Extra's: The best extra was a 20.5 minute scene between Chavon Taylor and Mike. It followed the same rudimentary formula of the other scenes but I could see why it wasn't included in the movie itself as they lacked any chemistry at all; remanding the scene to the extras section being the best way to handle it even though they mechanically seemed to do okay. The second best extra was easily the 36.5 minute Behind the Scenes feature that combined bits from the scenes as well as background material including a lot of nudity and tease. The funny habits the performers engage in on set was displayed too but it had some stroke value as well as entertainment value as there was often a stationary camera on a tripod capturing the action between Mike and the ladies (perhaps to prove he was indeed the one screwing them). The result was a BTS heavy on sex so I'm sure most of you will appreciate the sentiment behind it. There was a cumshot recap, a lengthy photogallery, and a double sided DVD cover, and lots of trailers too but not much was worth extra points outside of the bonus scene and BTS.

Audio/Video Quality: POV Pervert #8 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Mike John for distribution by Jules Jordan Video. The fleshtones were accurate, the lighting well done, and the grain was minimal this time, probably as much due to Mike's abilities as those of his production assistant here, Tim Von Swine. The lack of added detail an anamorphic mastering would have given it could have enhanced the scenes more than a little bit, but the compositional work always seemed to enhance the look of the ladies a lot so I won't fuss at the poor decision to stick with the outdated method of shooting the scene. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English with no separation and relatively minimal dynamic range but the vocals were dominant throughout and clearly discernable too.

Body of Review: Mike John is one of the quietest gonzo directors in porn these days, many of his peers using the kind of testosterone bravado fighters of old employed before a big fight. In short, he lets his work stand for itself, typically proving to be some of the best point of view (POV) gonzo you'll find in the industry these days. Now that he works for Jules Jordan Video, or at least has his works distributed by them, he has pushed the limits of his work in several ways, also keeping up with his peers there by providing solid amounts of fuck for the buck to appease fans. His latest flick is POV Pervert #8: Special Edition, a series that we have long appreciated at DVD Talk, where aging Mike has sex with a variety of youthful gals typically less than half his age with an emphasis on oral and anal in most cases. Fans of POV long knowing how qualified he is with a camera, tend to appreciate all he offers them, making this one a no-brainer for them to pick up while I spend some time describing the scenes for those less familiar with the near legendary director. That said, here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used at all:

Scene One: Bree Olson, the "super sexy" blonde seen on the upper left hand corner of the front cover, was up first as she kicked back on the couch in her blue jean shorts and pink tank top, skipping all the usual scenario BS in favor of her simply rubbing herself with some assistance from director Mike John. As the title states, the camera work was all done in point of view by Mike, the kind of camera angle that lets the home viewer fantasize that they are engaged in the sexual activity with the lady. Granted, not all of the ladies were as skilled as his best gals but the strokability levels, replay factor, and amount of fuck for the buck were all enough to elevate the movie into the Recommended status by me; probably even worthy of the next step if you are a big fan of the cast and can overlook a couple of weaker performances. In short, POV Pervert #8: Special Edition was another title you can rely on for your personal needs if you like point of view action as much as I do.
