Extras: The best extra was the inclusion of the bonus disc from the RLD vaults. In my case, the disc was One On One #6 but they all vary so don’t buy this DVD in hopes of a particular disc. Let’s just say that a full free disc of decent porn is a great extra in my opinion! The next best extra was the 36:11 minute long Behind the Scenes feature shot mostly by Mark with his lovely hotty of a wife Francesca Le assisting (Mark even stealing my line about Brianna looking good in a burlap bag). Unlike many of the past BTS extras, this time it consisted largely of a series of interviews in the house as well as some photoshoot material; hardly any nudity and no sex to speak of. Still, for fans of the female cast, this was a solid extra worth checking out when you’re cooling down. There was also a cumshot recap, a photogallery, and one of those cool DVD cases that are covered in a fold out cardboard case with a flap.

Audio/Video Quality: Smothered n’ Covered 4 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Mark Wood for Red Light District. The lighting was generally good and that helped keep the grain, video noise, and other flaws to a minimum. The fleshtones were accurate and the camera work was generally good with the composition of the shots enhancing the ladies' looks most of the time. There were no compression artifacts (even with a relatively low bitrate of ~mid 4 Mbps) or significant shadows to contend with so I found the picture appealing (as will most people that like solid, flat, lighting as RLD is generally known for providing) and acknowledge the duo of crewmembers working the camera, Francesca Le and Mark, for doing a fine job. The audio was nothing special although encoded in 2.0 Dolby Digital English with a 192 Kbps bitrate. The processing done in post production aside, the vocals were seemingly recorded in monaural and the music not a big factor so it wasn't a problem but it wasn't anything worth extra points either. In all, I wasn't surprised by the quality of the technical attributes of the movie but I wasn't expecting Mark or Francesca to fuck it up given the quality of their recent productions.

Body of Review: Mark Wood is one of the few guys that could truly be considered an “every man” director these days, most of his work released by Red Light District. His movies have evolved over the years that I’ve been reviewing, typically getting away from the strictly fetish titles he started with into offerings that were more fun for a general audience; the results making them more consistent for guys like me not into most narrow niche stuff. Mark’s latest release to make it my way was Smothered n’ Covered 4, the sequel to the highly popular Smothered n’ Covered 3; a series where gals with wonderfully full booties would spend a significant amount of time face sitting and teasing before engaging in various forms of sexual misconduct with their male partners. There were no circus act sex acts to speak of, none of the rough stuff some people hate, and of course no condoms; the fetish aspect helping elevate the movie beyond the vanilla sex that many gonzo titles seem to follow. If you’re still interested, here’s a quick glimpse into the scenes by cast and action, noting that the five scenes were largely quality offerings:

Scene One: Claire Dames, a curvy babe with ample curves and a wonderfully fleshy ass, was up first to tease a little and shake her money maker as everyone’s favorite camera operator (Francesca) noted how she was “born for porn” while giving Mark Wood a taste of her ass. This led to a very enthusiastic blowjob, the comment being that she was a “hungry little slut”, and Mark nearly lost it as he fucked her pretty little face. I haven’t found all of her performances to be great in the last year but so many of them display her youthful zeal and zest for life that they really add something when she gets into her special place that turns her on. Summary: Smothered n’ Covered 4 by director Mark Wood for Red Light District started off on a high note and carried it through the entire time with five really solid performances that embodied the spirit of the series in such a way that Mark is to be commended. Rather than simply throwing together a generic cast and seeing what happens with the ladies that happened to be available on a particular day, there was convincing evidence that they were all carefully selected for their physical and mental attributes, earning a rating of Highly Recommended from me. The strokability, replay value, and amount of fuck for the buck was already quite high when I also added in some points for the free movie and lengthy BTS too; making this a top pick in my book. In short, Smothered n’ Covered 4, like Smothered n’ Covered 3, was a very heated fuck flick that fans of women with womanly curves could appreciate as the gals let loose without relying on circus act sex tricks to make a really fun movie. Great job!
