Extras: The best extra for some will be the 4:09 minute long bonus scene from Bad Girls. It was a blow bang in an elevator and way too short without her tease footage from the movie, serving almost better as an extended trailer for the movie than as a bonus scene but Jessica looked great so your mileage may vary. My personal favorite was the 20:42 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Jax as it gave a better look at what they cast & crew were trying to do. There was some nudity and clips of action from the sex scenes; the cast having a lot of fun on the set (such as Francois describing some of what was going on from the point of view as the director, Jessica as the writer and performer). There were seven photogalleries, three star stats, a 4:46 minute long Box Cover Shoot, a promo reel, the usual DVD Rom material, and 11 trailers to (mostly) older movies. There was also a true double sided DVD cover and a cardboard slipcase for the case.

Audio/Video Quality: Dating 101 was presented in an appealing 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Francois Clousot for Wicked Pictures. While filmed in high definition, it was down converted to regular SD (standard definition DVD) so there was some minor grain in some of the scenes where lighting was minimized as part of the scene (night scenes tend to do that as do scenes shot in shady areas like Wicked seems intent on doing these days). The artistic measures taken to make the movie's vignettes look interesting did manage to weaken the overall effect for me but they were not nearly as pronounced as some of the more arty-farty vignette driven releases of the past. The video noise was minimal and the composition of the scenes was extremely well taken care of, enhancing the look of the ladies in nearly all cases but there was aliasing for those of you wanting better video to showcase your home theatres. There were no obvious compression artifacts and the bitrate was typically in the mid to upper 6 Mbps range. The audio was presented with two choices, the primary one being a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English track that balanced the vocals and music nicely. There was a 2.0 Dolby Digital track in Spanish available as advertised on the DVD case but given the generic quality of the dub, it was no big plus for me. Otherwise, the audio seemed to be another step in the right direction for Wicked Pictures, even though the vocals were almost certainly recorded in monaural or dubbed in later (not to mention limited in scope).

Body of Review: Francois Clousot is currently one of the most prolific directors at Wicked Pictures, generally working on almost everyone else's titles while fitting in the occasional lead role himself. His steady hand and agreeable personality fit in with the admittedly quirky bunch there, his charm winning over the divas as effectively as his skills keep him in the good graces of the men. His latest title is another star focused feature, this time a comedy starring lovely Jessica Drake, called Dating 101. Having seen a lot of her in releases of late, I get the ominous feeling that her shelf life is coming to a close, a prediction I can assure other fans that I hope is completely off base. This time, she plays a lady that has had one too many bad dates and out of frustration, she sets out to save others from such a fate by using her know how as a dating consultant. I've seen a half dozen mainstream movies based on this theme myself in recent times but Jessica has the acting chops to pull it off handily and the comedic bits worked well with the couples oriented sexual activity, making this one fit right in with the company's marketing niche. The back cover said it like this: "After another dreadful date, Laurie (Jessica Drake) decides to put her bad experiences to good use and help others. She starts a dating consulting biz to help men and women find romance. She finds success in helping others, but can she help herself..." Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Jessica Drake, the babe on the front cover and writer of the movie, was up first in bed with Barrett Blade. The tempo of the scene was markedly slower than most of the previous ones, perhaps better suited to a spot earlier on in the movie, but Jessica made it work. The teasing nature of the pair at work was appealing and the replay value was higher as a result, the camera again spending too much time on close ups for my tastes (a little of it goes a very long way). Jessica did some PTM between positions and continued her recent adoration of fingering her ass as she rode his cock, her purring vocals keeping the action heated even when some of the edits were in need of polishing up.
