Extra's: The best extra this time was the 21:22 minute long Behind the Scenes feature that had both Jimmy and Tina Tyler working the cameras. There was more sex and some of the playful banter found on better sets going on; Jimmy hard at work making the cast and crew look their best in the limited clips offered up. Shy's comments about squirting as urination should be required viewing for all fans of the genre too (as a long time director and performer, she is in the best place to comment on it aside from the medical community that denies it's existence also). The other extras were minimal this time with a photogallery, a fetish menu, trailers to shows like Climaxxx TV, Black Reign, Lex Steele XXX, Silverback Attack, Ironhead, Manhammer, Top Guns, Superwhores, and Nasty Universe, and a second side to the DVD cover full of other covers.

Audio/Video Quality: Top Guns 7 was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director Jimmy Scaffnetti for Mercenary Pictures. Jimmy has been working in the industry for some time now and displayed a lot of talent with the camera, whether or not he is credited for it being beside the point. The bitrate was all over the place this time with the lower 5 Mbps being the most common for some scenes and upper 3 Mbps frequent elsewhere but I saw few compression artifacts and the wealth of lighting certainly helped Jimmy make the grain stay away. His composition of the scenes was also well handled, leading to decent editing that made the movie among one of his better efforts from the time this was shot; albeit with some of the shaky camerawork left in to keep the raw energy present from the looks of it. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English with a bitrate of 192 Kbps (as usual) but there was no obvious separation between the tracks and the dynamic range was about what I expected. I could hear the vocals and the music was never a huge issue but it wasn't anything substantially different than what Jimmy shoots for Erik Everhard either.

Body of Review: Jimmy Scaffnetti is probably best known as a skilled cameraman for hire that works for Mercenary Pictures and Erik Everhard Entertainment more than anywhere else. Having cut his teeth on gonzo works over the years, his level of skill is a step or three up from many of the established directors that think artistic endeavors are appreciated more than proper lighting and a steady hand (those people being wrong of course). The latest release of his to make it my way is Top Guns 7, the last volume in the series I looked at being the collector version of Top Guns 1, so long ago. The premise for the series is simple; the best men available in porn are paired with sexually skilled ladies, the results showing why these men earn top dollar for their work over the third and fourth tier mopes that continually whine about their status. Just as there are female stars that command the most attention, there are men in porn best known for their size, sexual abilities, and drive that make scenes better, this time pairing with some of the best talent in porn. That said, here is a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that each scene had a different feel to it for variety but no condoms were used:

Scene One: Hillary Scott, the blond featured on the middle of the front DVD cover, was up first with Lexington Steele and Jean Claude Batiste. Lex gave a short interview with Jimmy and Jean was quiet as they discussed Hillary's status as the female performer of the year before she joined them on the couch. Summary: Top Guns 7 by director Jimmy Scaffnetti for Mercenary Pictures might not have had the advertised "3 hours" listed on the front cover (unless you count the extras section) but the wealth of ladies and studly men elevated the heat of the movie to merit a rating of Highly Recommended. The chemistry, passion, technical values, and levels of fuck for the buck present were such that I enjoyed Top Guns 7 more than I appreciated Top Guns 1 when the collector version came out with all but one scene really working to provide superior strokability and replay value; the other scene still serving as decent too. In short, this might not have been the best title of Jimmy's career but it showed a lot of his touches that worked to make it his with a cast providing a lot of smoking hot value.
