Extra's: I also enjoyed watching the 40 minutes of Behind the Scenes footage that was largely focused on interview footage but before you skip watching it, keep in mind that Dana, Penny, and Roxy were hilarious (well worth watching) and some others were decent too. Not all of the gals were equally favored in terms of providing quality material but fans should check this out to see how their own preferred hotties fared. There was also a photogallery, a biography for the director, a cast list, some limited filmographies, a cumshot recap, and trailers to movies like My Best Friend's Whore Friend, Slut Collector, Boob Bangers 3, Load Sharing, Bodacious Booty, Bet Your Ass 3, Girls Love Girls, Suck It Dry 2, Trophy Whores, and Angels of Debauchery 5.

Audio/Video Quality: Girls Love Girls 2 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Jonni Darkko for distribution by Evil Angel. Having watched his works for several years now, I can safely say that he has been improving the quality of his work in regards to technical matters much of the time just as he has been getting better at displaying passion and heat in the scenes he shoots. This title was a case where he tried something new to surpass the visual qualities of his peers at the company by using artistic lighting rather than the kind I prefer, with some mixed results as the fleshtones were decidedly muted. He did seem to spend some time enhancing the quality of the looks of the gals using camera angles that flattered them individually instead of a cookie cutter approach as in the past. The editing looked pretty solid too with Eddie Powell showing he can do more than just direct yet again. While not his best looking title to date, I acknowledge his care and consideration at trying to provide something different. The DVD had no compression artifacts or other flaws added in during the mastering process so it was a nice looking DVD too. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio wasn't as pleasing as the visuals since they typically started out with droning musical pieces and moved onto almost always quiet action sequences. I hate rap and thump heavy music in porn, especially when the vocals are weakened because of them, so this was once again an area needing some work in the future.

Body of Review: Jonni Darkko has long been one of the nicest guys directing at Evil Angel and I wish I had run into him at the show in Vegas last week but he was probably busy scouring the convention for attractive ladies to include in his various upcoming ventures. It's my opinion that he's one of the best directors at the company for casting people as couples, showing a lot of vision with regard to getting people together that really turn up the heat. In terms of his technical direction skills, I usually prefer when he shoots to look crystal clear over the film-like look most of his recent movies but variety is the spice of life. His latest movie to make it my way is last year's Girls Love Girls 2, the sequel to Girls Love Girls 1; a selection of lesbian scenes starring some of the best ladies available in porn. If you like seeing hot women going at one another, this might be just what you're looking for, albeit with some technical limitations. Here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Charlotte Stokely, one of the current crop of alt-porn hotties that fans adored at the show last week, as well as hardcore peer Kimberly Kane, who had a similar dynamic going for her, were up first to open the movie with some tease in a montage styled display using sepia toned colors and a driving little beat. Kimberly smoked a cigarette more than anything during this time but once they were together, she dominated Charlotte in the bedroom (wearing a blindfold in the beige chair). I think both gals are attractive in their own way but wasn't expecting a lot when it hit me that they were particularly hot together; perhaps fueling a latent desire to watch alt-porn in me that my brain (and libido) had suppressed. In any case, the music was turned down in favor of the vocals well before the toys came into play as Kim used a large clear one on Charlotte (feeding her PTM style along the way). When it was Charlotte's turn, she seemed eager to please Kim, going for it rapidly as she licked, fingered, and sucked her partner silly.

Scene Two: Annette Schwartz, Lorelei Lee, and Adrianna Nicole, were up next in a similar themed montage (they could sort of be seen in the upper left hand corner of the front cover) with some fetishware that truly enhanced their looks. The strap on dildo came first, along with a dominating German accent, with the living room serving as the place of choice for the action. The initial action included two of them together but the third joined them after some of the best action of the series in terms of aggressive sex. The stripper cop interruption was also pretty satisfying but the vaginal and anal toy play certainly was edgy too. In all, the toys were perhaps used too much for my specific tastes but the energy flowing from the gals was top notch and plentiful, serving to showcase why I think Jonni is so underrated compared to some of his peers at the company. There was some paddling and rough sex but it never transcended into the circus act stuff; keeping me interested in watching it more than once. Whew!

Scene Three: Dana "Paige" DeArmond, looking especially lovely in her purple silk stockings and garter, and hotty Roxy DeVille, in a similar outfit, were up next as they followed the formula. Both of these ladies epitomize what's right with porn today; pulling off a unique look that doesn't revolve around anorexia or a ton of make up to allow their natural sultriness flow from within. It's tough to pin down exactly why they looked so good together but both were refreshing in a day and age when implants are so common, coming across like they were 19 or 20 years old in the brightly lit breakfast nook. The couple spent some time exploring one another sexually, spitting and giving love taps as they satisfied one another orally. They took turns with being in charge and Dana seemed focused when sticking all four fingers into Roxy's cookie (adding in other fingers as it stretched to accommodate her until all eight were shoved in). As I thought about it, though admittedly after watching the scene a few times, this was a rare case when the best scene of the movie was placed in the middle of the pack; such passionate work typically reserved for the lead or ending scene in my rather extensive experience. Fans of foot fetish material will appreciate that Dana sucked and licked feet with the best of them, proving Roxy's comments about a big mouth all too readily as a result of stuffing a foot deep inside. The scene was fun, showed passion, chemistry, and lots of sparks, giving it tremendous replay value as a result. Heck, Dana's anal play alone was pretty smoking but the entirety of the scene was great.

Scene Four: Tia Tanaka and Nyomi Marcela, the two Asian gals featured on the front cover, were up next as they also followed the beating thump with some tease and masturbation. It should be clear by now that I have reservations about formulas in porn and that my tastes in music are somewhat different then what might pass for a lite version of a rave's droning beat (which works great if you're surrounded by hot, sweaty, and ecstasy enlightened ladies) but these two, while anticlimactic to Dana and Roxy, were pleasing to look at and seemed to offer some diversity to the cast. I've seen both in several heated scenes of late and figured I'd be a sport for this review and leave the audio on a little longer. They seemed more into masturbating during their scene and the foot fetish aspects were more pronounced, with Nyomi taking the leading role this time. The oral each did to the other was decent, if not the most compelling of the movie, and Tia showed she can dish it out with the best of them when it was her turn to wield the dildo. It was interesting to see that each could be more dominant or submissive when called to do so than most of the other ladies of the flick, but the role playing aspect aside, it proved to be a decent, if not screen blazing, scene.

Scene Five: Penny Flame, another personal favorite of mine and one of the most enthusiastic performers in porn these days was up last in a scene with also attractive Holly "love muffin" Morgan. The light levels of grain practically washed away Penny's freckles but she showed that she had a sultry side to her that compliments the winning goofball stoner she always seems to be displaying. For her part, Holly was also looking sharp with the kind of natural curves I appreciate too. When they hooked up on the expansive bed in their skimpy lingerie, I saw what a great idea it was to pair them together with Penny as the nasty one and Holly as the nearly innocent one, each adding something different to the scene dynamic. The scene did not really have as clearly delineated roles as some of the others did (neither gal really took control of the other in any major way) but the playfulness was always evident and while it was the second hottest scene of the bunch, it was a solid selection for the ending of the movie given how many slices of life the rest of the movie provided. There was a lot of oral on each of them and a fair amount of toy play, showing each gal get off multiple times or at least perform as though they did. If you made it this far through the movie without several pit stops to pleasure yourself, you're more jaded then I am and probably could use an extended break from watching so much porn. Yum!

Summary: Girls Love Girls 2 by director Jonni Darkko for distribution by Evil Angel under his Darkko Productions label. The ladies were a nicely selected bunch, with notables like Dana DeArmond, Roxy DeVille, and Penny Flame really standing out in my mind as highlights of the movie. The technical values were a mixed bunch since they went with a somewhat grainy look to simulate film rather than the clarity of video but the energy was captured very nicely so I rated the DVD as Recommended. Your personal mileage may vary a bit but the hotter scenes were smoking hot and even the weakest of the bunch was pretty darned warm. In short, Girls Love Girls 2 was the best lesbian flick I've seen since last year but also a first rate stroker.
