Audio/Video Quality: Tease Before The Please was presented in a very appealing 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Sid Knox for Diabolic Digital (technically, the cover credited Gregg Alan while the beginning and ending credits gave Sid the nod; to me, it looked like one of Sid’s previous works though so it’s probably just the alternate name for the guy a friend of mine claims owns the company). The lighting was almost always decent after the opening scene; optimal on the bodies as it limited the grain, video noise, and shadows other productions seem unable to get rid of far too often; but the crotches were not as consistently well lit as they should have been. The composition of the shots weren't always completely flattering to the ladies but at least there was rarely any doubt about what was going on and where it was going; given the quality of the cast, this made it more enjoyable too. The fleshtones were generally accurate and the bitrate hovered in the mid 4 Mbps area so it did not look bad at all. There were no compression artifacts and the visuals were generally handled pretty well here. The audio was presented in a 1.0 Dolby Digital English using the standard 192 Kbps bitrate. The music was generic but the vocals; while plain as could be, could be heard in almost all cases; only slightly hollow at times when the ladies were making it clear their limits were being pushed.

Body of Review: Sid Knox is the pseudonym name for one of the current directors at Diabolic Digital that has been trying out some new styles at the company of late (to mixed reviews). Still, having watched a few of his works, I think he shows some potential when the right partners are selected for the scenes he captures, his general approach seemingly allowing the performers to do what they want to do rather than provide them with a micromanaged list of what has to be done. The results may have varied to date but given the cast list of his latest movie, Tease Before The Please, I think he might be cultivating something that could grow into a nicely played bit of work. The movie itself employed at least some tease footage in each scene as an opener, then the usual hardcore antics one would expect from any movie by the longstanding gonzo production powerhouse. With six scenes to select from, I figured the name draw alone of gals such as Brianna Love, Sandra Romain, Nikki Benz, and August would have been enough to merit exploration so I picked up a copy for review. Summary: Tease Before The Please by director Sid Knox for Diabolic Digital was better than his last few releases as far as I was concerned because there was a basic theme he could address, the tease, and he addressed it fairly well. There are companies out there (particularly Jules Jordan Video) where the tease footage is the big seller for me so seeing someone consciously trying to provide more of it is a step in the right direction. The ladies cast for the movie were all solid selections, the technical values pretty good (though the editing needed polishing up), and the amount of fuck for the buck combined to merit a rating of Recommended or better, but I can admit to having a “hard” spot for some of these gals that goes back awhile. In short, Tease Before The Please proved to me that Sid was capable of doing more than just churning out generi-porn like many of his peers, perhaps a second volume will offer even more of the basics to appreciate.
