Audio/Video Quality: Fresh Meat 23 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director John Leslie for distribution by Evil Angel. As noted previously, John has long since surpassed the desire to show crystal clear visuals, preferring to focus his efforts on the kind of raw energy and rougher edged look that most of his peers only seem to fall into by mistake, though I'll be the first to admit I'd like his movies to revert back to a more traditional & well lit approach if at all possible. The levels of grain, video noise, and even pattern effects were okay this time and the action lost nothing due to minor flaws on the technical side (the movie was still hot but the bitrate typically hovered in under 3 Mbps and it showed). The composition of the camera angles showed some care put into them, making the ladies virtually always look their best, and this is the strength of John's directorial ability more than anything else (as a producer, he also tends to make fine selections of cast). The 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio track (in 192 Kbps) was as basic as gonzo porn came be, with limited talking going on outside of John's own directions in the background. The cast could be heard moaning & groaning but this was definitely a limited selection based on audio quality.

Body of Review: John Leslie is currently the most well rounded director in the Evil Angel stable, having been a performing legend long before most in the industry these days were out of diapers. I could rant about his characters and wickedly devious mannerisms back in the classic age but his focus is now on crafting the movies so I'll stick to that instead. I'll admit that I prefer a lot of light and straightforward manner to my porn but John is one of the few directors that has shown the ability to transcend, albeit briefly, the usual boundaries of the genre and offer creative glimpses into a look that sometimes doesn't work as well as others but always allows for fans to see why the young bucks still have a long way to go. His latest release is Fresh Meat 23: Little Titties & Tight Asses, the thematic sequel to Fresh Meat 22; a series devoted to women that are not used up by the time John gets to showcase them in his scenes. The casting this time was almost inspired in providing a different look but maintaining the youth appeal so many of you seek; their sexual skills also in various states of development from what I saw too. I'll tell you up front that the power of the movie was strong but you can check out my descriptions for more detail if that is what you want to do before getting a copy. Here's a rundown of what to expect, noting that no condoms were employed here:

Scene One: Chelsie Rae, the sexy blonde on the lower left hand cover of the front DVD case, was up first in a scene with Erik Everhard and Mr. Marcus. The extras sucked but the length of the movie and act that there were no filler scenes was enough to warrant a rating of Highly Recommended this time; showing that Fresh Meat 23: Little Titties & Tight Asses, far surpassed Fresh Meat 22 in terms of strokability, replay value, and amount of quality fuck for the buck in the movie. If John were this consistently on the mark all the time, I have no doubt that he'd be the one running the show but I'm just grateful that he still finds the ability to knock them out of the park like this.
