Extra's: The best extra for most people will be the extended scenes; scene four with Holly, Belladonna, and Dillion clocking in with an additional 6 minutes while the eleven girl orgy is an additional 7 minutes of fun. There was a delightful 15 minute Behind the Scenes feature starring Jim and the crew with extra footage but also bloopers and personal observations (like the movie being a sort of venture with Evan Stone Productions) but it was very entertaining to watch. Another excellent extra was the full length audio commentary by Jim Holliday, Holly Hollywood, and Chandler. Jim dominated much of the movie with the gals playing back up, adding in how they haven't seen the finished version until now and some tidbits about their experience on the sets of the movies shot that day. There were also some minimal Star Bios, a trailers for movies like Paradise Hole, Timeless, Perfect Smiles, a photogallery, a bit on the multiple angles used, and a jump to the scene bit too.

Audio/Video Quality: Midnight Librarians was presented in the originally filmed 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Jim Holliday for VCA Pictures back in August 2001 (filmed at the same time as Think Pink). The picture was mostly clear and had a wonderfully diverse cast as seen on the front DVD cover. The fleshtones were accurate thanks in large part to the flat and plentiful lighting, eliminating grain and other visual defects in a manner I wish contemporary companies would at least consider. This was one of the mid-term Holliday flicks where some budget considerations came into play, coming off as decent looking but the best the man had to offer at this stage in his career. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital English but the vocals appeared to be looped in a few cases, the dialogue slightly wooden at times, and it sounded hollow less frequently than previous volumes in the series. The music was trademark Jim Holliday style with Reno & the Rumrunners as well as "3 chumps from Sanfrancisco/2 Weasels from L.A." There was a slightly wider range of music here for those who care but the movie seemed to be more of an after thought or filler in between the other movie made at the same time.

Body of Review: Jim Holliday was something of a legend and VCA Pictures helped to propel him to a lofty status by catering to his muse more often then not. He delivered the goods time and again, making a lot of fans happy with movies such as Midnight Librarians: DVD Long Cut. The movie had a film noir tone to it as Holly Hollywood played a detective (with the darker ending changed just before the movie was released). The cover said it like this: "Ever wonder what librarians do after hours when they remove their glasses, lose the orthopedic shoes and let their hair hang down? Do you think librarians fuck?? The always innovative Jim Holliday offers MIDNIGHT LIBRARIANS - a past, present and future time capsule into this previously unexplored porn area. You've seen nurses and cheerleaders done to death after Jimmy set the bar. Here is the movie devoted to librarians but there are film noir private eyes, TV game show hosts, Dot Com millionaires, Gypsies and more thrown into this unique Holliday mix. And as always, the emphasis is on pleasing true fans with red hot sex. Pussies, butts and toes galore." It was a decent little outing and fans will be happy with it, even if it wasn't quite as good as it should have been. Here's a look at the scenes by cast and action, noting there were several false starts and all the men wore condoms:

Scene One: Chandler, the blonde on the upper left hand corner of the front cover, was up first as she slobbed the knob of pretty boy Dale DaBone, on a pool table. He ate her in return, spending most of the time on her ass, as she rubbed herself in preparation for the screwing portion of the scene. They skipped right to the anal and she was moderately active while bouncing on the cock (making a lot of noise in the process). It ended with the standard pop shot as expected.

Scene Two: Shayla LaVeaux (upper middle of the cover), Holly Hollywood (middle of the right side), and cute Allysin Chaynes (middle of the left side), were up in the first of several lesbian trysts. It was short but pleasing with a little extra footage added in with the lipstick being worked off her face.

Scene 2.1: Skarlet Fever (redhead; second from the left on top) and Felecia (immediately below her), were working the stacks and each other for a short time with oral as the primary sex act.

Scene 2.2: Summer Storm (third from the left on top) and Felecia, had what amounted to a replay of the last scene with almost no sex to it. Felecia once again sucked butt but that was it.

Scene Three: Monica Mayhem (lower middle with all natural breasts before she ruined them with implants), Calli Cox (blonde, second from the left in the middle), the mighty Evan Stone, and Dillion Day before he changed to being a one name wonder, were up next with Monica riding Dillion as a starter (showing incredible energy) and Calli sitting on his face. Evan did little this time but the gals got their facials after some boning.

Scene Four: Belladonna (brunette; upper right hand corner), Holly Hollywood, and Dillion Day, were up next as the ladies sucked feet and the rest of the body parts, with an emphasis on ass. Bella played a gypsy and the small bed served to focus their efforts by the window. After the lesbian work, Bella sucked off Dillion while Holly masturbated. This was the long scene that was not present (in this form) on the VHS version and Holly stayed away from the cock sadly enough but Bella was a hot ride.

Scene Five: Skarlet Fever, still looking appealing on the striped couch, was eaten out by the mighty Evan Stone, who also worked her over anally before the two lick hummer. The condom clad ride was very aggressive in her cookie before the facial. This was a very appealing scene with a tremendous amount of passion, energy, and heat.

Scene Six: Joelean, Tanya Danielle, Jasmine Klein, Belladonna, Holly Hollywood, Summer Storm, Felecia, Skarlet Fever, Monica Mayhem, Calli Cox, and Chandler, were up in the large lesbian orgy of the day. They licked, sucked, rubbed, and otherwise played with each other with all the usual trimmings (foot fetish, anal licking) as Felecia and Holly gave medical exams. I wasn't keen on the jazz music used in the movie but the action was a lot better then some of the lesbian warm ups. Yum!

Scene Seven: Gauge (bottom middle on the left), was up last with the mighty Evan Stone, in a future setting where she wore a pink see through outfit as she masturbated. She was tiny compared to him but the oral led to anal, her aggressively taking him like few of the others ever could. It was another short scene but it lasted long enough to establish her as an anal force of the day.

Summary: Midnight Librarians by director Jim Holliday for VCA Pictures was worth a rating of Recommended thanks to the levels of strokability, replay value, fuck for the buck, and the extensive cast of hotties. The technical values and extras certainly added to the fun too and in most ways the DVD version of the movie was vastly superior as it added more, making Midnight Librarians: DVD Long Cut a solid package of entertainment for fans. The story was more convoluted than usual (if that's actually possible) and the sex scenes had a few potential pairings that stopped before they ever got started, but I enjoyed it more than a little the first time I watched it years ago as well as more recently; showing it stands the test of time.
