Audio/Video Quality: Butt Row Swallowed was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Joey Silvera for distribution by Evil Angel. This being shot almost ten years ago for videotape, the picture was not as solid as his newer efforts (the bitrate hovering around 2 Mbps but going even lower; explaining some of the picture problems) and even some of the fleshtones looked off here. The composition of the shots was usually flattering to the women although much of that would still be an artistic call on my part so I can safely say that the overall visual aspects of the movie were moderately solid; concentrating on capturing the raw energy over giving the viewer Wal-Mart lighting (harsh, flat, and plentiful) most of the time. Still, with such a strong cast in evidence, I can't emphasize enough the value of their energy over the technical values which were adequate to display all that was needed for the heat to shine through. The 2.0 Dolby Digital audio (at 192 Kbps) was presented in the usual stereo English but there wasn't any significant dynamic range or separation between the channels. The voices were sometimes hollow but like seeing the occasional shadow in the movie, this is to be expected in order to preserve the nearly realistic manner in which the scenes took place.

Body of Review: Joey Silvera has had his movies distributed by Evil Angel for years now, proving that his loyalty made sense as each party raked in the dough. Rather than chase a BBD from other companies, he has relied on the trust developed and fact that for a great many people, Evil is as good as you will find in the industry in terms of sales, distribution, and quality control. Even now there are precious few contenders for the throne and Joey has provided some of the kink the company needs to give fans their fix when regular gonzo would not do it for them. Well, as part of a revisit to the past, some of his older titles are now coming out on DVD, including Butt Row Swallowed, a movie shot almost ten years ago labeled "with The Girls of Hooker University" as a subheading. The scenes all provided a slightly different gonzo experience, with Joey even jumping in to get some at times, but the fun factor was in evidence and I could see several scenarios that he fleshed out into full fledged series later on. That said, here is a brief glimpse into the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Silvia Saint, the hotty blond featured on the middle of the front cover, was up first and she was definitely in her prime for this scene with Mark Davis and Hakan. The tease was solid and the humor angle covered nicely as some mope swept the floor of the garage while whining. The use of a dissolve cut to transition between the locations was odd (she would appear in different parts of the house rather than walk there) but given her frisky nature, it was still nice to see this golden oldie of a scene (and movie) finally make it to DVD after all these years. The trio ended up on the couch and she let them warm her up before slobbing their respective knobs so well. She then actively rode them in various positions and locations, taking breaks for oral as needed. This was back when her language skills were presumably limited so she did not elevate the heat with dirty talk but it was otherwise a fine scene showing her sexual skills getting a workout, that eventually included anal too. That part (including the DP) was a lot slower on her part but she never winced or showed much discomfort; typically giving the impression that she was having a blast before they rubbed out loads of population pudding on her chest. Scene Two: Shawna Valentino, a Latina in her first scene, was up next and while she had a shyness not seen by Silvia, she was a different type of gal from what it looked like in the dark night setting displayed. She has long been too tiny for me and in the last several years has struck me as a bit past her prime but this was shot when she was fresh and new; initially wearing a white top and skirt as she took on Michael J. Cox, Mark M., and Joey Silvera. A booze freak, she appreciated the Jack Daniels and Vodka as much as the sex toys she was packing, the gal teasing by the pool as she got warmed up. When she put on a strap on dildo, I was of the impression she was going to do Mark M. but it was discarded early on for the guys to eat her out and get head from the gal. Scene Six: Alice, the brunette on the lower left hand corner of the front cover, was up last in a scene with Nick East, Derek Lane, and Paul Cox ordering her up as the waitress in a satiny red thong. She might not have been the newest gal of the batch or even the hottest fuck of the movie but she was a nice mixture of all the dynamic elements needed to make for a solid scene. She teased with a smooth manner to her, sucking them off in the house undergoing remodeling to earn her pay. She also gave a polished ride to each of them that showed enthusiasm and energy, making it a great choice for an ending scene (much like Silvia was the perfect opener). Most of the anal sex took place out back by the pool on the sunny day and she was not as passionate about getting her backdoor poked but they glazed her face at the end of the scene showing how skillfully she milked them all dry.

Summary: Butt Row Swallowed by director Joey Silvera for distribution by Evil Angel showed that even porn from years ago can still have all the necessary elements to make for stroking fun. I've revisited a lot of titles from ten and twenty years ago and found them wanting but can still rate Butt Row Swallowed as Recommended as standing the test of time. The women were not cookie cutter dolls and the sex did not follow a specific pattern, lending an air of unpredictability that would probably serve modern porn well in these days of generic action. In all then, the replay value of this one was surprisingly solid and while it did not stray too far from a particular path, there was no doubt that certain bits influenced later series and projects, making it worth checking out for that alone.
