Extra's: There was also a 13.5 minutes Behind the Scenes feature that included some cast members not in the movie, largely because Jim was shooting more then one flick at a time here; the primary focus of the track being this one over Paradise Hole; review forthcoming. It did allow the ladies to give a quick shout and provide short informational interviews while in various states of undress though so I'm not complaining. There were also some minimal Star Bios, a trailers for Eye Candy Refocused, Timeless, a photogallery, a bit on the multiple angles used, and a jump to the scene bit too.

Audio/Video Quality: Women In Control was presented in the originally filmed 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Jim Holliday for VCA Pictures back in February 2000 (filmed at the same time as Paradise Hole). The picture was crystal clear and had a wonderfully diverse cast as seen on the front DVD cover. The fleshtones were accurate thanks in large part to the flat and plentiful lighting, eliminating grain and other visual defects in a manner I wish contemporary companies would at least consider. This was another one of the early Holliday flicks that made great strides to cleaning up the picture and camerawork substantially and should be recognized as such. The audio was presented in the usual Dolby Digital stereo English but the vocals appeared to be looped in a few cases, the dialogue slightly wooden at times, and it sounded hollow less frequently than previous volumes in the series. The music was trademark Jim Holliday style with Scott Reno & the Vancouvers/Reno & the Rumrunners and their counterparts Ed Monton and the Alberta Renegades (an insider joke since Scott Reno and Cal Gary comprise the largest part of both bands) handle the majority of the score with Evan Stone and the ZZyzx Roadhouse band and the Ghosts of Curtis Springer Choir take on the leading theme song.

Body of Review: Jim Holliday used to play argue with then leading performer in his life, Jill Kelly, as part of a routine known as the Jim & Jill Show. The verbal sparring was cute and it allowed the couple to introduce various vignettes as well as add some silly anecdotes and trivia. The sixth installment (I wish they were all numbered to make them easier to track) of the show was made at the same time as Paradise Hole, called Women In Control; a sort of tribute to Edmund Fitzgerald Day (Veteran's Day). See how well I planned out this little retro-reviewing spree?!? Seriously though, the main theme was how women were always in control in Jim's movies, a point that a lot of people realized but few commented about in reviews. The back cover explained it like this: "For over a decade, no critic in the adult world has yet pointed out one simple truth about Jim Holliday movies. Despite titles that are sexual, but could be construed by some as chauvinistic or sexist, at the end of every one of his flicks, women are always in control of the situation. So from this unlikely feminist supporter, VCA now brings you Jim Holliday's Women in Control. For those of you keeping score, this would be #6 in the very cult Jim and Jill Show series. Watch for the return of "Cute Chicks Can't Cook" and the "Footsucker Show" segments... Don't miss the opener between wealthy Tiffany Mynx and grease monkey Evan Stone; or the 'first time ever' job interview scene with experienced Sydnee Steele and "naïve" Jill Kelly - they are of the 100% pants stiffening (or panties soaking) variety! Jim and Jill will not disappoint either your trouser mouse or your bubbly 'in control' beaver!" The basic premise of the vignette driven movie aside, it was a decent effort by Jim, although not his best by a wide margin. Here's a look at the scenes by cast and action, noting there was a lot of humor going on and condoms being used:

Scene One: Tiffany Mynx, the legendary anal queen, played a rich bitch that was grumpy since the mighty Evan Stone, playing a mechanic, was trying to play her over her car. The couch barely held the two of them and she started it off by demanding he suck her feet and toes, leading to him moving his oral charms north of her hem line to eat her out. Her dirty talk enhanced the scene as he rimmed her, leading to one of her championship blowjobs. The two screwed with a sense of abandon, each thrusting toward the other in both the vaginal and the anal sex. It was a fine way to kick off the sex parts of the show, his load coating her face far too soon for my tastes.

Scene Two: Jill Kelly, apparently still the leading lady in Jim's movies at the time, and Sydnee Steele, quickly moving up the ranks of his organization, were up next in a lesbian scene in an office setting. They spent some time rubbing and licking one another, doing a lot of the leg and foot fetish stuff for the fans with Jill putting on a fake Southern accent that worked nicely for me. They didn't use toys but stuck with fingers and tongues instead, eating ass on the black leather couch before it all ended. They showed some chemistry and energy with each other too.

Scene Three: Charmane Star, way back when she was fresh in the industry, was up next on an outdoor porch wearing a dress with no panties, allowing Devin Wolf easy access to go down on her. That didn't last long as she blew him and the scene moved indoors for the couple to fuck. It wasn't the most enthusiastic scene of the movie and the vaginal screwing was kind of boring to me, ending in a moderate pop shot on her chest. Blah!

Scene Four: Jessica Drake, Bobbi Bliss, Tabitha Stevens, Daisy Chain, Felecia, Renee LaRue, April Flowers, Olivia Parrish, Allysin Chaynes, Tiffany Mynx, Sydnee Steele, and Jill Kelly (technically, most of them were in the scene but it was shot to prevent being able to clearly identify all the ladies so I went with the cast), were up next as Felecia and Tabitha led the ladies in the "Butt Licking, Toe Sucking" contest. The others were on all fours with their asses in the air, as the two leads sucked and licked the asses easily. This broke out into the others licking and playing too. One thing to note, the text on the screen mentioned that a few minutes of the action came from the Jim & Jill Show #5 and didn't think anyone would mind. Whew!

Scene Five: Jill Kelly, playing a cop, roughed up former partner Julian, before sucking him off in the motel room. He rewarded her change in demeanor by sucking her toes as she rubbed his cock with the other foot. If you like this kind of thing as much as I do, you'll like the scene since the ladies seemed to be totally into one another.

Summary: Women In Control by director Jim Holliday was worth a rating of Recommended for fans of the infamous director's works as it provided a number of heated vignettes thanks in large part to ladies like Tiffany Mynx, Jessica Drake, and Jill Kelly, but also several other talented hotties. The technical values were solid, the extras minimal, and the level of replay and stroke value surprisingly solid as Women In Control offered up some nice quantities of fuck for the buck. While it might not have been Jim's biggest hit and best value, it's available so cheaply that it's a shame more people haven't picked up a copy of their own (relying on saps like me that lend them out).
