Audio/Video Quality: My Sister’s Hot Friend #10 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as originally shot by director Brett Brando for release by Naughty America. The lighting was decent this time, limiting the amount of grain and other visual noise the movie provided compared to some earlier releases by the company. There were very few compression artifacts and the visual aspects of the movie were pretty good here but the MPEG-2 encoding showed a very low bitrate (typically in the lower 3 Mbps range) and the picture reflected that a lot. The composition of the angles and shots favored the ladies reasonably well and that elevated the quality of the visual presentation more than a little bit from what I've seen in the past. The audio was presented in MPEG-2 2.0 English with a bitrate of 224 Mbps according to my receiver but I heard no separation between the channels and if the vocals were recorded in anything but monaural, I'd be very surprised. There was no music on hand to interfere with the vocals though so there was that benefit but the microphone seemed to be too far away as the vocals were hollow and echoed throughout the set.

Body of Review: Brett Brando is the director Naughty America responsible for their many titles; a number of which are actually quite well shot when you get right down to it. The lack of extras and incomplete credits (they never credit their male performers) might always lower the scores of the titles that they offer but the impression I get is that the DVD market is only a bonus for them with the internet being their major money maker these days. That said, there are times when their vignette driven releases have some of my favorite performers so I pick up a copy, such being the case with My Sister’s Hot Friend #10; the main draws for me this time being the curvy Brianna Love and sultry Roxy DeVille. I honestly did not expect a whole lot going into the movie but knowing the premise was a bunch of scenes where the ladies hook up with the guys under the flimsiest of reasons (the modern equivalent of the pizza delivery guy or pool cleaner), the nod this time being for the sister’s best friend, I figured it was worth taking another shot to see whether this was another standout title of theirs or not. Here’s a quick look at the scenes by the ladies and the action, someone at the company under the false premise that no one cares enough about the men to list them anywhere on the box; but at least there were no condoms:

Scene One: Rachel Starr, a brunette with an “alt” appeal to her, was up first as she portrayed a motorcycle maniac to the rescue of a guy named Johnny, in this 23:10 minute scene. She worked on his car and got turned on as she teased him in a seductive manner, leading to her coaxing her payment from him the old fashioned way; tearing apart her t-shirt to reveal her large implants. He didn’t need any further prodding from her to paw her titties in the garage where they were situated; her jeans tossed to the floor and neon pink thong pulled to the side to grant him access to her sweet ass that he loved sucking. That led to an enthusiastic blowjob by the gal on her knees and a bit of a thematic jump with some artistic humping with weird lighting before the director went back to his generic style of capturing the action on the back of her sporty motorcycle. I was pleasantly surprised by the passion she showed here and this was a solid opening scene to appreciate.

Scene Two: Brianna Love, a personal favorite this year as she has fleshed out and really displayed some of her best work ever, was up next in a scene with Johnny that lasted 30:20 minutes. She dressed up for sex and after a string of failed booty calls (including the director, Eric Masterson, and Christian all blowing her off), she lucked out to have him come over to “move some furniture”. This was the code for fucking the shit out of the hotty; leaving her black dress off to the side after she slobbed his knob with a cock lust few could match. His oral attentions were limited and his inability to sustain an erection made me wince considering the babe he was working with, her fleshy ass as appealing as ever as she drove herself on top of him like a wanton vixen in need of seed. The bedroom antics were basic though and just because he did his best to sabotage the scene did not eliminate the heat of the moment, her best position being the active doggy fuck she engaged in before he rubbed out a modest load.

Scene Three: Roxy DeVille, the hotty on the right side of the front cover, and Jaclyn Case, her partner in crime seen on the left side of the cover, were up next in bed after a hard night of partying. The lack of anal was not the issue either but wasted talent is a shame in any endeavor, especially porn.

Scene Five: Brooke Belle, a curvy blond with implants, was up last wearing a pink dress as she tried to seduce her best friend’s brother on the couch. He was happy that she took such an interest in him on the couch after a slow start, leading to the two pawing each other before she inhaled his cock. They had little real chemistry either, Brooke looking at the camera before being waved off, and to his credit, he gave as well as he received when going down on her. She was also fairly active during the vaginal ride but the generic nature of the action showed such little spark between them that it could not overcome the “been there, done that” nature of the sex. She tried hard enough with some dirty talk but the lack of real tease footage, the “sex by the numbers” approach, and the lack of spontaneity simply reminded me that even a couple with potential can be hard pressed to elevate the heat of a scene when the corners are so aggressively cut as they were here.

Summary: My Sister’s Hot Friend #10 by director Brett Brando for Naughty America had a few scenes that displayed his skills prominently but the rest of the action was so generic and lacking in anything special that I felt obligated to rate the DVD as a Rent It to any but the most slavish fan boys of the ladies (ie: the completists). There was some stroke value and the technical matters were never so bad as to diminish all of the fun but assembly line porn really needs something special to overcome the nature of the beats; My Sister’s Hot Friend #10 rarely able to do this from what I could see. Perhaps adding some better extras, mastering the DVD better (instead of just a series of unrelated scenes), and actively striving to find people that want to work together would have helped raise the value here but give it a look all the same and you’ll see what I mean almost immediately.
