Note: The following is a review for the HD DVD version of Mrs. Behavin', a major interracial title for Digital Playground that was released in standard definition DVD years ago to heaps of praise, garnering various award nominations and showing the world that the company listened to the consumers wanting more fleshy backsides at play. The content of the movie was the same and the extras modified to include HD DVD trailers that show off the higher resolution of the titles that are either out or about to come out in the popular new format but also dropping the popular bonus scene from the original release. The quick version of the review is that the show looks substantially better (until it stopped playing the visuals) but it always looked pretty good so it's value as a double dip will depend on your wallet. Extra's: The best extra for me in the original release was the bonus lesbian scene between Janine and Sophia Santi in an outdoor pool. While labeled as being here, my copy did not have the bonus scene; the feature lit up for that led to the 9.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Max Massimo, especially the funny comments added in after the fact, instead. There was a lot of extra sex taking place and it was well worth watching for me. There were a couple of biographies, a photogallery, a slide show and trailers to shows like Pirates II, Island Fever 4 HD, Deeper 1 HD, Babysitters HD, Pirates HD, Jack’s Playground 27 HD, Contract Star HD, Jesse Jane: Sexual Freak HD, Jack's Teen America 3 HD, Island Fever 3 HD, Hush HD, Jack's POV HD, and Cockasian HD.

Audio/Video Quality: Mrs. Behavin' HD was presented as shot by director Celeste for Digital Playground using a full 1080p resolution and the AVC/MPEG-4 codec to provide a substantially improved picture from the SD version that came out long ago. Digital had the foresight to shoot using the latest technology and their back catalog is only now being released in HD-DVD (more on Blu-Ray starting next month) so expect a lot of improvements as the company becomes more handy with the new formats. This is one of those times when the HD treatment enhanced the picture enough to merit a double dip by true fans of Celeste's works though the slow motion bugged me a lot.  There was also a problem with the video stopping at the 82:54 minute mark to contend with as the music played on (a mastering error?). Still, the slightly rough look of the project added some charm to the feature and while Robby has certainly become more competent in shooting HD flavored porn for his gal pal Celeste, the composition of the shots always seemed too artistic and geared to fans of erotica for me. The grain of the original and compression artifacts were minimized and the resolution was great enough that what once looked like solid colored walls could now be seen to have some texture to them (and holes). The BTS by Max looked poor by comparison but in the feature, the fleshtones were almost hauntingly offbeat, preserving the original "feel" of the visuals. The audio was presented with the upgraded 5.1 Dolby Digital + and the improvements were far slighter here with little separation between the speakers; the lack of a vocal track annoying to me given my appreciation for Janine.

Body of Review: Now that Janine's porn career has been jumpstarted back into the realm of drawing in lots of fans, particularly with the recent blockbuster Pirates, it seems like she's the talk of the town. Her latest release for Digital Playground, Mrs. Behavin' HD, is advertised as having her first "interracial and no condom scene", putting it in direct competition with Janine's Been Blackmaled, a title that was shot a year earlier but held back by the folks at Vivid. Each had Janine playing with two black men although the claim to fame here is that she used no condom in the scene made here (she did with Erik though). If you're a fan of Janine's like I am, you'll almost be embarrassed by this wealth of riches starring the attractive porn veteran performer that have come out of late with both companies trying to vie for the so-called "Janine dollar" of her fans seeking to see her performing with men more and more. I guess ten+ years of lesbian only sex has built up quite a demand to see her, even though she's not barely 18 years old as so many prefer these days. Here's a quick look at the scenes on the DVD, noting that the artistic license employed by director Celeste (AKA: Bunny Luv) lowered the appeal for me at times:

Scene One: Janine, dressed in the leopard print dress she wore on the front DVD cover, had a scene in the kitchen with Mandingo and Dexter Dizzle; set to music that reminded me a lot of Barry White. I would've preferred to hear the actual vocals and see the scene offered up in regular speed instead of slow motion but it admittedly looked significantly better (in terms of eye appeal if nothing else) to the recently released Janine's Been Blackmaled, where Janine also took on two black men although with condoms in that release. The guys double teamed her in the mouth and pussy (not with a DPP though) and she seemed to get off to the action more than a little bit. They thoroughly coated her face at the end with their large loads if that appeals to you.

Scene Two: Jelena Jensen, a cutie that has graced a few of the Jack's Playground releases in recent times, was up next in a solo masturbation scene where she rubbed herself with some dirty undies in a scene that appeared to look as though it came from the 1950's. It was too limited for my tastes but it helped build up my appetite for seeing her in a real scene all that much more.

Scene Three: Sara Stone, a cutie I don't think I've ever seen before, was up next with another fresh face, Nick Jacobs, when the two got into a tussle on the couch during a study session. Her bountiful bosoms attracted him as much as they worked for me and he began sucking them in earnest before the two worked each other over orally. I really missed the audio clues here too as the music track replaced the vocals yet again but the couple showed some potential here as she rode him actively and willingly like a gal possessed. It ended when he rubbed out a load to her tongue and face. She has some nice potential that I'd like to see worked up more in a regular movie.

Scene Four: Janine, wearing a nice dress and washing windows, seemed all too enthusiastic to give a show as she enjoyed herself outside. While Scott Nails spotted her first, it was Erik Everhard that got to work with her as she played the seductress to his clueless football player character. They kissed, groped, and stroked one another before she made her move on his rigid member trapped in his shorts. She responded by unleashing the twins from her dress and dropping them down so Erik could suck her nipples. They screwed with him wearing a rubber and he got some titty fuck action before she gave him some hand to gland action and jerked him off to completion.

Scene Five: Sophia Santi, another major hotty I'm not overly familiar with, was up next as she cleaned the staircase in her black dress and tight white panties. I predict she's going to break a lot of hearts in porn, and probably inspire a lot of launched loads across the globe, though a solo masturbation scene was something of a gyp in my eyes since I want to see a lot more of her in action that that.

Scene Six: Brooke Haven, a curvy cutie was an attractive face and a tiny red dress, was up next as she played a hooker to a bald Scott Nails on a couch. Her tease added some mileage to the scene and her moves enhanced my desire to see the scene through, even with the aforementioned missing vocal track a factor for me. A female friend of mine thought this scene was only a little less appealing than the scene with Erik (scene 4); her favorite of the movie, although I was less impressed. The oral was good and the boning managed to ready me for a quick liaison of my own but sadly, that didn't happen and the scene seemed too contrived to me. It had oral and vaginal sex with the couple breaking a sweat that could be seen far sooner than the limited amount of anal that took place at the end. It ended with the rubbed out load that she spit out.

Scene Seven: Janine, back in her school matron dress and heavy makeup, had a drink on the sofa as she felt herself up into a state of readiness for partner Scott Nails. The masturbation action was fine by me, especially after she went prowling for man meat in the bedroom, and as he jerked himself off with a sock, she played with him a little bit. This led to a full fledged scene where she taught him all he needed to know about the birds and the bees as she striped off the dress to get some happy time in with him. I liked the scene and thought she did a good job of conveying her character as well as making for a strokable outing but even as they went at it, the pop shot to the crotch reminded me of how much better it could've been if shown in real time and not slow motion.

Summary: Mrs. Behavin' HD compared favorably to Janine's Been Blackmaled in a few ways but also fell short in others. On its own, I thought it was worth a rating of Rent It but primarily to a different audience than the Vivid release (with the exception of Janine fans of course). Janine reminds us that hotties come in all shapes, colors, and ages, and I'll compare the two movies in an upcoming  Blue Room column in order to more properly address the highlights of each compared to one another but keep in mind that the more Janine on the market, the better off fans are. If you want superior technical values and an artistic approach to the attractive starlet, this will be well worth your time and money. Check it out and you'll see what I mean. In terms of the upgrade, it served Janine well to be seen in HD though the lack of vocals did cause some fretting by this reviewer back when the title came out as well as the other day when I saw this version so your mileage may vary even if the video feed stopping during the last scene was just a fluke.
