Audio/Video Quality: Frat House Fuckfest 7 was presented in the nicely improved 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Jonalungus for distribution by Shane’s World on the Freaky Deaky Entertainment label. The bitrate was often in the mid 5 to 6 Mbps range, but the picture tended to look washed out, even as the fleshtones appeared to be reasonably accurate. Perhaps the enhanced resolution of an anamorphic picture would have helped this time but some of the camera angles were not overly favorable to the cast this time too. The editing was fair, if rushed in places, and while it definitely looked like a low end effort, the potential for future improvement was evident thanks to Jon's ability to capture the energy inherent in the heat of most scenes. The settings were tougher to catch than his previous works that used a static couch for the sex so the learning curve aspect of this new dynamic is to be expected but in the end, it was the casting choices that elevated this one higher rather than the technical matters. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital English using an interesting 128 Kbps bitrate (though the cheapo menu used an LPCM and appeared almost like it was made for the internet). The vocals were typically hollow and lacking in dynamic range with the music as generic as the titles from Hush Hush used to be when I reviewed them awhile back.

Body of Review: College Invasion is the series most people associate with porn and drunken fraternity types thanks to years of great marketing by the nice folks at Shane’s World. This has led, of course, to numerous copycats trying to hone in on the popularity of the series; a few of the newcomers showing some promise of at least giving us our money’s worth (though not coming close to the original). Well, the latest director to try his hand at such a show is Jonalungus; the man best known for his interracial titles at various related companies, with Frat House Fuckfest 7: Trick or Treat Edition. The premise behind the movie was a guy shooting a Halloween party full of drunken college types, some of the younger performers in porn being the mainstays of the cast. Unlike College Invasion, this movie does not have the fun antics where civilians try to get laid by porn stars (at least that isn’t the focus of the movie) but it has some admittedly appealing footage all the same as long as you aren’t particularly critical of the background noise and lack of editing expertise such as you will find at the seasoned company. Instead, the idea was to try and infuse some raw energy into the show so I was willing to scope it out and bring you this review. That said, there were no condoms used in the scenes and it was a decent time:

Scene One: Sativa Rose, the brunette babe kneeling on the lower left hand corner of the cover, was up first as she kicked back on the couch with moper Justice Young. It ended with the facial and the roar of the crowd, the fourth and final scene reminding me that the third scene was far too long by comparison; the pacing on the weak side.

Summary: Frat House Fuckfest 7 by director Jonalungus for distribution by Shane’s World had enough sucking and fucking to merit a rating of Recommended but only just making it in my book. The technical aspects were among the weakest I’ve seen outside of a real home movie in years and the performers all seemed distracted by the crowds and/or amount of alcohol or other substances consumed to give it their best. Still, in a few ways, it seemed like an homage to the better editing and more consistent heat of the College Invasion it appeared to emulate so it might work for you will you wait for the next volume of that series (which are all too infrequent). In short, Frat House Fuckfest 7 was like a poor man’s version of college porn but still enjoyable thanks to the casting so check it out.
