Extra's: Like most of the Shane's World releases of late, there were some good extras with my favorite being the 14.5 minute long bonus scene between Julie Night and Ryan Knox as described below. It seemed shorter then the scenes from the movie but had some appeal all the same. I also really liked the 23 minutes of Behind the Scenes footage. The cast and crew were having a lot of fun and I enjoyed watching it; especially for the extra sex and nudity. It showed a playful side of things that fans will appreciate. The interplay between Devinn and Kurt, especially the ending routine, was hilarious but I expected no less from the dup that are often referred to as being on the fringes of porn society. Audio/Video Quality: Devinn Lane's Guide To Strap On Sex was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Devinn Lane for release by Shane's World. The lighting and camera work looked a lot more professional then I'm used to from the company, reminding me a lot like the style of work done by director Brother Love in several scenes (except for some of the editing). The fleshtones were accurate, the composition of the angles enhanced the look of the ladies, and it seemed like a solid effort all the way around even though titles from Shane's World are generally known for having kind of nervous energy and fun over technical excellence. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio was decent but I didn't notice a lot of separation between the channels (the center channel provided pretty much all of the sound on my home theatre and my headphones didn't provide a markedly different experience either) and the dynamic range was about average for the series. The technical values were decent in general, showing that a bit more work can have a big impact on the look and sound of a porno.

Body of Review: Devinn Lane has performed and directed for a few companies now, with her work at Shane's World probably being closest to what she likes to provide. Before complaining that they were not to her liking, she made a few movies of merit with their resources, not the least of which was Devinn Lane's Guide To Strap On Sex. The movie was advertised heavily on the basis of a single scene but it really did seem to offer up a reasonable variety of circus act sex tricks for fans of toy use, especially toy use on men. The cover said it like this: "Grab your lube, Devinn Lane is here to spice up your sex life! This couple's friendly guide teaches you everything you need to know about strap-on sex. Kurt Lockwood takes his first on camera strap-on provided by Samantha and Sandra. Katja and Christian give tips in the "advanced segment".
