Extra's: For many of you, the completely unrelated bonus scenes from Swoosh, Heat of the Moment, Babylon, Perfect Couple, and This is the Girl will be the best extras. They were not the best such scenes ever offered on a Vivid DVD but did add some value for me so you might enjoy them too. There were also trailers to Debbie Does Dallas Again, Flawless, Family Gardener, and Layout, as well as a biography for hotty Savanna Samson, a photogallery, some spam, and a positions room too. For me though, the best extra was the 33:36 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Gary G. that started off with sexy Savanna welcoming the viewer but it was really second rate in terms of how it looked. Unlike many other features, this one spent a lot of time showcasing a non-sex performer that provided the focus of the movie with Bob Levy. I appreciated it as a change of pace and found the appearance all over the BTS of AVN's Mark Kernes (even getting a massage) to speak volumes for how well this did or should do in the trade publication. Still, there were comedic clips and interviews interspersed with the usual footage and it was fun to watch overall.

Audio/Video Quality: Stood Up was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment. For those unfamiliar with his background, suffice it to say that his experience outside of porn is superior to many inside the industry and it shows up in his movies, including this one as shot in HD, though presented in the SD format (for now) as shot in 1080i to provide a lot of resolution supporting some of the effects (making it look more like a real movie than just a porno). The lighting was reasonably well handled but some of the scenes appeared to be over saturated and dark with others grainier than normal; not completely uninteresting visually but still outside of the style I have been attributing to the director for so long now. The composition of the camera angles and lighting were not always optimal this time, Skow seeing fit to try and enhance the look of the ladies at every turn as possible. The fleshtones were not as accurate this time but the DVD mastering was well done (if in a bitrate hovering around 4 Mbps), making it a mixed bag in terms of visual quality. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in 192 Kbps) offering with the vocals sounding flat and the music pretty decent (imitating some of the well known jingles the comedians are associated with). For some reason, the levels were lower than usual but aside from the added background noise from doing so, the dynamic range was average and the separation of the vocal track nonexistent.

Body of Review: Fake biographies seem common these days as marginally known people try to rewrite their history using some foil as a means of elevating their popularity. The latest of these is comedian Bob Levy, also known as The Reverend, who the best I can determine is a guy that has is as well known for allegedly stealing the material of others as he is for his guest appearances on the popular Howard Stern Show. The movie is directed by B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment and called Stood Up; subtitled "The Unreal Life of 'The Reverend' Bob Levy". Thankfully for the world at large, Bob doesn't join in the sex given that hotties like Savanna Samson, Lanny Barby, and Penny Flame were on the center stage here but the comedic material was as much in evidence; proving that Bob has a sharp wit and acid tongue as he tries to convince a cute Moni to spend time with him. The back cover said it like this: "The sex comedy Stood Up is the almost true, slightly embellished, okay, fictional life story of real-life comedian "The Reverend" Bob Levy (known for his outrageous stand-up act and appearances on such shows as "Kidd Chris" and "Miserable Men"). One night in a comedy club, Bob tells his tales of woe to a beautiful fan (Moni Michaels) who can't believe her ears. It's a sad, albeit, funny story of his life, relationships and career. Things always seem poised to take off, but a series of misadventures -- many thanks to his evil agent Sammi (Savanna Samson) -- Bob is always one step from greatness and is constantly getting Stood Up." I've seen worse inspirations for a porno and the cast list was full of top notch talent led by a skilled director so I figured that even if the FFF (fast forward fodder) was plentiful, I only had to watch it once for this review. Here's the breakdown of the scenes by cast an action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Savanna Samson, the attractive blonde featured on the front cover, was up first in a flashback sequence from twenty years prior in her business attire. She came on to Tommy Gunn who was playing a young Bob just starting out, the pair finding that they could mix business and pleasure; not to mention bodily fluids in the greenroom in the back of the club. They pawed each other and her neon pink lingerie had the intended effect as she seduced him ever so slowly, getting on her knees to slob his knob as she came to appreciate his entire "package". It was initially handled in POV style with Savanna taking her sweet time, leading to Tommy giving her some oral attention as well as she reclined on the makeup table with her legs spread for easier access. She fingered her ass as he licked her clitoris, soon riding him actively as her juices covered his cock to the point where I wasn't sure if he was wearing a condom or not. The strength of the scene was how well she rode him though and while she took it down a notch during the bareback anal, she was still pumping away on him enthusiastically. She did some ATM on him before they went back to vaginal screwing and he coated her face with his load of population pudding as she pissed herself to a wet conclusion. In all, it was a solid start to the movie; proving again that Savanna is on top of her game. Whew!

Scene Two: Lanny Barby, the beautiful brunette gonzo gal contract gal at Vivid I've appreciated so much, was up next with another curvy brunette in the form of Kimberly Franklin, at a bachelor party in 1982 New jersey. The gals drove the men wild as their skimpy lingerie showed their respective assets nicely until Bob was sent packing by Lee Stone playing a character proving to be a cross between Fonzie and Andrew Dice Clay (the obvious dialogue being that "Andy" stole Bob's dirty nursery rhymes to become a popular comic. The gals serviced Lee as aggressively as he orally worked them over, Lanny proving to be the focal point of the scene though the gals shared him throughout the action. Lanny's oral skills were nothing short of amazing and her penetrative performance was sweet too. Kimberly was no slouch either and the resulting taste testing enhanced the passionate trio as they did each other with a sense of abandon I doubt many think Vivid is capable of showing (those many being ignorant as to the changes that have taken place). The gals shared the facial action and the camera faded out as they stroked each other. Yum!

Scene Three: Penny Flame, the sexy little pothead that so many of us love to see naked, was up next at a Jewish wedding where James Deen, in this case playing Jerry Seinfeld who was the next guy to steal Bob's ideas (cough!), was up next outside as she applied her unique skills to seduce him. They went inside to consummate their relationship with him rubbing her clit as they kissed on the pool table. She encouraged him to rub harder as she began grinding her hips into his hand, their respective respiration rates elevating before he snacked on her lovely crack (much to her delight at that). She slobbed his knob hard and he ended up porning that pussy of hers, getting it red and puffy as a result of their mutual attraction to the fucking friction. The down side of the scene was that she remained relatively passive during the penetrative sex; perhaps emulating someone out of Bob's past as they moved about the room. It ended when James rubbed out a slight load to her crotch, proving to be the weakest scene of the show for me despite a strong beginning.

Scene Four: Kimberly Kane, Savanna Samson, and the mighty Evan Stone, were up next as Bob toured the southern states to find the hillbilly heaven of Georgia in 1992 to be a pit hole where an anonymous clone playing Jeff Foxworthy was the latest wannabe comedian to steal his act. Some of the losers in the bar might have passed for redneck losers like another wannabe in the form of someone named "South", missing teeth and more than a few brain cells from what their limited dialogue could show. Aside from giving a whole new meaning to the term "family relations", the setting gave some satisfaction in Bob getting his comeuppance when Evan and Kimberly knocked the snot out of him. Savanna paid them back with a little sexual fun, the trio moving to the trailer where some comedic talk led to more serious fucking. The emphasis on blowjobs and pussy was clear here and he went back and forth between them as the greedy gals tried to dominate who would get the most cock from the big guy. The closed quarters of the location proved to be a bit tougher to shoot them in a variety of styles but the lighting and limited camera angles aside, they did a pretty solid job. It ended with some minor waterworks from Savanna and a shared facial that the women clamored for, the post coital sucking finishing it up nicely.

Scene Five: Moni Michaels, playing the lead and a groupie falling for Bob's lines, was up last in the comedy club booth as Savanna Samson blasted his chances by cock blocking for some lesbian action. Moni looked a lot like Brianna Banks and the pairing of the two going down on each other before whipping out the strap on dildo was pretty strong, albeit not the top scene of the show either. Savanna was the dominant partner of the pair and spent considerable time warming her new friend up orally before they went further; the passive relatively Moni not her best partner choice though showing some considerable potential as a lipstick lesbian.

Summary: Stood Up by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment might not have set the world on fire as his best effort to date but it was surprisingly strong compared to some of the celebri-porn releases of the last few years. Bob stayed clothed (thankfully) and the combination of Savanna, Lanny, and Kimberly made this one easy to rate as Recommended. The levels of replay value, strokability, and fuck for the buck as enhanced by the wealth of extras made Stood Up worthwhile for the porn loving crowd even if the non-sex role by Bob "The Reverend" Levy did not really merit more than a single viewing. The problem of feature comedy porn being dependant on the acting skills of the cast was present yet again, this time falling short due to Bob instead of the porners. Perhaps a better script would have changed this but ultimately, the sex was decent enough to merit repeated viewings so fans of the cast will have fun with the movie.
