Extra's: The best extra was a 3:26 minute tease clip in the kitchen that was billed as a bonus scene. She was cute but labeling this as a bonus scene is like calling a single sentence a “review”; thankfully my diligence paying off as the show continued with a second clip of solo action lasting 3:34 minutes, and then the “real” bonus scene from Busty Loads lasting 30:36 minutes long between Lichelle Marie and Justice Young starting in the minivan. I hated her implants but the gal was a lot of fun when it came down to getting down so keep an eye out for the movie it came from; the couple even screwing on a freeway overpass before running away as helicopters buzzed by them! This was a prime example of spontaneous sex at its best and I liked it a lot. There were also trailers, a photogallery, an advertisement for shower spy cam (a website), and a true double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Good Morning Woody was presented in the nicely improved 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Jonalungus (whose past work has struck me as a slightly rushed version of Brother Love) for Voodoo House. The bitrate was often in the mid 4 to 5 Mbps range, but the picture tended to look washed out, even as the fleshtones appeared to be reasonably accurate. Perhaps the enhanced resolution of an anamorphic picture would have helped this time but some of the camera angles were not overly favorable to the cast this time too. The editing was fair, if rushed in places, and while it definitely looked like a low end effort, the potential for future improvement was evident thanks to Jon's ability to capture the energy inherent in the heat of most scenes. The settings were tougher to catch than his previous works that used a static couch for the sex so the learning curve aspect of this new dynamic is to be expected but in the end, it was the casting choices that elevated this one higher rather than the technical matters. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital English using an interesting 128 Kbps bitrate (though the cheapo menu again used an LPCM bitrate of 1536 Kbps and appeared almost like it was made for the internet). The vocals were typically hollow and lacking in dynamic range with the music as generic as the titles from Hush Hush used to be when I reviewed them awhile back. In defense of the production, getting the sound to come out right is one of the toughest things about modern porn, especially as home theatres improve so quickly but if you watch this on a cheapo TV set, the sound wasn't too bad.

Body of Review: Jonalungus is rapidly becoming one of my favorite directors for Voodoo House these days due to the humorous manner in which he not only captures fun sex but also shows the cast having a great time in the process. It’s difficult trying to explain this on a qualitative level and his works are not consistent enough for me to heavily promote him as a top flight director just yet but his potential alone has been proven time and again so I try to keep an eye on what he’s doing these days to see if he continues getting better; knowing I have a very decent shot at this happening given his past. His latest release making it my way is a cute comedy series of gonzo vignettes called Good Morning Woody where a series of five scenes showing attractive ladies taking advantage of their male partner’s physiological response to waking up is the focal point. As any guy can tell you, waking up with a stiffy and a partner wanting a piece of it is among the best things in life, nearly enough for me to seek out a regular bed buddy instead of playing it fast and loose (man-whore that I am). If this sounds interesting to you, here’s a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were worn:

Scene One: Holly West, a sexy little brunette with great curves and a pleasant sex drive, was up first in bed as she woke to the lame alarm clock next to sleepy head Danny Wylde in bed. Summary: Good Morning Woody by director Jonalungus for Voodoo House advertised as being “over 3 hours long!” but that was only if you include the trailers, bonus scene from another release, and all the other extras so I was put off a bit by it but the quality of the scenes was certainly enough to merit a rating of Recommended all the same. The technical matters were a little on the rough side but the extras added some spice to the DVD and the director’s aforementioned skills surely enhanced the pairings for me; the comedy aspects elevating the movie from the generic ranks of all the movies coming out in recent months. In short, Good Morning Woody proved that Voodoo House is one of those companies to keep an eye on as much as their director, the levels of fuck for the buck, strokability, and replay value climbing as the company becomes more established. Nice job!
