Extra's: The best extra was the 14:36 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Jamal Johnson and Drax (Shay picking up the camera at least once); the usual nods to comedy, the ladies, and preparations for the movie. I'm always left wanting more by these efforts but they are fun to watch all the same. There were a lot of little clips showing what I presume was Joey Pulgadas' humor; slightly off beat but well worth watching multiple times too. This was supplemented by a series of biographies for the contract gals, a photogallery, a slide show, and trailers to movies like Pirates II, Island Fever 4, Jana Cova: Sexual Freak, Shay Jordan: All American Girl, Jack's Teen America 17, Icon, Image, and Pirates.

Audio/Video Quality: Cheerleaders was presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Robby D. for release by Digital Playground next month. The lighting was reasonably solid here, as expected given this was Robby's standard type of gonzo, and that meant that the limited amounts of grain and other visual elements used to lend a sense of texture were minimal. This will probably be the biggest flick of the year attributed to the director since Pirates 2 will be Joone's baby all the way, so it was evident that he spent extra time getting it just right, even employing directors Andre Madness and Ralph Parfait to work the cameras. The way the scenes were shot and edited was slightly different in the scenes, the composition of the angles changed up a bit depending on the scene in question; the infamous Joey "Edit Stud" Pulgadas handling the editing and other post production duties this time. The DVD mastering revealing no obvious compression artifacts (the bitrate varying but often staying near the lower 5 Mbps range) but this was a good example of how solid a set of vignettes can look even with a lower bitrate. The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround (using 384 Kbps) with a minimalist leaning that seemed unique in most ways to productions outside of the Jack series, with the vocals always dominating the audio track as I like it and the cast easily heard this time. There wasn't much separation between the channels but the ladies were not overwhelmed by the light soundtrack and this added to the appeal of most scenes.

Body of Review: Babysitters was one of the biggest movies of 2007 for Robby D. and Digital Playground; the release still garnering scores of awards from all the usual outlets (it was one of our top yearly picks, followed by AVN, Empire, XRCO, and other smaller groups). I remarked that it could have been better but it remains a placeholder until Pirates 2 comes out later this year, even suggesting the company shoot a sequel about other genre favorites; the result being next month's release of Cheerleaders. This time, the focal point is on those ladies that jump, scream, and look good in tights with all the company's contract stars at the time it was shot having a series of barely related vignettes. Starting off in a locker room, a group of frisky gals start playfully teasing each other about their sexual exploits, eventually leading to a nine girl lesbian orgy that some of out bloggers have remarked about (Adrianna Lynn, Stoya, and Shay Jordan). Without going into too much detail, this movie had some great scenes even if none of the performers looked as though they could be in high school except maybe Stoya. The chemistry was uniformly solid or better and you get a lot of fuck for your buck this time as the movie clocks in at over two and a half hours. If this appeals to you, here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Jesse Jane, the lead contract gal featured on the middle of the top line up seen on the cover, was first in a scene with studly Manuel Ferrara. Scene Three: Adrianna Lynn, the new contract gal seen on the upper half of the cover to the immediate left of Jesse, was up next when freshman flunky Shawna Lenee came to the door with breakfast, Johnny Sins slumbering in bed. It was interesting to see Brianna return the oral loving to Stoya from an earlier encounter of theirs I documented but even though that helped spice things up, the most heated action came from the way the ladies played with Manuel. The look on their faces (especially Stoya) and the enthusiasm shown throughout the scene increased the energy and passion to such a level that it was my favorite of the movie in many ways; both ladies doing anal where they slowed down a lot but showed the desire to keep doing it. Scene Six: Sophia Santi, Priya Rai, Lexxi Tyler, Stoya, Jesse Jane, Brianna Love, Shay Jordan, Adrianna Lynn, and Memphis Monroe, were up last in the locker room in a big lesbian orgy much like the kind Jim Holliday used to provide in his movies (when he sadly passed away so young, the entire cheerleader sub-genre seemed to die away with him, though in fairness to all involved, this was unlike Jim's mostly sedate cheerleader sequences). The free for all had numerous pairings and the ladies diddled, ate, and otherwise took full advantage of the opportunities presented here; the camera largely, but not exclusively, focusing on the contract performers somewhat more often. There had been some earlier preludes to this event, the ass licking contest, stabs at "truth or dare" lesbian antics, and the like but this was the full blown vegetarian orgy talked about online in recent months; the almost random nature of the edits and partnering up appearing to make more sense on subsequent viewings. Jesse was probably the most active but Stoya and the other ladies also showed they were having fun, the scene proving Stoya's lesbian credentials better than her tiny second scene in Jack's POV 9 with Brianna Love ever could. Unlike some people, I like lesbian sex (I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body after all) and this was one of the best such scenes in recent memory, THE best if you aren't into circus act sex, so it was a great way to end the movie. Sweet!

Summary: Cheerleaders by director Robby D. for release by Digital Playground next month is almost certain to become another award winning championship effort given the levels of heat displayed, the strokability, replay value, and overall fuck for the buck so I rated it as Highly Recommended. The contract performers were all nicely complimented by the rest of the cast and I envision the improved visual elements of the upcoming blu-ray will make it even better for fans equipped with the winner of the next generation video format. There was truly something for everyone this time and I suspect that the third in the series will be something like Stewardess', Porn Stars, or Groupies but those of you looking for a pseudo-feature will appreciate this one a whole lot. In short, Cheerleaders raised the bar once again as other companies continued to cut back on their own productions, the movie serving as an early frontrunner for all the same award shows Babysitters took by storm. Good job!
