in the genetic lottery as far as I'm concerned. As in all things, I wear my hard-on with pride and make no apologies for this hotty that I've come to know. In short, the genre is expanding for lots of reasons and as a showcase for a particular performer; they each have their strengths and weaknesses.

Here's a brief look at the types of action offered up, noting that the loops for each option could've been longer (always the case for me):

1) Strip: Jana does a limited hip grinding dance to generic music as she talks dirty and plays with herself in a skimpy outfit consisting of a pink bra and panties.

2) Stories: Jana shakes her curvy body to a more upbeat tempo while a voice over talks about some of her fantasies, beginning with a story about a girl in Croatia, moving to her personal taste for rough sex and doggy style and desire for a threesome (with another girl and a guy-I volunteer!).

3) Foreplay: Jana offers up her body for four major types of action, using a female partner as the uncredited assistant. Keep in mind that this had two camera angles, one close and one a medium shot, so that doubled the fun:

This was accompanied by Jana having a spot where she gets oral or has an orgasm. The main weakness of this section is that the attempt to keep the identity of the lady partner a secret led to no actual oral taking place on Jana's lovely pussy. As with other volumes in the series, you could change the dynamic of the action by selecting the "naughty" button, causing Jana to talk dirtier if you like. There were also the two camera angles that were shot at the same time in order to offer true multi-angle visuals. In all, a nice selection of loops to select from for fans of the gal.

4) Sex: Jana gets the hammered from the anonymous female with a strap on dildo. I know some of you are going to complain that you don't want a vegetarian scene but considering that's the only type of sex she has at the moment (on camera at least), this should really come across as no surprise. Okay, the main acts here were:

There was the general option of naughty or nice again and a pop shot button so you could shoot the gal's load at your command. I know that the fake pop shots are the biggest point of contention in the genre. Considering how the sex in this volume takes place with a dildo, a "real" pop shot seems kind of wrong but I have to admit that the pop shot was okay this time since it used something to simulate real semen (perhaps lotion) over the lame CGI pop shots used in the past. In all, this was a nice selection of choices and as much as I'd rather Jana be with a man (as a gentleman, I'd volunteer for the duty as a display to Jana of my affection), perhaps even a real life partner whose identity was not disclosed, I'm enough of a fan of lesbian action to get into this one too.

Summary: Virtual Sex With Jana Cova might not have been the most comprehensive offering in the genre to date but it had enough of lovely young Jana Cova in heated action to warrant a rating of Highly Recommended for fans and at least a close examination of those wanting to check out (no pun intended) the genre and her sexual skills. There were numerous clips of her in action and while I readily admit that her appeal to me is part of the reason the title is rated so high, I think there is little doubt that Virtual Sex With Jana Cova has everything a fan could want; a hot lady with the kind of looks rarely found in real life, lots of action, and technical values as only Joone could provide. There's a reason why Digital Playground's Virtual Sex series has been so successful and this volume has the added benefit of contract hotty Jana Cova scorching up the screen with her intensely provocative performance. Whew!
