Extra's: The best extra for some of you will be the inclusion of a second copy of the movie; one being in anamorphic widescreen and the other in full frame. I'm a big fan of true HD and if I can't see one of the new formats used, anamorphic widescreen is the nest best thing as far as I'm concerned but not everyone cares for it (and might not until they get a new television set). There was also a popshot compilation and a book-like fold out holder for the DVD case but no Behind the Scenes as advertised.

Audio/Video Quality: The Many Shades of Mayhem 3 was unique in that it was presented with two discs, one version in 1.33:1 full frame and the other in the anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director Jax for Tight Fit Productions. For the purposes of this review, I watched the widescreen version but if you still haven't upgraded your television set in the last five years, you might appreciate having a ready made disc to take advantage of a new set when you get around to it. The bitrate usually hovered around the mid 5 MBPS this time, with some compression artifacts in evidence from time to time. The lighting was very uneven in some of the scenes and this caused some issues with grain but it was generally decent to look at considering all factors as a whole. The composition of the scenes was fairly decent, the traveling camera and editing trying hard to keep the gals looking their best; though not always succeeding by a long shot. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English with a bitrate of 192 Kbps, though the vocals were set too low for most of the movie. There was no noticeable separation between the tracks and the dynamic range was limited but at least there wasn't a lot of droning music going on.

Body of Review: Jax has been a director that I've only seen a few titles from (and those were recent) with his work at Tight Fit Productions so the jury is still out on the quality of his work as far as I'm concerned. His last two movies were decent and showed some potential but it was unevenly applied and displayed a number of beginner mistakes that came close to causing me to find them margin, much like the latest title of his coming my way in the form of The Many Shades of Mayhem 3. The movie is a series of scenes that have interracial overtones, whites with blacks, Latinas with blacks, and Asians with whites all trying to have a decent sexual time with minimal set ups getting in the way. The results were largely inconsistent and the technical matters did not help much, the cast full of ladies I've found almost a given in terms of their raw passion previously. That said, here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were worn:

Scene One: Naomi, a gal that disappeared from porn after making quite a splash as a bubble butt performer of great merit, was up first on bed with Billy Glide. He got her a gift and like most women, it translated into her getting frisky as she gyrated her hips in front of him lap dance style. She then dropped to her knees to blow him, showing little grace as they disrobed in the process of the head being given, the initial camera work lacking as the shadows and edits did not look too good. The technical considerations aside, she worked him over mechanically and soon bent over for him to vaginally drill, the scene caught back when she had an ample amount of body fat to pass as a hotty (initially showing the same problems as he ate her out too). She was only an active rider when on top of him and there was no chemistry between the couple but fans may enjoy the scene as a throwback to her earlier career where she didn't look like she was in need of a sandwich (or twenty). The action ended when he dribbled out a small load of population pudding onto her ass cheek and she tasted it.

Scene Two: Sydnee Capri, a curvy black gal in a sexy black dress, was up next on the couch with Talon, as she slowly seduced him in the dark room. The verbal banter between them was lame but she was intent on expanding his sexual horizons in the scenario so his clothing came off and she began to display her sexual prowess after caressing him. The hummer didn't last long but showed some energy and he reciprocated well enough as she got all sweaty with his dick plunging into her asshole as the primary target in no time. Scene Five: Trina Michaels, the blond on the front cover with large implants, and sexy brunette Eva Angelina, also seen on the cover in the middle of the three ladies, were up next as they arrived to the flat with shopping bags full of clothing to show off to an appreciative John E. Depth. The ladies played show and tell while he put on his game face like he cared (it was funny seeing them improvise); the playful verbal banter a step up from most of the other scenes. That led to the ladies continuing where they left off as they did some lesbian antics in front of him; each of the four implants practically busting out of the skimpy attire they wore as the ladies sucked titty to his delight. There was finally some chemistry to speak of here and the ladies put it to good use sucking and feeling their crotches, the moment weaving a spell that was broken only after John jumped in to get some. They did not seem to mind his antics, especially thanks to their love of large black cock, but they weren't overwhelmed with passion either. The worst part of the scene was how passive the gals were with a close second being that they did little with each other while he porked away (masturbating but acting like assisting was somehow wrong). There was some taste testing and Trina did manage to impale herself once on top at the very end of the scene but I've seen these ladies smoke up the small screen so while it was definitely a treat, I expected more. Summary: The Many Shades of Mayhem 3 by director Jax for Tight Fit Productions was a case where the technical matters were compounded by pairings that showed no chemistry to make the title worth a Rent It at best. I had hoped his straightforward manner would suffice but the lighting guy seemed to take the day off and the cast was at odds too often (often looking away while screwing or otherwise seeming to be watching the clock) with a few glimmers of heat displayed all too infrequently. In short, the lack of advertised extras was not the biggest issue going wrong with The Many Shades of Mayhem 3 and I hope this was just a fluke compared to Jax's work on the Full Service series but even a fan of several of the cast such as myself found it hardly worth the effort so your mileage may vary considerably.
