Extra's: For many of you, the best extra will be the fair scene between Kirsten Price and Eric Masterson taken from Supernatural. Personally, I like new extras that are geared towards the release in hand so I enjoyed the 16:50 minute long Behind the Scene feature by talented Mark Stone more but I prefer unique extras in my movies more than most so your mileage may vary accordingly (especially if you already have the movie in question). There was more sex, nudity, and short interviews as Mark meandered around the sets of the flick, talking with cast and crew, spending a lot of time trying to get the inside scoop from director Michael. There were also the usual photogalleries (6) and 3 Star Stats, a whole 4 minutes of bloopers from the multi-day shoot, the 2007 Promotional Reel, spam, DVD Catalog of Wicked Pictures titles, the usual DVD ROM material, and trailers to movies like The Visitors, Gossip, Eternity, Camp Cuddly Pines, Hook Ups, Curse Eternal, Mobsters, and Manhunters. There was also a cardboard protective sleeve on the DVD case and a double sided cover for those who care.

Audio/Video Quality: Desires was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director Michael Raven for Wicked Pictures as shot & mastered in High Definition. The DVD was not another HD DVD release (a shame too) but it did look a lot alike some of his work on film in the past (with the grain to prove it). Michael used various lighting effects to achieve his artistic vision but it left me feeling ill at ease given the various issues. The colors were over saturated or washed out (depending on the scene), the grain was more plentiful than usual, but the composition of the shots tended to be quite favorable to the cast. There were no compression artifacts (it was typically showing a bitrate of mid 5 Mbps) or video noise that I saw but the overall impression the movie left with me was that someone messed with the camera settings and forgot to fix them at times. The audio was presented with a choice of either a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English (with a bitrate of 384 Kbps) or a 2.0 DD track in Spanish. I listened to the English track and while I didn't hear any appreciable separation on the audio, it was nicely put together otherwise. Still, as limited the audio was in this low budget vignette, it was handled pretty well overall.

Body of Review: Michael Raven has been a fixture in porn for a long time; his recent work for Wicked Pictures showing a lot of quality. His latest release is Desires, a showcase piece of five vignettes with contract gal Kirsten Price in the lead. There wasn't a lot of thematic material here to speak of and the scenes were usually short with limited dialogue but as a short couples flick, it had some merit. Here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Mikayla, a curvy brunette with a sweet looking ass, was up first with Eric Masterson outside by the fountain. She was the trophy wife full of sexual desires that her old man (Herschel in this case) could not give her so she savored the younger cock as she slobbed his knob. Eric might not have a huge cock but she did not appear to care as she slurped up on it handily. They screwed in a couple of positions but she was largely passive (if too loud) and the ending was of population pudding to her chin and chest seemed far too early for me.

Scene Two: Daisy Marie, another Latina, though this time a bit leaner, was up next in the bedroom at night with aging lothario Herschel Savage. He had his hand in her panties really quickly and was eating her out in no time but the chemistry was lacking from what I could see. The dominance of music over the vocals did not help in this regard either, though I'll be the first to admit that she offered up a sweet hummer before the limited screwing showed the age disparate couple bumping uglies. She did her best to make it a better scene by actively pushing back in the doggy work and cowgirl but it was a mechanical ride in my opinion and only worth a viewing or two. He jerked off to her mouth to finish up, marking a better scene than the last one but still on the margin compared to some of the best releases by Wicked Pictures.

Scene Three: Harmony, a cute gal with pretty eyes, was up next with Randy Spears and Marcus London, inside the house. The lighting effects made me think they were on the mothership from Close Encounters of the Third Kind or screwing inside of a tanning bed; washing out the color to a large extent. A little bit of this kind of special effect goes a long way for me and while I still thought she did a fine job with the two meat puppets, too much detail was lost because of the lighting employed here to make it worth watching twice. They diddled one another and the men worked her over orally as well as with their fingers, getting head form the comely lass before porking her pussy one at a time. The men never did her anally and ended it by rubbing out loads to her face with the gal giving them some post coital sucking.

Scene Four: Rita Faltoyano, the foreign beauty queen with lengthy hair and a collection of body moles second to none, was up next in a darkened room with a spotlight on her and Eric Masterson. The strange music was not helpful to the scene but I have to hand it to her for being able to generate heat; the gal sucks a mean dick. Eric was left stunned as she showed him her skills, coming back to life when it came time to poke her pussy hardcore style. She was passive except when she was on top; the scene showing her grunting as she impaled herself on his modest member with some sweet hip gyration (looking like some of Ginger Lynn's old work in fact). This was another scene where the guy tossed his own load; the least appealing way for a scene to end in my book.

Scene Five: Kirsten Price, the contract gal on the front cover, was up next with her real life significant other, rocker Barrett Blade. The setting was a booth in an adult arcade with Barrett getting ready to toss one off as he watched a porno. She walked in to assist him, her frilly green top staying out of the way as she applied hand and mouth coordination to his rod. He looks like he's gained weight of late, perhaps settling down causing this to happen, but he held his wad longer than expected no thanks to her wonderful blowjob. Her active riding skills ended his ability to hold out for very long though, the two position horizontal mambo finishing up with a modest facial. The hummer was great and their chemistry the best of the movie but the limits of the scene too much to overcome to make it a good scene.

Scene Six: Kirsten Price, Mikayla, Harmony, Eric Masterson, Randy Spears, and Herschel Savage, were all up last in a final orgy at night outside on the patio. It was a relatively short scene and the camera kept bouncing around between the couples so the best part of it all was the overall feel of the action since the oral the gals performed on the men and the vaginal rides all cut away too quickly. This was about as vanilla of an orgy as I've seen, especially from a company that used to offer lengthy orgies in the form of the parties a few years back. Like all multiple couple pairings, the choice between one group or another kept the camera too busy to capture any of the action as effectively as possible; the scene ending with a series of facials.

Bonus Scene: Supernatural: Kirsten Price, barely dressed in some skimpy lingerie, was up first in a luxurious living room with Eric Masterson. The two made out and kissed, acting like young lovers more than porn performers as they savored the moment together. He went down on her and she reciprocated, neither spending enough time before the active riding style she employed on his cock with her pussy. Like all the scenes, condoms were used but as I've said in the past, they don't really get in the way in a contemporary feature, certainly not a scene like this. They had fun with each other but as aggressive as she was in riding him, they really didn't seem to have a lot of chemistry together, especially after he popped his load on her lower abdomen.

Summary: Desires by director Michael Raven for Wicked Pictures was worth a rating of Rent It to me for the level of moderately appealing sex, the weaker technical values, and the reasonable extras. The lack of chemistry and heat in most scenes struck me as the biggest issue here but the technical values really struck as problematic for those not seeking something extremely artistic. In that sense, Desires might be strokable for some of you that haven't seen a lot of porn but the rest of us will find it to be on the weak side.
