Extras: I liked the short, 10:02 minute long Behind the Scenes feature the most, especially as it picked on the BTS guy; Jamal Johnson but mainly due to the additional footage of the ladies. Shay helped a bit and it was edited by “Drax” but aside from having numerous parodies worth expending upon, it was a cute extra that added value. Audio/Video Quality: Jesse Jane: Scream was presented in the usual 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Celeste for Digital Playground. The high end equipment and skilled crew of regulars assisted director of photography Robby to make this release another of his more artistic attempts for Celeste, never going too far in the process as he stuck firmly to his gonzo roots as best he could under her guidelines. The lighting was reasonably solid here, Robby handling the technical matters for gal-pal Celeste, and that meant that the limited amounts of grain and other visual elements used to lend a sense of texture were minimal. The way the scenes were shot and edited was markedly similar in the scenes, though the composition of the angles was changed up a bit depending on the scene in question (and the colors were richer than I think I’ve ever seen in one of her movies). The composition of the shots and the editing enhanced the look of the ladies more than a little bit with Kurt Tortcher taking on the job of editing; with the DVD mastering revealing no compression artifacts. The bitrate for the visuals hovered around the mid 6 Mbps this time with few flaws but not as high in resolution as previous efforts in the series. The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English using a 384 Kbps bitrate; twice that of most porn made these days, with a minimalist leaning that seemed unique in most ways to productions outside of the Jack series, with the vocals always dominating the audio track as I like it. There wasn't much separation between the channels, if any outside of the intermittent music, but the ladies were almost always clearly heard here.

Body of Review: Celeste has been making movies at Digital Playground now for awhile and over time, her style has evolved to become more like the kind of popular gonzo that her director of photography likes. To me, this is a good thing since it allows her enough creative input that she can come up with higher level ideas while he does the grunt work, the end result often pretty good stuff. Their latest collaboration is Jesse Jane: Scream, the latest in the horror series started by Shay Jordan: Scream and Sophia Santi: Scream. The idea behind the series is to give some chills along with the usual sexual hijinks; invoking imagery of ghosts, killers, and things that go bump in the night. This time, lead contract hotty Jesse Jane is the focal point of the action, only partially sharing the spotlight with exotic cutie Shay Jordan in a single scene. If this sounds good to you, here is a look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used in this release coming up next week:

My screener copy was defective here so it locked up as they were beginning to get really friendly, forcing me to have to start it over and move ahead of the scene mechanically; zipping backwards to avoid the sore spot on the disc. The scene was otherwise okay, though Jesse’s implants looked a bit strained for her body size here, the camera zooming far too close as the veins were in plain view. The ending was funny (think: Deliverance) and I’d like to see more of the humor played on in the future.

Scene Five: Micah Moore, a sexy little brunette having problems with a cursed ball, was up next as she followed instructions until trickster Marco Banderas/Duato used the same kind of dynamic Jerry had done before; converting fear into sexual release as he pawed the cutie to her delight. If you like skinny gals with big DSLs, you’ll like her as she complied with his wishes to give the lug a treat. It was a good closing scene overall though and fans of both gals will appreciate it.

Summary: Jesse Jane: Scream by director Celeste for Digital Playground did not really do a whole lot with the haunted house premise of some of the themes presented; relying too heavily on the same dynamic of a boyfriend scaring the gals into sex but the sex was generally pretty well done and the replay value pretty high thanks to the cast of ladies present so I rated it as Recommended. The technical aspects were increasingly like those Robby uses on his flicks (big surprise, huh?) and the extras were still on the light side but fans of Jesse and Shay will definitely want to see their roles in the movie. In short, Jesse Jane: Scream will serve fans of spooky thrills as much as previous volumes in the series, maybe better if you like Jesse as much as so many of her devoted fans do.
