Extra's: The best extra was the 15:17 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Jason Silver; the company regular for this kind of thing. One of the things I really liked about the BTS was the way it edited in some extra sex footage with bits of the movie being shot, showing Tory taking an active role in the production with assistance from her talented crew including Jim Powers on camera. How much control she had over it may be subject for debate but her paw prints were all over it and the movie was clearly better handled than the last of the series I reviewed awhile back (by Aurora Snow). There was also a pop shot compilation from the scenes, trailers, a photogallery, spam, and a true double sided DVD cover for those who care; only the BTS striking me as worthwhile here.

Audio/Video Quality: Assploitations 8 was presented in 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Tory Lane for Mayhem. This was the first movie of Tory's that I have seen with her as director, and it was reasonably well handled on technical levels with some of the lighting causing grain, video noise, and other minor issues. I wish I had seen the previous volume in the series to compare this one with, that being Tory's debut as director from what I'm led to believe, though the buzz is that she is a figurehead director in most ways so I'll leave it up to you to decide if that is true or not. I saw few compression artifacts (probably due to the bitrate of the video being in the mid 2 Mbps) and the flesh tones were accurate at times but washed out in a few other scenes, making most of the scenes look much like the output some of the other directors for the company have offered (suspiciously similar at that). The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (192 Kbps bitrate) and sounded like an improvement over his last volume in the series, Dementia 3. The use of interesting music wasn't a problem but as expected, it was dubbed in later and as a result the rhythms weren't always quite in synch with the sex; thankfully though, the music wasn't a huge factor in the movie.

Body of Review: Tory Lane is known as one of the hottest gals in porn for how she approaches her scenes. The manner in which she throws herself into the action has long made her a favorite of mine, albeit with the understanding that sometimes she goes overboard using a performance mode that is kind of mechanical when she isn't into her partner of the scene. Still, now that she is directing for Mayhem, I expect more from her as she now has the kind of control to make her scenes really cater to her own inner demons, which is why I was keen to see her newest movie, Assploitations 8; a series I last saw helmed by Aurora Snow in Assploitations 5. The movie started out as though a feature where she needed to find women that would do anal tricks for money but the premise was quickly dropped as though something happened to the budget. While this is not uncommon in porn, it always gives me the feeling that the true behind the scenes story included some major screw ups worth knowing about. The good side of this is that the sex was as hardcore as Jim Powers, oops, I mean Tory has ever shot in the past, the emphasis being on anal in a variety of ways. If that sounds good to you, here is a short breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Tory Lane, the director and curvy hotty seen on the front cover, was up first as she sought out a gal willing to do anal for cash. Tory had short hair that made her look like a dyke and she came across redheaded anal queen Audrey Hollander (who played an airhead at a stripclub). Audrey's booty shorts enhanced the look of her sweet ass and her white top did little to reveal her breasts so she was an easy mark for Tory's quest for a playmate. They began the action in the back seat of the SUV, Tory fingering and going down on her pal as they drove through the city, Audrey lending a hand as she jammed multiple fingers up her own ass while Tory waved to passers by. Once they got to the bedroom, Otto Bauer and Jay Lassiter were waiting for the ladies; the gals sharing the cocks aggressively as they worked the men over in true hardcore fashion. Otto always works well with Audrey (they are a real life couple) and Jay wasn't too bad but the scene showed a lot of anal and DP with Audrey also doing a nasty DAP (both cocks up her ass at the same time) before the end. There was also taste testing (ATM and ATOGM being one permutation), rough sex and slapping, and some of the choking a number of you like to see. I was always left with the impression that the gals were in control of the sex acts and getting off, elevating the levels of heat to match the chemistry. My biggest issue with the scene was that Tory was largely there for oral and window dressing, perhaps building up to her later scenes but frustrating nonetheless. The men did Audrey every which way but loose until she took the anal creampies that Tory seemed to enjoy licking up, marking it as the most extreme scene of the movie.

Scene Two: Heather Gables, a blond gal with a love of cock, was up next with Tory Lane, Rick Masters, and Alex Gonz, in a scene by a large fountain. Initially, the scene showed the ladies playing together in true lesbian fashion as they licked and fingered each other but the men came into play to give Heather the abusive workout she claimed to desire; drilling her mouth and ass more than anything else. She was an active rider of cock and while I was left yet again wondering why Tory disappeared, Heather seemed capable of handling these two easily, even in the DP portion of the sunlit scene. The sex was mechanical in nature, never achieving the levels of passion that the last scene did but given who she was being compared to (and having to work with in the scene), that almost goes without saying. The pop shots were rubbed out onto her anal gape and Tory came back to savor their taste with her tongue; cumswapping the population pudding with Heather before the scene faded away.

Scene Three: Victoria Sin, a skinny brunette wearing the usual slutware clothing, was up next as Tory Lane pulled a series of large black anal balls out of her ass lesbian still on a bed before Billy Glide replaced them with his cock. I would have preferred more tease and set up here but at least Tory stuck around for awhile to rim the gal and do ATOGM using Billy's cock to savor the taste of Victoria's anal region. Make no mistake about it, while I'm not overly attracted to Victoria, she was having fun and showing a lot of sexual athleticism before the resulting semen hit Victoria's gape for Tory to lick clean. The scene was much like the other scenes in most hardcore ways so fans will be pleased.

Scene Four: Victoria, a sweaty but lean blonde, was up next with Tory Lane, and Dillion Day outside by the fountain. The sex toy used was the clear type (either acrylic or glass) and I loved the oiled up look the gals sported as Tory ate her out on the edge of the fountain but was saddened to see Victoria slobbing Dillion's knob in a markedly more mundane setting on an indoor couch. Even worse was how Tory left the scene before the guy joined in, making it all the more generic as a result. Victoria was a straight forward ride here, giving an active though mechanical performance that really did little for me after the more exciting pounding sessions displayed previously and while the oral, vaginal, and anal sex was certainly strokable, there was little to differentiate it from any other such scene on the market today. Tory came back as expected to suck the slime off Victoria's ass crack but it was an old formula by this point and left me wanting something more.

Scene Five: Tory Lane, finally up in a full scene for her to shine, was up last by the expansive fountain as she took on Jordan Ashley outside. Jordan is best known for his mediocre work in Florida for internet companies like Bang Brothers but has been making the transition of late thanks to Bill Fischer and a few others willing to give him a chance to improve his game. Thankfully, Tory is a hot fuck and showed how active she could be here as she pushed back to meet his cock in her mouth, pussy and ass as they moved from the steps of the fountain to the concrete stairs nearby. The rest of the scene was very similar to the previous scenes except this time, Tory was the main event and not a side show, adding her aggressive sexuality even as they moved to the inside bed where she took the pussy pop shot and licked it up. I just hope future efforts will not stop using the scenario midstream and go right to gonzo with nothing else if the production budget runs out of money as this one appeared to do.

Summary: Assploitations 8 by director Tory Lane for Mayhem had a lot of rough edges in need of polishing up but I can't deny that even as screwy as the title could be, it provided some serious stroke value thanks to the ladies appearing to truly get off on the anal and other tricks they engaged in during the five scenes. The strokability, replay value, and levels of fuck for the buck may not be in the same league as most titles from Evil Angel or Jules Jordan but it was enough to warrant a rating of Recommended. In short, I hope Jim Powers helps Tory become a decent director and not another female figurehead as some have suggested her two directing jobs have been but as long as the details get worked out soon, Assploitations 8 could be the start of a newly revised level of competence at the studio I had figured dropped off the map with the poorly conceived Assploitations 5.
