Extra's: The best extras were the three bonus scenes shot exclusively for this DVD set. The first lasted nearly 30 minutes and had a fine looking Karina Kay doing her best work with Manuel before the mope squad dumped additional loads onto her face. The second scene lasted only about 29 minutes but Alicia Alighatti was also incredible so I described the scene below. Audio/Video Quality: Evilution 2 was presented in 1.85:1 ratio letterboxed color as shot for DVD by director Manuel Ferrara for Evil Angel. I would've greatly preferred the movie to be in anamorphic widescreen (the process adds a lot of detail to the picture on widescreen televisions) but that trend still hasn't hit Evil Angel yet so I'll just have to wait. I've noticed that Manuel's work for the company simply hasn't been as crystal clear as some of his work elsewhere and this was one more such case. The colors were fairly solid (though someone seems to have forgotten to white balance the camera since the tint was kind of puke yellow), the fleshtones occasionally accurate, but the lighting was not the best this time; making the picture look decent but not nearly as good as some of his older work for another company. Lighting varied by the scenes and was spottier than previous efforts but still seemed to convey the sense of raw energy fairly well. The amount of grain and video noise were low to moderate as a result so while it wasn't the best I've seen from Manuel (not even close in fact), it was better than some gonzo productions. There were no compression artifacts noticed during the scenes but the strength of the visuals was how the composition of the shots almost always enhanced the looks or perceived passion of the scenes. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English with minimal separation between the channels and a standard dynamic range, making it nothing special in this sense but not bad either.

Body of Review: Manuel Ferrara has really been the best directorial acquisition by Evil Angel for me in a very long time; energizing performers that are typically lackadaisical, showing that his vision is not the cookie cutter formula some detractors would suggest, and offering up large quantities of fuck for the buck while other gonzo directors seem ready to spout off about quality over quantity (providing neither but paying lip service has long been a hobby in porn). His latest movie for the company is Evilution 2: Special Extended 2 Disc Set, the sequel to one of the best gonzo offerings of the year; Evilution 1. The scenes all showed some serious stroke value and twisted ideas in play, with some of the most talented ladies in the business providing their best work in a long time. If you're still interested, here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used at all:

Scene One: Gia Paloma, was up first as she walked through the house, strutting her stuff like she owned the joint in her fishnet body stocking and large shades. She was on the right side of the front cover in a subdued B&W shot but deserved better. The couple had some serious chemistry together and that made it a great scene except for the technical matters, with the ending facials seeming to weaken it for me (so your mileage may vary). The picture quality was off a bit, reminding me of some of the competition in fact, but her youthful outfit made her look younger and her dirty talk added to the fun of the scene and any fans of this lady will be rewarded with a fine scene worth many replays.

The extras were great and the amounts of fuck for the buck were sweet but whoever was in charge of the cameras and DVD mastering probably needs a swift kick in the ass since this might have been another home run for the team but for that aspect (and admittedly some of the thematic crap that struck me as erection killing; like the corpse bit and toilet training). Still, I rated Evilution 2: Special Extended 2 Disc Set as Recommended on the high end of the scale and those less into the technical side of things will almost certainly appreciate the strengths of the movie over the weaknesses more than I did (I'm really big on technical matters like picture and sound). Perhaps the only thing holding Manuel back from providing some of the best gonzo porn available is a production team worthy of his vision but fans will like this one a whole lot, despite the technical failings.
