Audio/Video Quality: Club Jenna's Casting Couch 1 was presented in a couple of aspect ratios as I believe the scenes were shot over a period of time by director Dic Tracy for Club Jenna. Most of the scenes were either shot or processed to provide an anamorphic widescreen presentation of 1.85:1 with Nadia's scene in full frame for some reason. The specific dates of the individual scenes were not disclosed but given the look of some of the ladies, I'd be surprised if some of them weren't taken before the production date on the box cover. I also got the impression that the letterboxed scene and anamorphic scenes were originally shot in full frame and then converted after the fact but you can check on that fact yourselves. Each scene showed some rudimentary flaws on the technical aspects, almost as if they were truly shot as test scenes to never be released, but the overall quality of the lighting, camera work, and processing (such as editing) wasn't bad if they were trying for a low budget look to the action. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English with a 192 Kbps transfer rate. It sounded too low and hollow, almost as if the microphone used was the one on the camera in the scenes. In all, the music was bland and this was an area needing a great deal more work in future volumes.

Body of Review: Dic Tracy has worked for some of the biggest names in porn as a production assistant in recent years. His BTS work often adds a lot of humor and his current status at Club Jenna has proven that he is a survivor, though I'm surprised that he hasn't been given more of an opportunity to direct until recently. His first title to make it to my hands is Club Jenna's Casting Couch 1, a series of gonzo vignettes that show ladies interviewed before having sex with a single partner; perhaps to see what they offered the company for work or a contract. The interviews were punctuated by pop up videos to add some humor, working as often as not but demonstrating the lack of a hook better than anything else. The back cover said it like this: "From the murky depths of the Club Jenna machine comes the swankiest of gonzo features - Club Jenna's Casting Couch, by Dic Tracy. Drench yourself in a truly creative movie, combining raw gonzo action and slick animation like you've never seen before! The first of its kind (and the first in an all new series from the masters of adult entertainment), this flick brings you hours of dripping wet fun moistened for your pleasure. This first installment of Casting Couch features five big names - before you came to love them as adult superstars. Watch how Lauren Phoenix, Vanessa Lane, Nadia Styles, Leah Luv, and Penny Flame make you squirm in your seat with hours of blistering hot action! The most creative minds in the business have slashed up conventional sex scenes to bring you primal passion with a hilarious twist sure to please the pervert in us all. So take your seat on the couch-o-fun, strap yourself in, and cast your vote for shameless sex!" I like most of the cast so for me it made sense to check out and if this sounds interesting to you, read the following scene breakdowns that accurately reflect the cast and actions, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Penny Flame, the 420 friendly hotty who has been making waves as a director, was up first on the couch as she was interviewed. The animated icons that added some humor (much like some of the Jack's Playground stuff) was cute but the best part was when she showed the world why she was such a hotty, teasing the camera before blowing Marcus London in a heated manner. They proceeded to screw in a number of positions, many of them looking uncomfortable, and the anamorphic shot scene lasted about 23 minutes, showing little chemistry between them but a pretty fair performance nonetheless by Penny before the load of population pudding hit her freckled face.

Scene Two: Lauren Phoenix, the well known anal queen that I haven't seen much of lately, was up next in a different room on a couch (wooden walls, white couch) wearing a subdued outfit as she discussed how long she was in the industry. The scene was shot when she was in the industry a couple of years and Doni Blass was the lucky guy to do this anal scene with her. It lasted 26.5 minutes, starting out with them taking turns doing oral on each other (though not much) and quickly moving to penetrative sex. She was an active rider of cock and seemed to prefer impaling herself on him instead of having him do most of the work as others in the industry go for. She wasn't as active during the anal this time but it was still a decent ride overall. I have long known her to appreciate a good cock in her ass and the mouth of jizz was taken in nicely, the gal providing some post coital sucking before the scene faded away.

Scene Three: Vanessa Lane, a cute implant queen wearing a light purple bikini, seemed a bit camera struck when asked a few of the questions but claimed that this was shot when she was in porn for just a year. There was less of the funny pop up videos this time (probably due to the fact that it was one of the last shot, or maybe the first) but after the interview, she worked with Marcus London; a guy that licked her up and down in a successful effort to please her. The scene lasted about 29 minutes and the full frame did not really hurt it as much as the focus issues but in terms of displaying some passion, she was second only to Vanessa as they went at one another. She blew him to erection, deepthroating him and otherwise showing some of the energy lacking in a great number of contract gals, with the oral alone worth the price of the scene. As with most of the other scenes, it was vaginal only but she was an active ride and that made it worth checking out. Whether they had some chemistry or she was just a solid performer was a tough call this time but I've long liked the way she handles her scenes and the intermittent breaks for him to diddle her and her to blow him were nice changes of pace before the facial and chest shot of population pudding took place.

Scene Five: Leah Luv, a skinny blonde that is well known for a lot of things in porn, was up last in a leopard print outfit for her interview in a chair that led to her moving onto the bed with Tyler Knight. Tyler went down on her as she spread her legs, commenting on the cookie a bit as he teased her to elevate the heat levels (it worked!). The scene lasted 25 minutes including the ending credits and had both of them doing a fine job orally, with more of the rough edges on the technical side that the other scenes had displayed, showing some potential but also making me wonder what producer Jim Enright, a talented director in his own right, was thinking by not stepping in. The oral lasted half the scene and he started tapping her pussy pretty hard but he did most of the work so it wasn't the best scene of the day. In short, it ended with a facial but was perhaps the weakest of the lot, with her over the top vocals punctuating the need for acting lessons on her part.

Summary: Club Jenna's Casting Couch 1 by director Dic Tracy for Club Jenna showed a lot more technical weaknesses than usual for the company but at the same time provided a glimpse into the making of a director from a very rough, unpolished piece of clay. The ladies were not always at their best and some of the technical matters weakened the scenes but I still found the amount of replay, strokability, and fuck for the buck to be pretty high; even if the extras sucked donkey balls so I rated it as Recommended. In short, Club Jenna's Casting Couch 1 seemed almost like a pet project tossed together by a couple of people but managed to use animation well and add in some laughs with a few of my favorite performers in tow to give it enough strengths to overcome the weaknesses present. I hope to see the director improve over time if the series continues, albeit I hope he improves quickly.
