Extra's: The best extra from my standpoint was the 30 minute Behind the Scenes feature by Johnny Thrust that included much of the cast goofing off and either getting ready for their scenes or having some sex in between interviews. It was playful and fun but not all that it could have been (and I wished they added the names for everyone, not just a limited few). There was also a pop shot compilation from the scenes, some trailers, a photogallery, some spam and a true second side to the DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: The Hitchhiker was presented in 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Jim Powers for Sin City. It was the best looking movie he's shot of late; well handled on technical levels with the lighting eliminating grain, video noise, and other minor issues. Part of this was thanks to the theme of the show; scenes done in dream sequences at night much of the time, but it was a step up from his last title on DVD. I saw no compression artifacts and the flesh tones were accurate, making most of the scenes look relatively good by comparison to previous works of this type by Jim. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English and sounded similar to his other recent works; never straying too far from the formula he feels comfortable with. The vocals were hollow at times, rarely sounding properly captured for the movie. The use of interesting music wasn't a problem but as expected, it was dubbed in later and as a result the rhythms weren't always quite in synch with the sex; thankfully though, the music wasn't a huge factor in the movie.

Body of Review: Jim Powers is the award winning director working largely at Sin City these days. I've really liked a number of his movies in the past, from some of the creepy features to the completely twisted vignettes he sometimes offers. His latest release is The Hitchhiker, a feature where Van Damage plays a hapless loser that picks up a hot gal along the roadway, only to find he got more than he bargained for. The cover said it like this: "It's a long lonely and dangerous highway. No place for a pretty young girl, unless she's a cock crazy road slut on Route 69 with nothing but sex on her dirty little mind! Sin City brings you an outrageous tale of six psychotic little highway whores whose idea of fun is being picked up by total strangers out on the interstate, and showing them how to really drive it home. It's a crash course in pumpin' gas and pounding ass, backseat blowjobs, and a high speed trip up Anal Avenue that dead ends right in the middle of an all night orgy in overdrive...Fasten your seatbelts!" If this sounds good to you, here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used at all:

Scene One: Chelsie Rae, an exceptionally cute blonde with an all natural body, was up first in the living room with third tier mope squad wannabe Van Damage (the guy best known for his spotted dick, allegedly due to a common STD). The short skirts really enhanced their look and the way they started making out was great. The gals sucking face routine is always a classic in my mind so when they began stripping each other, I figured it would only be a moment before they invited him to join them and I was right. The ladies took turns slobbing his knob, each adding something to the dynamic of the scene before he began banging them hard. He provided a little bit of oral to warm them up, the gals actively riding his cock as a result. I enjoyed how they played with each other and only wish that both took part in the anal action, settling for the non-anal queen to do some ATOGM (ass to other gal's mouth) before the resulting wad of population pudding launching into the mouth with some cumswapping. There was a little more chemistry this time but the replay value was on the low side.

Scene Four: Rebeca Linares, the hotty on the front cover, was up next with another lame male performer, Jenner, on the side of the deserted road. Scene Five: Alicia Angel, Lexi Belle, Chelsie Rae, Alex Sanders, and Van Damage, were up in the obligatory orgy after a satanic ritual of incredibly silly magnitude (the use of the Klingon Bat'leth; a cool sword of sorts was about the only sane thing in it; go figure!). It was a mish mash of partnering up by the players, resulting in some heat generated but Alex was half asleep at the wheel, Van was...well, he was himself, and the gals were alternating between channeling the spirit of Erik Everhard and wanting to finish up and go home. The oral and penetrative sex included a short DP with Alicia being the most active and versatile performer of the bunch. The facials were cumswapped and the goofy dialogue closed out with a short replay of the opener before the credits rolled.

Summary: The Hitchhiker by director Jim Powers for Sin City proved that even a solid cast of hot ladies could not save a weakly acted feature relying on men of dubious quality (Lee was okay) and a limited premise. Still, it had some stroke value and Chelsie, the female lead, reminds me of a young Alexa Rae (a personal favorite and former Wicked Pictures contract gal) even if her non-sex work here was on the weak side. The levels of fuck for the buck, replay and stroke value were such that I felt The Hitchhiker was still worth a rating of Rent It but big fans of the cast might like it even more.
