Extras: The only decent extra was the 12:10 minute long Behind the Scenes feature. Most of it was just the ladies in make up getting ready for their scenes but it still had some amusing bits worth checking out if you're a fan of the cast. There was a photogallery, some trailers, and website information; the cover being truly double sided and possessing a slip case as well.

Audio/Video Quality: Registered Nurse was presented in an anamorphic widescreen color with an aspect ratio of 1.78:1 as shot by director Zak Wylde for Smash Pictures; offered in the standard MPEG-2 codec that standard definition titles come in (though it was advertising "shot in HD" on the cover). The various vignettes all had their own quirks to them but for the most part, the levels of grain were consistent (on the high side) and the flesh tomes were accurate. I believe the director has limited exposure to shooting in high definition and it shows but he maintains the potential to overcome this limitation with experience, the composition of most camera angles presented pretty well, perhaps thanks in small part to the editing that helped enhance it somewhat. There were few compression artifacts or moments with aliasing, the video bitrate tending to stay in the mid 5 Mbps range when I paid any attention to it (but it was all over the place, going higher as often as not). The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English using the industry standard 192 Kbps bitrate, never really sounding like any effort went into the aural portion of the show but hardly finding itself unique in that sense given the lack of attention this area gets from even the biggest companies.

Body of Review: Zak Wylde has been a production assistant turned director for some time now, having worked at Elegant Angel, Smash Pictures, and more recently for Combat Zone in this day & age of cutbacks. I've strived to find exactly what he offers that most of his peers do not provide and every time I see him developing into his own, he either switches companies or falls off the map so I picked up an older screener called Registered Nurse based as much on seeing his progress before he moved on as for the cast of ladies in stripper nurse outfits plying their trade. Smash was decent enough to include pictures of the ladies on the cover (always appreciated) so even a generic director faced with the ability to shoot footage of these women should have been able to get some good stuff. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Trinity Post, the redhead in the sole black outfit on the front cover, was up first as she prepared to tend to the needs of sickly Chris Charming; at least once her tease montage was over. She was all over him and feeling frisky, rubbing her body against his as she jerked him off. They orally satisfied one another and she proved to be an aggressive sexual partner, using dirty talk whenever her mouth wasn't full of cock. Scene Five: Marie Luv, the light skinned black gal seen on the front cover (second from the right), was up last with aging lothario Mark Davis to help him with his examination in the medical office. Summary: Registered Nurse by director Zak Wylde for Smash Pictures might not have shown a whole lot of directing excellence but the cast showed a lot of active screwing and the kind of enthusiasm that is always appreciated in a fuck flick. The semi-fetish nature of the movie focused on a nurse theme, reminding me of many Jim Holliday movies from the good old days, and the technical values assisted in earning the movie a rating of Recommended. In short, Registered Nurse will be a good choice for you if you like the ladies in the cast or enjoy the idea of the nurse theme but it was a cute above many similar releases so I'm glad I got a chance to check it out.
