Extra's: For many of you, the best extra will be the bonus scene between Sativa Rose, Jezebelle Bond, and Marcos Leon from Caliente. It was short and sweet but had a lot to offer so I described it below. Personally, I enjoyed the 19 minute long Behind the Scene feature by talented Red Ezra more but I prefer unique extras in my movies. There was more sex, nudity, and short interviews as Red meandered around the sets of the flick, talking with cast and crew, spending a lot of time getting the inside scoop from director David. There were also the usual photogalleries (5) and Star Stats (4), the 2006 Promotional Reel, spam, DVD Catalog of Wicked Pictures titles, the usual DVD ROM material, and trailers to movies like The Visitors, Gossip, Eternity, Camp Cuddly Pines, Hook Ups, Curse Eternal, (but none for Fuck, Manhunters, or other new titles; curious...). There was also a cardboard protective sleeve on the DVD case and a double sided cover for those who care.

Audio/Video Quality: Strangers When We Meet was presented in the usual 1.85:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director David Stanley for Wicked Pictures. The use of lighting was moody with the use of shadow nearly as visually compelling this time, lending a slightly saturated color to the fleshtones of the scene. The video noise was minimal and the composition of the scenes was extremely well taken care of, enhancing the look of the ladies in all cases. The editing helped in this regard and the movie struck me as another time that I can state that David's attempt at art was completely successful. The audio was presented with numerous choices, the primary one being a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English track that balanced the vocals and music nicely. There were also 2.0 Dolby Digital tracks with Spanish, German, Greek, French, and Italian available for those who care but the fact is that the dubbing seemed quite off on both of them to me. Otherwise, the audio seemed to be a step forward for Wicked Pictures, even though the vocals were almost certainly recorded in monaural or dubbed in later. Still, the music was well done and the overall quality of the audio was better than average as well.

Body of Review: Wicked Pictures is the current leader of feature porn according to a great many people in and out of the porn industry. Part of the reason for this status is how well they cater to the market, providing a well rounded selection of blockbusters and small, more intimate features, as well as use directors from differing backgrounds like the talented David Stanley. David is largely known for his smaller flicks that reflect some of his own life experiences, proving to be very personal reflections on life as he knows it, albeit with the occasional twist or two. His most recent movie is Strangers When We Meet, a movie about relationships much like some of Brad Armstrong's works, relying on an intimate knowledge of human dynamics to tell the story. It is made for those not into circus act sex or a lot of mechanical boning, and it's important to keep this in mind when deciding if it might work for you. As a fan of leading performers Sativa Rose and Randy Spears, it was an easy choice for me but your personal mileage may vary. The back cover put it like this: "A fleeting glimpse of romance, a moment in time that flutters like a butterfly, impossible to catch and keep. Sam (Randy Spears) and Jamie (Sativa Rose) will share such a moment. They share a magnetic attraction to each other, but Sam is dating Jamie's best friend, Amanda (Mika Tan). But when Sam and Jamie share a night of passion they are consumed with guilt and promise to end it there... but can they keep their promise?" Condoms were used in all the scenes but there was a lot to appreciate here so if you're in the mood for something slightly off the beaten track, this one may be just what you're looking for. Here's a look at the scenes if you still need more information:

Scene One: Sativa Rose, the hotty on the front DVD cover, Kelly Kline, one of the cutest gals in porn, Randy Spears, and Tony Tedeschi, were up first with Tony tonguing Sativa at the club while Randy went down on Kelly in bed at separate locations. Both gals have long established themselves as orally skilled ladies possessing the kind of physical attractiveness that made them perfect for their roles. The ladies adies then sucked cock like champions, leading to some hardcore vaginal boning with active riding shown at all times (Kelly was on fire in fact). Sativa wasn't initially up to her usual standards but given her partner and the roles played in the movie, I can see where this would be a tribute to appropriate casting on David's part. The gals took the facials well and Randy really blasted out a huge load to be proud of while Tony might want to take a breath for a few months.

Scene Two: Sativa Rose, in a sexy little nightie, was up next on the couch with Talon. Sucking him off with more vigor then she did Tony in the previous scene. This resulted in a load to her breasts as the scene was not a full sex scene but ore of a set up to the story yet I have to admit that she looked very good and the use of a non-standard scene like this for setting up a plot point was daring on David's part (a number of critics have hammered him and others for doing so in the past, present company included).

Scene Three: Jezebelle Bond, wearing a neon red wig and corset, was up next as the muscular Tommy Gunn went down on her in the brick laced loft. She returned the oral pleasure with a hand assisted hummer of her own; proving that her recent lack of work in the industry was not due to a lack of sexual skill. Her eye contact alone was enough to elicit a smile from me but her active riding style in the reverse cowgirl was pretty fine too. He ended it by jerking his load to her face and mouth, proving to be something less then they were capable of but fitting for the story too (though in a tacked on sense).

Scene Four: Mika Tan, seen in a variety of heated looks during the movie (the skintight dress, the Eva look, etc), was up next in bed with Randy Spears as she wore a purple outfit designed to launch a thousand loads for fetish fans. She was the sexual aggressor here, working his cock over in a heated manner and straddling him to get some oral in return before putting his condom on for the ride of the show. She enjoyed his affinity for foot fetish and eventually took the load to her abdomen to finish up a healthy little stroker of a scene.

Scene Five: Sativa Rose, in the loft with Randy Spears, had the kind of sleepy bedroom eyes you get from being tired but ready to rumble sexually as he spent a lot of time warming her up (breast and cookie tasting for the most part). She rubbed herself up and down on his face as she appeared to get excited, returning the oral favor even better then she did in the previous scene. I admit that I'm slightly infatuated with the comely lass but her skill levels are indisputably exceptional and nearly caused him to pop before she rode him like she had been lusting after him for weeks. The active ride was indicative of her character's need for seed and while a few of the other scenes may have had a tacked on feel at times, this one fit well into the bigger picture being offered up but also as the kind of scene that may get some of the couple's crowd to check out more of her work elsewhere when they want something even harder. It ended with a titty pop, finishing up the sex portion of the movie.

Summary: Strangers When We Meet by director David Stanley for Wicked Pictures was not one of the titles that will likely win scores of accolades, awards, and cheering crowds but served to illustrate that not all feature porn has to be hugely budgeted to be entertaining and sexy at the same time. Fans of Sativa Rose will undoubtedly appreciate how skilled she was here sexually and with regard to her acting ability as well, perhaps serving as an introductory flick to see more of her in such roles. In short, while I can't say that Strangers When We Meet was David's best work, it was a nice little effort worth a rating of Recommended for the technical values, the ladies used, and the sexual encounters presented.
