2007, 2:40 plus extras

The warhorse gonzo subgenre of Guy Wandering Around Looking for "Real" Girls is reversed in "Ashlynn's Reality Check," in which cute blonde Ashlynn Brooke searches for guys to fuck -- and it's no less fake than when John (Buttman) Stagliano or the MILF Hunter wrangles supposedly unsuspecting women. But that doesn't mean the sex isn't hot. This well-shot video feature is centered on the nicely arranged Ashlynn (who's in every scene), but it could have used more than just two other women to go with the five guys in the cast.

Scene 1.  Ashlynn is being driven around L.A. and tells the unseen interlocutor in the front seat that she'd like to pull up to "the hottest guy I see ... I'm gonna try to convince him to come to the house and have my fuckin' way with him." After flashing her big, beautiful breasts to some real real pedestrians as she drives by, she stops a jogger. "He looks like the fucking Terminator," laughs the front-seat guy. And in fact it's none other than square-jawed, thick-dicked porn veteran Billy Glide. He consents to get in the car -- surprise! -- but the supposedly horny Ashlynn spends the ride basically looking out the window while front-seat guy chats up Billy. Ashlynn blows Billy a little in the backseat before they really get down to it in her living room.

Scene 2.  Ashlynn and identically dressed (?) gal pal Franchezca Valentina (who's also familiar from porn and softer Playboy TV stuff) check into a hotel room with the cameraman/conversationalist. The girls have a splendid ladylove scene -- nice mutual asshole licking -- until a room service guy (Jordan Ash) interrupts. He doesn't put up much of a fight when the ladies want to get all hetero on him.

Scene 3.  Back in her backseat, Ashlynn decides she wants to explore this "lifestyle" she has heard about -- swinging, that is. So the car lets her off in a park and lo and behold, there's a cute young couple sitting on the grass just waiting to be approached. Lovers Ashley Jensen, a lanky blonde, and emo rock type James Deen take little coaxing to repair to Ashlynn's place. A very hot threeway ensues, with Ashley seeming to be genuinely into it.

Scene 4.  In the car again, Ashlynn decides she's in the mood for a businessman in a suit, "cuz they're so like uptight." (Hello, Ashlynn, who do you think spreads all those porn links and dirty jokes on the Internet, sanitation workers?) First guy in a tie she passes (Alan Stafford) hops right in and consents to on-camera fellation. At the house, he gets out of that suit and reveals a ripped bod you don't get from 9-to-5-ing it in Pasadena.

Scene 5.  Ashlynn is at her laptop chatting with some fool and decides a face-to-face (or crotch-to-crotch) is in order. In a few moments the Eminem wanna-be (John Espizedo) shows up at her door. "What's with the camera?" the dolt asks in what is at least an attempt to pass off this whole enterprise as unfake. The undeniable Ashlynn soon has his powder-blue sweatpants down.

                                                     THE DVD

A good amount of effort went into this easily navigable disc. The main menu lets you choose from Play Movie, Scene Index (full-motion frames from all five scenes) and DVD Extras. Each of the five segments has lots of chapter markers -- 17 for one scene alone.

Go to Extras and click on Pick Your Pleasure to get a selection of Blow Jobs, Missionary, Cowgirl, Doggie and Cumshots; press your chapter skip button to shift to the next instance of the specified act.

Other extras include trailers for "Naughty College Schoolgirls #44" and "Big Natural Breasts #10"; a bonus scene, from "NCS 44," featuring blonde sweetie Kara Bare in a plaid skirt; a photo gallery that automatically changes shots; and a hardcore house ad for the New Sensations web site.

The crisp video picture is presented in widescreen and the decent sound is in stereo.

                                               THE LAST WORD

Ashlynn Brooke could stand to be a little more effervescent and animated, but she is easy on the eyes and uninhibited. The sex throughout the program is straightforward (no anal) but enthusiastically embarked upon. Straight male viewers will probably wish the girls outnumbered the guys, but the three females on view are fine indeed. Decent extras and the variety of ways to make your way through the long program are big plusses.
