Extra's: The best extra was the 8.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature. It was far too short to include a lot of material but it had some extra nudity and shower footage. The other extras were light this time with a pop shot compilation from the scenes, a filmography for one of the ladies (Brittney Lynn Zmatta), a cast list, a photogallery, a biography, and trailers to shows like Big Booty White Girls 1, Big Booty White Girls 2, Big Booty White Girls 3, Big Booty White Girls 4, Just Fuckin 1, Just Fuckin 2, Just Fuckin 3, Black Pipe Layers, Black Girls Get Nasty Too, and Big Booty White Moms.

Audio/Video Quality: Justin Slayer's Bootlegs & B-Sides was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, as originally shot by Justin Slayer for distribution by Evil Angel. The fleshtones looked fairly accurate thanks in large part to the lighting, which also limited the grain and video noise but it wasn't always consistent. The composition of the camera angles wasn't always the best to enhance the look of the females, typically zooming in on blemishes or having the camera move around like someone was always losing their balance, usually when HJ was shooting from what I could tell. The overall visual look of the show was generally below average compared to some of Justin's recent works and I thought a lot more attention should've been paid to it than has been the case of late (to be fair, the title made it seem like these were the scenes that would have otherwise been locked away in a vault unreleased but for this DVD). The 2.0 Dolby Digital audio was presented in the usual stereo English with the levels being a bit varied but you could hear what was said so most fans won't mind the lack of dynamic range or lack of separation between the channels. The music was kind of droning and lame during some of the scene openings but it was less intrusive here than in most of Justin's movies of the last year so I was again pleased at the improvement here.

Body of Review: Justin Slayer and Evil Angel seem to be a solid partnership in terms of their distributing his titles on DVD these days but he remains one of the weakest directors of the company by most standards, relying on his love of the curvier black ladies to secure his niche at the company. He has had a number of good titles in the past but he also has more then his share of releases that have been in need of something more than he gave them; resulting in the need for a review of his work before dropping hard earned cash. His latest title to cross my path was Justin Slayer's Bootlegs & B-Sides, a set of scenes where Justin and the ladies displayed on the cover were bumping uglies, in most cases, falling far short of what the director is capable of providing his fans. If you're still interested, here's a quick look at the scenes, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Pinky, the gal from Oakland seen with the neon pink hair on the lower left hand corner of the front DVD cover, was up first as she showered with some body wash to make her body all the more appealing to Justin Slayer; a man that appreciated her 23 year old body (about to turn 24). The gal was thick and had the kind of extra weight Justin seems to appreciate in his ladies. She's best known as an internet gal who takes on occasional mainstream porn job to help promote her work. After some suitable tease footage that included booty clapping in the shower, she was up posing in the dining room in her bikini. That led to her doing some oiling up in the living room, stripping down to take care of lusty Justin after she continued her act in the rest of the house. They skipped most of the preliminaries as he took her from behind, allowing her a chance to purr as she took his hard black shaft in her lighter skinned cookie. This led to her riding him very hard and fast as she got into the action, impaling herself on his rod like she was on fire and doing some PTM as though she loved the taste of their mixed juices. She then gave him a prolonged hummer before moving back to riding him, squealing in pleasure as she rubbed him the right way. Scene Two: Merna, the gal on the middle of the right hand side of the front cover wearing the pink thong, was up next as she pumped her fleshy ass to the droning music in the hotel room with Justin Slayer. Once finished, they were kissing and feeling each other up, her settling in to blow him as though she were on the clock. She concentrated her oral skills on the last couple of inches of his shaft while her hand to gland action worked the rest of it (and his balls of course). She was active but the camera work was kind of lame and she seemed to be mechanically working him over as though to finish him off quickly. The expression on her face was sullen and that killed it for me, even though she broke out laughing at one point in spite of herself. It ended when he rubbed out a load to her lower abdomen, ending the filler scene that did nothing for me.

Scene Three: Brittney Lynn Zamatta, the mixed gal shown laying down on the middle of the right hand side of the front cover (located just above Marna), was up next in a light and stylish blue patterned dress in the house. She had a very short tease session alone before she was joined by Justin Slayer who boosted her confidence by saying how pretty and sexy she was, making her blush and giggle as a result. She wasn't exactly one of the best looking gals of the show (it was about B Sides after all) but her curves were ample and most guys I know would hit it (as long as nobody knew about it). She was a largely passive ride and that weakened it for me almost as much as Merna's scene, resulting in another scene of questionable merit that ended with a text note that said she quit because she couldn't handle any more.

Scene Four: Mercedes, the rounded rump of a gal displayed on the upper left hand corner underneath Justin's name on the DVD header, was up next with Justin Slayer. She teased a bit and ended up masturbating on the stairs, giving a little preliminary show before taking the scene to his office. If you like junk in the trunk, this gal sure had an ample sample of it to offer up, Justin oiling her ass up before she sucked him off like a seasoned veteran. Scene Five: Diamond, the large gal on the upper right hand corner, was up next as she teased in her white outfit for Justin Slayer as the music played lightly in the background. I minded her snaggletooth smile a lot less than Mercedes' acne and her ability to tease was first rate as she masturbated and otherwise played the camera into focusing on her best assets. Her solo act lasted longer than most but she savored the taste of his rod when he offered it up, showing that a little enthusiasm made up for a relative lack of technical skill. She was vocal and flexible, giving her act a bit of spice as a result, ending with a facial and a lot of post coital sucking. I liked this gal for all she did and how she did it, even if HJ fucked up the technical matters too much.

Scene Six: Paris, the well endowed lady on the lower right hand corner of the front DVD cover, was up last in what was billed as a bonus scene before the action began. She looked kind of lost as the scene started by the pool with her in her black bikini and heels yet she worked the camera fairly well too(and some of you will appreciate how hairy her coochy was). She acted shy for Justin Slayer but she took her 20 year old body inside the house onto the couch for more interview footage but it was the bed where they ended up during the sex. He played with her and ate her out, though she seemed to carry on like he was doing nothing for her. That led to him drilling her from behind with her laying flat, making me wonder if she was cold to the touch or just paid to act that way since she really didn't seem to show any appreciation or emotion during the first part of the scene. She barely seemed to notice him most of the time and he popped on her mouth (her treating it like toxic waste) and then a smaller load onto her ass cheek to close it out.

Summary: Justin Slayer's Bootlegs & B-Sides by director Justin Slayer and distributor Evil Angel was one of those times when I really didn't feel the love coming from his camera. There were technical failings, gals that literally left before they were through, and others that seemed to be watching the clock more then caring about what was going on in the scenes. A couple of the ladies were worth watching and a few others had the kind of physical appeal some of us like even if they weren't setting out to rock the world, so I was a pal and rated Justin Slayer's Bootlegs & B-Sides with a slightly too generous Rent It as a compromise. I'd rather he use the B-side motif of weaker scenes as extras in some of his better efforts then stick them all together at once.
