Extras: My favorite extra was the 14:56 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Jason Silver. It was a combination of interviews, preparing for the scenes, and photoshoot material. There was then a 12:36 minute long set of tease sessions called Preety Girls (obviously misspelled) with the ladies naked and masturbating outside for the camera. Audio/Video Quality: Tory Lane’s Bitches was presented in 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Tory Lane for Mayhem (with Jim Powers on camera). It was not among the best looking movies she has shot but still fairly well handled on the technical level with the lighting eliminating most grain, video noise, and other minor issues. I saw no compression artifacts (though the bitrate for the video was often well below 3 Mbps) and the flesh tones were accurate, making most of the scenes look relatively good by comparison to previous works of this type by Jim. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (at a bitrate of 192 Kbps) and sounded similar to his other recent works; never straying too far from the formula he feels comfortable with. The vocals were hollow at times, rarely sounding properly captured for the movie.

Body of Review: Tory Lane has been an extreme queen in porn for awhile now so it makes sense that she joined up with Mayhem to direct and star in some porn where she had a modicum of control over. If there is one word to define the gal it would have to be “attitude” though, Tory providing a lot of it as she continues her climb up the ladder of success. Summary: Tory Lane’s Bitches by director Tory Lane for Mayhem had a lot to like and I really had a tough time deciding what to rate it given the generally solid technical values, the cast of cuties, and the amount of action going on but as I reflected on what I expected from it going into the show; I felt it fell short so I gave it a Rent It. Tory was billed all over the cover and production but she rarely did more than orally participate and unlike former contract star/director Aurora Snow, Tory did not have a scene all her own to truly shine. The extras were on the weak side too and the replay value of the somewhat generic scenes was in doubt so while fans of the rest of the cast may press their thumbs (or other body parts) on the scale to achieve a different outcome, I felt that Tory Lane’s Bitches simply did not live up to the potential it promised. It still had stroke value, just not as much as if Tory was the focal point more often.
