Extra's: Shane's World is known for the plentiful extras that add a lot of entertainment value. Such was the case here with the 101:24 minutes worth of Behind the Scenes footage (some of it really interesting in how it showed the cast at work; getting more sex and having a drunken ball). The additional sex footage took center stage this time with clips from each of the three titles used for the compilation from what I could see. There were also trailers to movies like Devon Does Baja, Casey's Pool Party, College Amateur Tour in Texas, College Invasion, Guide To Anal Sex, Girls Night Out 1, Girls Night Out 2, Shane's World 37, Shane's World 36, Shane's World Swingers, and Shane's World: Nerdz as well as a double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Best of College Invasion was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame as shot by an Uncredited Director for Shane's World. If you've ever watched any of their uncredited titles, you'll know that the quality of their work can vary considerably so it's one of my pet peeves considering that knowledge of who directs something allows a consumer to have some basic information to guide their purchase. This time, the editing was again pretty good, but the lighting varied more than usual (probably due to the age of the material) though still eliminating most of the grain, video noise, and other issues related to lighting. There were a lot of silly parts that I'm glad weren't edited out as they made it more fun to watch but the rougher edges of the older titles was clearly in evidence too. The composition of the shots weren't always designed to enhance the looks of the ladies and make them appear as hot as possible but these were some of the choicest picks that could have been made; no enhancement really needed. The DVD showed no major compression artifacts or mastering issues (though the video had a bitrate hovering around the lower 3 Mbps range much of the time) and looked like a great release overall for the company (shame I again can't credit anyone as director for it). The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in 192 Kbps) and like many other releases by the company, the vocals were almost always hard to hear with no real separation noticed or major dynamic range to speak of as with the other noisy party titles the company puts out these days.

Body of Review: Shane's World is currently my favorite company when it comes to providing spontaneous, playful, and fun porn that eschews the formulaic style most releases offer these days as well as skips the trend towards circus act sex many fans find lame. Their market is definitely skewed towards the younger crowd, particularly college students, many of their movies generating substantial amounts of controversy across the nation as the company has set up shop around college campuses at the invitation of fraternities everywhere. Their heavy focus on college sex began with Shane's World 32: Campus Invasion and spawned a cottage industry with their College Invasion series which is the subject of today's review of Best of College Invasion. Clocking in at over four hours long, the movie combines scenes from the first three volumes of the series; with a major concentration on the first two releases in the series. If you've never seen them (this was my first time with the first two volumes too), this is a solid manner in which to check them out, though my own experience with College Invasion 3 was such that I think I'd prefer to experience all of them as individual releases given the high levels of fun factor the series is known for.

As far as the action was concerned, the scenes did not appear to have any specific theme or order, bouncing around between the volumes freely as the slightly rough looking (at times) and loudness (remember that most of the scenes took place at huge parties and/or in back rooms of said parties) contributed to the general dynamic. There were silly contests where men with the balls to bare it all or act like drunken fools could win the chance at having sex with one of the performers; typically a blowjob, handjob, or even a bout of vaginal boning. Granted, the amateur men were typically the least endowed and unable to last very long (reaffirming the belief that only a select few guys in the word are cut out for the industry, no matter how good we men think we are in the sack) but the women showed a lot of appreciation that they weren't working with the usual meat puppets that are so jaded or into other things (like men!); the addition of fresh blood adding some spark to the action.

In that sense, who among us wouldn't brave embarrassment, after enough alcohol at least, to tempt fate and get maced, hit with paintballs, bob for tampons, or other silliness for a shot at some well known pussy? Other scenes showed spring breakers having a good time in their drunken revelry or guys going out on a date with a porn start that led to them getting some play. Off the top of my head, there was only one major anal scene and the largest pop shot facial was by a guy named Frank who must've been abstaining for a month given his Peter North sized load. The Behind the Scenes montage from the three volumes also focused largely on the sex too, skipping a lot of the material I enjoy watching in favor of the material that is better suited for replay value, the series dynamic of spontaneity maintained in virtually all cases. They might be set ups in the general sense but they appeared to be primarily unscripted with some of the funniest comments made by the amateurs ("I had to piss the whole time"). Here are the scenes in order of their appearance, noting that some were quite short (or short on sex as some of them focused more on the contests than the actual sexual release involved) but others were lengthy with lots of strokable action:

Summary: Best of College Invasion by Shane's World was a lot of fun for me and as a big fan of the series (though a relative late comer in some ways since I've mostly seen the later, more polished volumes of the series; check them out at College Invasion Series) I thought this was a compilation worthy of being rated at least Recommended for the playful sexual antics of various skilled porn performers taking on lucky college guys all across the country. The mix of the scenes from the three volumes of the original series might have been skewed towards the initial volumes but as an overview of what they provided, it served the purpose quite well with highly strokable, replayable sex scenes. In short, Best of College Invasion would have been better as a straightforward set of the three volumes as originally released but this distilled version was a cut above the pack in terms of offering up copious quantities of fuck for the buck action at a reasonable price. Good job!
