Extra's: My favorite extra was the 9:26 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Shay Jordan and Jamal Johnson that playfully explored the cast having fun on the set as Robbie molested them. There were a few of the comedy bits tossed in here but the emphasis was clearly on showcasing the ladies in various states of undress, There was also a photogallery, a pop shot compilation from the scenes, a biography for Jesse Jane, as well as a slide show, and 21 trailers for movies such as Pirates 2, Pirates, Jack's Playground 32, Deeper 4, Teagan's Juice, Island Fever 4, Cockasian, Virtual Sex: Teagan Presley, Virtual Sex: Jesse Jane, Virtual Sex: Nikki Hunter, and Virtual Sex: Sophia Santi.

Audio/Video Quality: Naked Aces 2 was presented in 1.77:1 anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Robby D. for release by Digital Playground. The lighting was kind of strange here and that meant that the limited amounts of grain and other visual elements used to lend a sense of texture were minimal (for example, the first scene looked washed out and blurry; others were stripped of colors or purposely shot in such a way as to cause visual confusion). It took me awhile to notice it but there seemed to be a variation in styles as to how the scenes were shot and edited, some of the scenes using a lot more close ups while others relying heavily on slower and pulled back medium shots. I like a change of pace though much of it still struck me as a work in progress, usually not getting in the way of the heat and at other times de-hancing it somewhat. The composition of the shots and the editing enhanced the look of the ladies a little bit but not nearly as much as expected, proving what this critic has to say about the production team led by Robby (including Nick "Da Man" Pulgadas on editing, music and other aspects of production) with the DVD mastering revealing no compression artifacts (the visual bitrate hovering in the mid to upper 7 Mbps range or so most of the time). The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English (384 Kbps bitrate) with a minimalist leaning that seemed unique in most ways to productions outside of the Jack series, with the vocals always dominating the audio track as I like it.

Body of Review: Robby D. might not be a high profile director these days, preferring to let his work do his talking for him, but the last few years he has been at Digital Playground have certainly proven to be indicative of the company mindset to give fans what they want in the rapidly changing porn market. Originally a couples friendly company known for their almost softcore projects, they have embraced a diversity that allows their handful of directors to try new things as they get increasingly gonzo to cater to the rest of the porn consumers out there. The latest project of theirs I got a sneak peek at was Naked Aces 2, the sequel to Naked Aces 1 that came out recently. The movie is a parody of sorts that mixes high powered guns with high powered sexual depravity, threading the five scenes together with a story about a missing dildo. While I wasn't exactly enamored with the first installment of the series, this sequel showed Robby taking steps to improve the show using some solid performances and the company's leading contract gal, Jesse Jane, in a pivotal role. If that sounds good to you, here's a quick look at the scenes in the movie, noting that no condoms were used at all:

Scene One: Jesse Jane, perhaps the most popular contract star of the day (the blonde on the center of the front cover if you've been living under a rock), was up first as she teased in her silvery bikini while brandishing a couple of Mac-10's in the house. Summary: Naked Aces 2 by director Robby D. for release by Digital Playground showed that a porno can be fun as well as show heated sexual performances. It may not have been the most consistently rewarding experience I have had with the company and director of late but Jesse alone was worth checking it out and gals like Brianna Love, Rebeca Linares, and Renae "J Ho" Cruz elevated the rating to a firm Recommended for me. The strokability, replay value, and amount of fuck for the buck wasn't hurt by the extras either but the strength of the movie was clearly resting on three of the five scenes being the best of the batch. In short, Naked Aces 2, like Naked Aces 1 before it, only needed a few nods to beer and porn rinds to establish a whole new genre of porn; something I would probably refer to as "redneck porn" except for the talents of the cast. If a third volume is released later this year, I wonder what Robby will do to improve on his craft once again, hopefully focusing on getting the best pairings that money can buy.
