Extra's: The best extra here was the 16:13 minutes of additional sex footage from the scenes. There did not appear to be a lot of technical flaws going on here (at least flaws substantially different from those in the main flick) but the ones observed were enough to cut the material in most cases or to help with the pacing. Audio/Video Quality: The Voyeur 34 was presented in the improved 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director John Leslie for distribution by Evil Angel. I appreciated the additional quality this provided me on my widescreen television set, making it more likely that friends of mine would be interested in seeing it too (with rare exceptions, similarly equipped friends of mine go out of their way to avoid what they call “fool frame” productions in favor of titles that look better on their new sets). As noted previously, John has long since surpassed the desire to show crystal clear visuals, preferring to focus his efforts on the kind of raw energy and rougher edged look that most of his peers only seem to fall into by mistake, though I'll be the first to admit I'd like his movies to revert back to a more traditional & well lit approach if at all possible. The levels of grain, video noise, and even pattern effects were okay this time and the action lost nothing due to the flaws on the technical side (the movie was still hot but the bitrate typically hovered in under 3 Mbps and it showed) but the overly saturated colors really did not help the ladies look their best IMHO. The composition of the camera angles showed some care put into them, making the ladies virtually always look their best, and this is the strength of John's directorial ability more than anything else (as a producer, he also tends to make fine selections of cast). The 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio track (in 192 Kbps) was as basic as gonzo porn came be, with limited talking going on outside of John's own directions in the background. The cast could be heard moaning & groaning but this was definitely a limited selection based on audio quality.

Body of Review: John Leslie was the first outside director distributed by Evil Angel; the result of creative differences from his lengthy stay at VCA. John had been such a well respected member of the porn community that his complete switch to the production side of things was inevitable and having watched how he grew back during the transition, it seemed to make sense that he would walk his own path by making artistically appealing titles rather than chase someone else’s idea of stroke material. His latest release making it my way was The Voyeur 34, the thematic sequel to The Voyeur 33 where John is a peeper that likes to watch others having sex. The camera angles employed to make this dynamic believable generally include a moderate amount of footage where John is behind some bushes, a door, or other device yet he still recognizes that seeing all the action clearly typically requires his camera to be far closer and obtrusive. Still, the resulting footage is edited nicely into the kind of porn that few others are making these days, adding replay value for those that value the kind of vision John provides. If that sounds interesting to you, here’s a quick look into the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used at all:

Scene One: Eva Angelina, the brunette hotty featured on the front cover, was up first as she teased Marco Banderas out by the pool in her skimpy yellow outfit. The technical matters were not John’s best except for the increased resolution provided by the anamorphic process but the quality of casting and action alike made this one worth a rating of Recommended for fans of gonzo fuck flicks. In short, The Voyeur 34 was much like The Voyeur 33 even if the settings and scenarios were individually different; John appearing to want to break free from any formulaic approach he has developed in the past volumes so give it a look.
