Extra's: The best extra was clearly the 22 minutes of extra sex provided. While not enough to make up for the relative lack of length of the main movie (at least compared to other titles released by Evil Angel that often last three or more hours), it's always good to see more action that would've otherwise been locked in a vault somewhere, never to be seen again. There was also a lengthy photogallery, a popshot recap, limited filmographies of some of the gals, a biography for John Leslie, and trailers to movies like Naomi: There's Only One, Crack Her Jack, Fresh Meat 21, The Voyeur 31.

Audio/Video Quality: Crack Her Jack 7 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director John Leslie for distribution by Evil Angel. As noted previously, John has long since surpassed the desire to show crystal clear visuals, preferring to focus his efforts on the kind of raw energy and rougher edged look that most of his peers only seem to fall into by mistake, though I'll be the first to admit I'd like his movies to revert back to a more traditional & well lit approach if at all possible. The levels of grain, video noise, and even pattern effects were okay this time and the action lost nothing due to minor flaws on the technical side (the movie was still hot). The composition of the camera angles showed some care put into them, making the ladies virtually always look their best, and this is the strength of John's directorial ability more than anything else (as a producer, he also tends to make fine selections of cast). The 2.0 Dolby Digital audio track was as basic as gonzo porn came be, with limited talking going on outside of John's own directions in the background. The cast could be heard moaning & groaning but this was definitely a limited selection based on audio quality.

Body of Review: John Leslie is nothing short of a living legend to many in porn, a status enhanced by his initial work as a talented actor that later resulted in him directing for Evil Angel. While the guy is one of the oldest living pornographers and in the industry since its beginning in the 1970's (the modern porn industry at least) so you have to admire that he has tried a great many things over the years. These days, he shoots gonzo porn with an artistic flair that serves his niche audience well compared to the churned out product many of his peers offer, though it doesn't always work out as solid stroke material for those who appreciate straightforward gonzo. His latest title to make it to me is Crack Her Jack 7, much like the last volume of the series I reviewed, Crack Her Jack 5, in how spotty some of the performances were. The idea was to limit the direction and go straight for the sex without all the trimming as in some of his other series, working in a few scenes and coming close in others. If you're still interested, here's a brief glimpse into the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used at all:

Scene One: Linda, the gal on the lower left hand corner of the front cover on the motorcycle with limited language skills, Neeo, and Frank Major, were up first in a living room setting as John discussed capturing her on video with the guys. She gave a short striptease and showed that a few miles under her belt were not a problem, though she admittedly looked better on the cover if you like younger women. The only thing I really didn't like about her look was the large shit stain birthmark I've commented about in the past since her MILF appeal was pretty high otherwise. Summary: Crack Her Jack 7 by director John Leslie for distribution by Evil Angel was strictly a Rent It for me. The technical matters were capably handled but the performers were often not really demonstrating their skills to the best of their abilities, lowering the levels of fuck for the buck, replay and strokability. In short, Crack Her Jack 7 wasn't as skillfully made as Crack Her Jack 5 and it will work best as a one time means to launch some population pudding into a wad of tissue rather than serve as a showcase for the talents of the legendary director.
