Extra's: There were some decent extras offered up this time, including my favorite of the bunch being the 16.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Graham Crack Herr. There was some interview material, additional nudity, and a sense of playfulness amongst the performers and crew that served to establish the movie as full of chemistry. Most of you will appreciate the five unrelated bonus scenes (I outlined four of them below); $2 Bill starring Lanny Barby & Evan Stone; Wild Poppy: with Dasha and Dillion Day; Perfect, with Chennin Blanc, Wendy Maya Divine, Eric Masterson, and Cheyne Collins; Lacie's Life starring Lacie Heart and James Deen; Groupie starring Tawny Roberts and Evan Stone; but they were mostly from older flicks and looked poorly mastered so your mileage may vary. There was also a short text biography for lovely Lanny Barby, two photogalleries, a second side for the DVD cover that showed four new titles released on DVD (instead of the less explicit version of the primary cover as the company has used for years), some spam (including a front commercial that could be skipped by remote control), and trailers to movies like Dinner Party, Sexy Young Thing, Colors, and Illicit.

Audio/Video Quality: Burnt Fury was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment. For those unfamiliar with his background, suffice it to say that his experience outside of porn is superior to many inside the industry and it shows up in his movies, including this one as shot in HD, though presented in the SD format (for now) as shot in 1080i to provide a lot of resolution supporting some of the effects (making it look more like a real movie than just a porno). The lighting was reasonably well handled as was the camera work, limiting the grain, video noise, and other distracting flaws seen all too often in porn these days; the feature portions shot in a stark manner to augment the comedic aspects of the movie. The composition of the camera angles managed to enhance the look of the ladies while complimenting the suspenseful portions of the feature, a trick that I really wish the director could share with some of his industry peers (not just at Vivid either). The fleshtones were largely accurate and the DVD mastering well done, making it one of the better looking titles in recent memory. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital offering with the vocals sounding flat and the music pretty decent. For some reason, the levels were lower than usual but aside from the added background noise from doing so, the dynamic range was average and the separation of the vocal track nonexistent.

Body of Review: B. Skow is currently one of my favorite directors working at Vivid Entertainment. He has a lot of creative ability and his technical skills seem to be derived from work in the mainstream arena rather than learned through trial and error when handed a camera like so many others in the industry. His latest movie is called Burnt Fury, a comedy feature about two cops played by the mighty Evan Stone and muscular Tommy Gunn; two of the top male performers in porn at this writing. They are on the case of a serial murderer who targets hookers, giving them ample time to sample the merchandise as a result. While the dialogue was as over the top as you would expect from a feature relying heavily on Evan as the lead character, the sex was top notch all the way, especially for fans of the lovely Lanny Barby. Here's what the boxcover said about it: "When an ingénue heads to America to find fame and fortune in Hollywood, her mother does what any normal red-blooded European mother would do: she puts a hit out on a gaggle of porn stars to discourage her daughter from going XXX. Join adult's hottest brunette bombshell, Lanny Barby, in "Burnt Fury", the new Vivid romp that's part police story and part "Story of 'O'." Guaranteed to spring you, from wherever you are." It was another solid hit from the director and a great showcase for the sexual talents of Lanny. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that some condoms were used:

Scene One: After Party: Regan Reese, a gal that looked like she'd be right at home in just about any alt-porn title, was up first as she actively rode the cock of the mighty Evan Stone in a cheesy bed. His cop gear was strewn about the room and it was clear there had been a lot of partying going on as the two fucked and sucked all over the room, the scene starting in with him handcuffed to the bedpost before boning her pussy as she loudly moaned and groaned in pleasure. She proved to be quite a suck slut, doing PTM and giving him a taste of her pussy at the same time in a 69. Scene Two: Witness Tampering: Lanny Barby, the incredibly hot contract gal featured on the front cover, was up next in a skimpy black outfit (much like the one in the mainstream hit, Pretty Woman, worn by Julia Roberts) in a blonde wig. Whew!

Scene Three: Victim's Rights: Lanny Barby, having lost the wig and wearing another sexy dress, was up next in bed after some funny off screen undressing, with Tommy Gunn in bed. These two looked made for one another with her hot curves and his muscular physique, each tending orally to the other as though they wanted to do it more than simply following orders. Scene Five: Setting The Trap: Lanny Barby, in a revealing dress that proved her appeal yet again, was up with award winning hotty Hillary Scott in a bed for the ending lesbian scene. I know that conventional wisdom in porn holds that this kind of scene is best buried deep inside the folds of the movie rather than as an opener or closer but given who we're talking about; this proved to be a solid choice as they fingered, ate, and otherwise went at one another in the bed. Hillary was quite vocal in telling Lanny what she wanted from her friend, the couple kissing and taste testing in between the titty play and other sexual antics. The only toys used was a light purple dildo (who decided that choice of color?!?) that was used primarily by Lanny when drilling Hillary after the clear dildo was tapped into Lanny by Hillary.

Bonus Scene One: $2 Bill: "Lanny Barby, the hotty on the front DVD cover and well known Canadian beauty, was up first as she provided a private dance for the mighty Evan Stone inside a strip club's VIP room. Her teasing gyrations on the metal pool, the way she gave him those sultry looks and the generally seductive manner she employed all enhanced the preliminaries here before she orally attacked his penis with her loving mouth on the purple velour couch. She had a different outfit on than she wore on the cover, this time sporting a black top, tiny blue jean skirt and fishnet stockings (typically called "slutware"). The point of this scene was to establish Evan (as the lead singer of the group) as the kind of down and dirty type to win the bet. To do so, he went right to tapping her fine little pussy (albeit with a condom) before she whipped off the condom for some very warm head. She's grown more talented orally since I last saw her and this aspect of the scene was fun to watch but some of you will inevitably prefer the anal that came afterwards. Bonus Scene Three: Wild Poppy: Dasha and real life significant other Dillion had the next scene. Summary: Burnt Fury by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment was worthy of being Highly Recommended thanks to the levels of replay value, strokability, and fuck for the buck as much as the multitude of Lanny Barby scenes present. The technical aspects were creative and interesting with some decent extras to add to the mix. If you like cop capers that employ humor and raw sexuality in heated pairings, Burnt Fury will be a good one for you to pick up. I can only hope that the director makes this a series, as alluded to in the BTS feature. Good work!
