Extra's: The best extra was the 14 minute long Behind the Scenes feature that used deleted footage from the movie. While some of it was edited from the movie (usually because of poor angles, audio, or lighting most of the time), I was happy that the extra sex was often interesting and added some fun (the photogallery stuff wasn't bad either). There were some trailers, a photogallery, and a lot of commercials as well but that was it.

Audio/Video Quality: Seymore Butts' America's Got Ass was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by director Seymore Butts for his company, Seymore Butts Home Movies, to be distributed by Pure Play Media. While his works have often been technically limited in terms of lighting, grain, and other visual flaws, he wisely focuses less on technical matters to concentrate his efforts on providing the kind of raw energy that far too few pornos have these days. This DVD looked similar to past efforts of his, with some minor lighting and grain issues as much as anything else but it didn't look bad at all. The composition of the scenes varied less than in other recent Seymore movies, making the women look pretty good, if not their very best. While I don't believe the action is unscripted as his movie try to show, if you skip the BTS feature you might think the action is unstaged or as if Seymore mindlessly walks into the scenes (but we all know better) and that detracts from the otherwise fun sex he offers up. There were no observed compression artifacts so at least the DVD mastering was solid. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio track was okay with no separation between the channels and limited dynamic range; much like other gonzo releases these days.

Body of Review: Seymore Butts is often incorrectly credited for founding gonzo porn shooting although in fairness to the man, he and John Buttman Stagliano did serve to popularize it for a mass audience back in the early 1990's. Now that Seymore refrains from serving as his own primary meat puppet and lacks a special "star" like he used to full advantage back in his prime, his movies often lack the kind of spontaneity and appeal that made the man a hero to many of us porn watchers. In order to offer something different, he focuses the movies he makes for his company, Seymore Butts Home Movies, on two areas; providing males receiving anal sex of some sort and starting his scenes underway as though they were not scripted. Needless to say, we all know (thanks in part to his now cancelled cable TV show Family Business and his own behind the scenes looks at the movies in the making) that they are planned down to the smallest detail and even then they don't usually provide the kind of solid magic the director was known for back in the day. His latest movie is Seymore Butts' America's Got Ass, a title that actually started to show some potential at times for reviving the sagging efforts Seymore has released in the last year, falling short at times but at least showing he was trying to jump start his efforts again. Here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used at all:

Scene One: Thrusday 3:11 P.M.: Sinnamon Love, a curvy black gal, pale white Mariah Heart, and everyone's favorite butt buddy Kurt Lockwood, were all up first as Seymore stumbled upon them in a tent among the greenery. Sinnamon was masturbating with a juice can and reciting a couple of lines as though reading them off a script while Mariah was riding Kurt's modest member. His receding hairline aside, he provided just the right size for her to handle anally without much trouble, as she modestly rode him with some help from Sinnamon as the scene progressed. The gals then double teamed Kurt orally with some salad tossing and fingering of his ass with Sinnamon eventually taking her turn on his rod too. Both gals did anal but Mariah seemed to treat the act like a necessary evil instead of an act she wanted to partake in. The scene eventually ended with a double facial but aside from the anal antics involving one of the most well worn guy asses in California, there really wasn't much chemistry or passion that I could detect.

Scene Two: 2 Days Later: Rucca Page and Kayla Synz, the gals on the front DVD cover, were up next with another guy known for his receiving anal antics, Tom Byron. The gals were blowing him and rimming his ass before fingering him even more readily then Kurt. Both gals had some of the nastiness appeal Seymore tries to provide in his flicks, and Tom has long been comfortable with his feminine side so the scene wasn't bad. The gals actively rode his cock in vaginal and anal positions, the camera getting a bit too heavy on the close ups for my taste but the raw energy was captured like some of Seymore's older works from the mid 1990's. A blow by blow play would be repetitive but the dirty talk seemed unscripted and that added some heat too. There were some slow parts in the scene where it looked like they took it down a notch to keep him from popping a load but the energy was decent and the gals showed a lot of potential worth exploring so I hope to see them in something where more effort is put into the scene then this one had. The kicker this time wad the use of a large glass anal toy on Tom as the ladies jerked him off, adding a kink for those of you into that kind of thing (it looked kind of fun, even if the toy was a bit large).

Scene Three: Wednesday 4:34 P.M.: Veronica Jett, a lean white gal, and curvy black vixen Jada Fire, were up next as they sucked the population pudding out of the cock of metrosexual Christian. For all the online buzz about the guy and his willingness to do people of all types in scenes, he had what looked like the biggest cock of the show as he used a POV camera angle until Seymore took over camera duties. Jada was the roughest of the trio in terms of expressing her raw enthusiasm and the oral was just fine here. Jada gave her usual squirting routine for those that like being pissed on and the active riding was perhaps the best I've seen in months from a Seymore Butts movie. Veronica did a lot of taste testing out of Jada's holes but both gals licked him clean and Jada made sure Christian got lots of the handjobs he appreciated so much. They played with his ass too and rubbed out his load but the scene wasn't bad and displayed some replay value worthy of the Seymore name.

Scene Four: 3 Days Later: Tia Sweets, Sierra Sinn, Scotty Lyons, Herschel Savage, and Tee Reel, were up last as Tee brought Seymore into the orgy being shot. Tia and Sierra were in the middle of taking on Herschel and Scotty; Sierra hammering herself down on Herschel's cock anally while Tia took on modest Scotty. There was a lot going on and the anal quotient was high (especially with regard to ATM's) but Sierra looked really harsh (acne on her face), Scotty looked like he was going to pass out of boredom, and fleshy Tia seemed like her talents were lost in the crowd. The sex acts were all expected and they made up for not showing the beginning by blowing and otherwise handling the men during the rest of the scene but the strength of the scene was in the mechanical energy, not the cast chemistry so your mileage may vary a lot more than it did for me. The DP's, the facials, and the vacant eyes during close ups all served to lower the heat for me as well but fans of the legendary Seymore Butts may appreciate this one more than I did, especially after the cumswapping.

Summary: Seymore Butts' America's Got Ass by director Seymore Butts for his company, Seymore Butts Home Movies was a title that could have gone either way but the relative lack of extras and weaknesses made it fall back down into rent It territory for me. Some of the casting was questionable and other then the aforementioned male anal recipients, the scenes often appeared to be formulaic in nature, losing any spark that started by virtue of following an externally placed barrier or three in the way of simply letting the cast have fun and catching it all on camera. In short, Seymore Butts' America's Got Ass will work for hardcore fans of Seymore's recent efforts best but it was a far cry from the work he used to provide in his heyday of old.
