Audio/Video Quality: Double Vision was presented in a newly shot 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Erik Everhard for distribution by Jules Jordan Video. The lighting was largely even and plentiful so there was not a lot of grain or other visual issues to complain about outside of the general washed out look of the picture. The camera angles always favored the women, making them look as good as possible, though usually at the expense of Erik. The camera was steady and the editing kept poor footage at a minimum, making it one of the better looking POV releases by Erik (not the best since the scenes looked kind of washed out). Jimmy Scaffnetti assisted on set as needed and my biggest issue from previous releases (the softer focus) was largely taken care of in a favorable manner; adding to the heat of the sex for me. I could fuss about minor matters (though the mid level 4 Mbps bitrate never appeared to be a serious issue, there were a few compression artifacts) but in general; it was a solid looking show. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital enhanced English at 192 Kbps, with minimal separation between the channels but all the vocals meant to be heard were clearly discernable. There wasn’t a lot of thumping music as others use and the sounds of the sexual activity were picked up nicely by the built in microphone on the camera. In short, the technical matters were decent all around, better than a number of Erik’s other gonzo titles from his stint at RLD but not quite up to his recent efforts.

Body of Review: Erik Everhard has long struck me as one of the most sexually driven men in contemporary porn, losing himself in the throws of passion so readily when getting off that it tends to inspire many women to up their game as it were. As a director, he also has the tendency of hiring some of the best ladies in porn as much for their looks as their performing skills, a definite asset now that he is in the spotlight as distributed by Jules Jordan Video. Rather than release 4 or 5 titles a month that are all about two hours long and full of filler scenes, Erik has become known as a guy focusing on making double disc sets lasting for hours (often twice as long or longer than average) that also have great sex in them, drawing a backlash from weaker “directors” (I can think of one in Atlanta in particular) that forget that in the current market, addressing consumer needs is important. Let’s face it, would you pay a couple dollars more for Erik’s titles or be pennywise and get the crud proliferating on store shelves that are watered down in most ways, including running time? Erik’s most recent title to make it my way was Double Vision: Special Edition; a double disc set lasting over four hours full of point of view (POV) sex. I’m familiar with his Anal Prostitutes On Video series that is POV so what made this one different became the focal point of my search while waiting for this one to arrive the other day. Essentially, each scene involves Erik enjoying the services of two ladies in the POV fashion he has learned to present under the tutelage of fellow director Mike John; the leading man in the format these days. Erik not only shows a steady hand in this regard but the women were typically quite skilled and attractive, with a couple of surprises in store for me as I looked at the cover. If this sounds appealing to you, here is a brief look at the scenes with pictures, noting that no condoms were worn:

Renna wore a conservative outfit and had a great smile, this being her first time on set per the scenario that had Lindsey sexually frisky from the very beginning in her white outfit. I prefer the ladies to have more curves and look more feminine but this has long been the case (and as much as I like identical twins, they have never worked for my libido). Scene Four: Shyla Stylez, the curvy hotty wearing strategically ripped jeans on the lower right hand corner of the cover, and nearly as sweet looking Starla Sterling, were then up in a scene with Erik Everhard as the first scene of the second disc to celebrate his birthday. Erik was more than happy with Shyla alone so the addition of a second cutie worked very nicely for him. The chocolate cake she presented him would have looked better smeared over her for a certain reviewer to enjoy but she brought forth a second surprise all wrapped up in saran wrap in the form of Starla. Needless to say, the unwrapping was a treat as part of the tease with the whipped cream appetizer leading them to the upstairs bedroom for lesbian antics. The gals wanted the real deal though so they began orally handling Erik’s cock; sharing him as best they could before carrying the idea forward to the vaginal screwing. The POV aspect of the scene was especially hot with the gals helping each other as well as actively riding him to the best of their abilities given the positions that work best work point of view action. Erik Everhard played along and liked the two ladies a whole lot as the still session progressed, the stud’s prowess tested as he took over. There was some aliasing on the patterns of the outfits the ladies wore but they were in the mood to play sexually so after some brief lesbian tricks, they were tearing off his pants to get at his dick for sucking. It started off with some gingerly applied stroking and licks but worked into a full fledged hardcore inhalation bit as the women succumbed to their need for seed with him. The seductive looks and increasing tempo of the scene might not have been the very best the movie had to offer but it was a lot better than the twins and on par with scene number two. Their limited vocabulary and modest attempts at active screwing were strokable but as hot as the gals looked, they never convinced me they were doing anything more than fucking for dollars. Scene Six: Rachel Starr and Rachel Roxxx, the two lean brunettes seen on the lower left hand corner of the front cover, were up last with Erik Everhard who paid to play courtesy of pimp daddy Jimmy in another non-sex supporting role. It was a very heated scene and a good choice to close out on.

Summary: Double Vision by director Erik Everhard for distribution by Jules Jordan Video was long, strong, and down to get the friction on but a few scenes were not as good as the others so I rated it as Recommended. If you like the Love Twins at all, you will want to elevate the rating a full notch but this was a fun POV flick well worth checking out thanks to most of the other ladies working so well with the man himself. The extras added value and while the visuals were not as solid as recent titles by the guy, Double Vision: Special Edition showed that Erik still has a lot of skill with the camera when otherwise occupied, doing far better than most of his peers in the process.
