Extra's: Like most of the Shane's World releases of late, there were some good extras with my favorite being the 27.5 minutes of Behind the Scenes footage. Extra sex, nudity, and some of the mini-dramas were all covered here nicely, making it enhance the value of the DVD. If you're a stoner, you'll have a lot more reason to enjoy this one (just watch it already). The other good extra was the 22.5 minute set of interviews taken largely on the last day of the shoot. I'm again tempted to list the disclaimer at the front of the movie as an extra as it was hilarious too but you can see what I mean on your own. There was a cumshot recap, a photogallery, and trailers to shows like Blazed & Confused 1, Guide To Anal Sex, Girls Night Out 1, Girls Night Out 2, Shane's World 37, Shane's World 36, Shane's World, and Shane's World: Nerdz, too.

Audio/Video Quality: Blazed & Confused 2: Maui Wowie!: Stoner's Edition was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Penny Flame (with some camera work and editing by Hambone Jones; AKA HJ)for release by Shane's World. The series is supposed to look like it was shot by an amateur, something like many other Pro-Am series, and it did in virtually all scenes (though Penny is far too vocal to let me think she clammed up in the scenes she wasn't heard in). The lighting would wash out the fleshtones, the camera would lose focus, and the composition of the shots varied at times but the raw energy of the show remained intact as the series tends to be good at. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio was decent but I didn't notice a lot of separation between the channels (the center channel provided pretty much all of the sound) and the dynamic range was about average for the series. The technical values in general were once again decent but a bit more work might help them even more in the future.

Body of Review: Penny Flame is one of the craziest but refreshing gals in porn if you can stand her sometimes goofy demeanor. The best example of this is her work for Shane's World where she directs from time to time. The company and gal make the perfect match and I'll be up front that while I'm not a stoner, she makes me laugh like some of the better Cheech and Chong movies from years ago. Her latest release for the company is Blazed & Confused 2: Maui Wowie!: Stoner's Edition, a movie where she blows off giving handjobs to strangers while providing a travelogue of her quest to find the popular herbal mood enhancer, Maui Wowie, in Hawaii. The back cover said it like this: "Come along on the hunt for Maui Wowie with all your favorite stoners! While on the hunt for the ultimate herb, there's sex on the sailboat, sex under a tropical waterfall and a fast passed quad chase. Watch as this hilariously twisted tale unfolds in the only way Penny's trips can ... Blazed 'N Confused!" Penny was as nutty and lovable as ever with the non-sex parts nearly as entertaining as the sex, adding to the fun of the show. If this interests you, here's a quick look at the scenes, noting that they were only a small part of the fun of the DVD, with no condoms used at all:

Scene One: Emily Evermoore, the blonde holding the beer on the middle of the front DVD cover, was up first on the deck of the boat with Sascha after the group all jumped into the fin-laced ocean (Sascha was a wuss at first). The playful, drunken antics were worth watching so don't skip them to get straight to the sex as with some flicks. In any case, Sascha was being a man-whore and chasing the ladies around, with Emily the only one willing to play with him. Summary: Blazed & Confused 2: Maui Wowie!: Stoner's Edition by director Penny Flame for Shane's World was another hilarious adventure of the lady and her friends as they scoured the pot paradise in search of the illusive weed. Penny's status as one of the eminent stoner's of our time aside, the sex was well done, the ladies all fitting into the dynamic of the movie, with the strokability and replay value of the scenes well done. Unlike many movies where you can tell how little regard the ladies have for the men (imagine having to work with Dirty Harry, Jake Malone, or someone else old enough and gross enough to be the corner pervert), the cats was perfectly matched for one another, elevating the rating of Blazed & Confused 2: Maui Wowie!: Stoner's Edition to a Recommended. A bit more sex might've elevated the rating even more for me but if you're a stoner, there are very few companies ballsy enough to openly pay tribute to the smokable weed like this one so take that into consideration as well. Shane's World is definitely not the kind of porn company old people get into so enjoy what they have to offer the next generation as they leave the musty old competition behind.
