Extras: The 39:29 minute Behind the Scenes feature was a lot of fun, starting with Eva Angelina and moving through most of the cast. There were numerous clips from the scenes and interviews with the ladies, adding some entertainment value to the DVD well worth checking out. Jonni's BTS offerings are often among the best at the company (Evil Angel) for overall appeal as more than deleted footage thrown away but not passing up on it either. There was a photogallery, six trailers of his other titles, some limited filmographies, and a helpful cast list of the performers, most of whom I knew but it's always cool to confirm the names easily.

Audio/Video Quality: Girls Love Girls 3 was presented in a standard full frame 1.33:1 ratio color as shot by director Jonni Darkko for Evil Angel. The bitrate hovered on the middle end of the scale much of the time, typically in the mid 4 Mbps range though jumping around a fair bit too; going higher as often as not. The lighting was often flat and solid, reducing the amount of grain, video noise, and other flaws directly related to the technical aspect. The fleshtones were perfect with the crisp look of clarity I like when Jonni is spot on with his work. The composition was almost always favorable to the ladies and the editing seemed to enhance the look of the show more than a little bit, thanks to the extensive efforts of Eddie Powell who also made the cool DVD menus stand out with his skilful touch (my only complaint being the inability to skip to a specific point in the movie with the way it was mastered). In general, this was another very visually appealing piece of work though thanks to the efforts of the production staff as well as the cast. The audio was provided in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English track (at a 192 Kbps) was thumping but truncated at the right moment after the tease to allow the vocals to get the spotlight during the scenes. As a side note, the menu page was mastered using a LPCM audio track that was quite good.

Body of Review: Jonni Darkko is the most aural oriented director at Evil Angel these days, surpassing John Leslie in terms of providing music suited for the porn experience. That doesn't mean I always like it, but I cannot ignore the way he scores his flicks to the tempo of the performers (he just needs to tone down the drum track a few notches). I know that he is popular with my fellow critics too, several of which attempt to get his movies as they come in to Xcritic Central but I was the winner of his latest release in Girls Love Girls 3, the sequel to Girls Love Girls 2. The movie is a set of five scenes showing attractive ladies paired up with one another having lesbian sex in a gonzo manner, typically using a "no holes barred" approach. Many long time readers know I prefer ladies that really enjoy working with other ladies in this type of movie so it was especially appealing that Jonni used his superior casting skills to obtain some of the very best such pairings around. This is what the Evil Angel website had to say about the release: "Jonni Darkko's lesbian love poem enters its third stanza with the release of Girls Love Girls 3. In an all-star interracial scene, nasty little Lexi Love eats Marie Luv's sweet brown pussy and asshole, then applies lube, a big black dildo and a big vibrating pussy massager; their meeting involves lots of anal play, and dominant Lexi even wraps Marie's head with vinyl tape! Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used or population pudding dropped for those still interested:

Scene One: Lexi Love, the sexy white gal on the front cover, was up first with tall black gal Marie Luv, in the first scene. Both of these ladies tend to offer enthusiasm and a love of sex in their many roles, both also known as anal queens for fans. Lexi seemed to be the original aggressor here, employing her outgoing manner I found so well received at the 2008 AEE several months back. She caressed and tongued Marie in a heated manner, the tall recipient of the fun reciprocating in an equally hearty manner with plenty of analingus to elevate the temperature of the room. Some toys were used and even the failed attempt at employing duct tape was kind of kinky (in a good way) with the use of anal toys showing their sexual abilities off nicely. In short, it was a solid scene to start things off, even if Marie's vocals went over the top at times, their chemistry making it a fine scene for replay value and strokability. Yum!

Scene Two: Eva Angelina, one of the most popular performers in recent times, was up next with newcomer Ryan "Maria Menendez" Keely, on the couch. Everyone kept calling Ryan "Maria" during the BTS and apparently, that is her common name but it was her physically attractive nature that anyone will care about more than what to call her ("a rose by any other name..."). Eva was the initial aggressor here and she was definitely on the prowl as she felt her friend up and went down on her, using tape as a restraining device until it became too cumbersome for the capturing of their "moment". Eva wore a red fetish outfit that left little unexposed and Ryan had on so little that describing it seems a travesty; both gals well worth memorizing for your personal "spank banks" in terms of looks. There were various toys used (a pussy vacuum, dildos, nipple clamps and the like) but it was the mouths and fingers of the ladies that got the best play here. As the scene progressed, Eva gave up some control to submit to Ryan, a strap on dildo being her reward as Ryan stretched out Eva's perfect pussy. This was an even more enthusiastic and energetic ride, the gals occasionally slowing down or losing their rhythm but likely as a result of the need for stills or camera angle changes that weren't as obvious due to the superior editing. Hot!

Scene Three: Lana Croft and Lana Violet, both dressed up in naughty lingerie, were up next making out on the balcony of a large house, the perfect weather punctuating their tryst before the gals ended up inside the living room on the couch. Like with the other scenes, they were frisky and in the mood to mingle, the only real downside to the action being how over the top they acted; weakening the sex for me as less about them getting off and more about them wanting to project that dynamic. Neither of the ladies is really my type either so while they were generally well selected to work with each other (their common first name a quirk worth noting) and did all the same general level of tricks in their scene (oral, fingering, PTM, toys, anal), it struck me as more forced and the weak link of the entire show.

Scene Four: Sativa Rose and Lela Star, two of the most sought after brunettes once upon a time in porn, were up next as they continued the lesbian spree by getting oral on each other without any significant tease footage (a drawback for the entire movie by the way). Sativa was the more active partner of the two but Lela was not acting like a contract gal either; each gal showing an appreciation of pussy second only to mine. Sativa particularly liked licking Lela's ass, perhaps the gal had a great dinner the night before, while rubbing her pussy. The use of the pearls (looked like fake pearls too) was hot but I remember a day when a "pearl necklace" referred to something erotic rather than a stream of population pudding gracing a lady's neck. There was also a lot of kissing before the toys came into play, the light score in the deep background rather than too heavy, just enough to invoke the mood but not get in the way of the vocals offered up by the gals. The gals were energetic and active too, adding to the chemistry of the situation to make it a winner for me. Yeah!

Scene Five: Gianna, perhaps the best lady in porn possessing a curvy body and knowing how to use it to full effect, was up last with also curvy Velicity Von on the couch. I expected nothing short of true heat here and the playful pair was up to speed in terms of offering up the kind of scene they are best at; pouncing on each other, using all means necessary at their disposal to get each other off. For them, it seemed less like a performance and more of an opportunity to publicly display a great deal of affection while serving up some fine sexual misbehavior. The major difference between this scene and the others was the relative lack of toys needed to achieve the effect too; the gals preferring to eat each other out and savor the moment in a way that toys would not accomplish. It was a great way to end the program although I wish the scene lasted a lot longer; it striking me as the shortest of the bunch. Whew!

Summary: Girls Love Girls 3 by director Jonni Darkko for Evil Angel was not the longest, most all-encompassing, multi-disc set provided by the man but I have to admit that four of the five scenes were very appealing to me. The sparse nature of the extras (only one worth mentioning repeatedly, albeit a good one) and the limits of a full frame offering in a day & age when virtually everyone else is moving to anamorphic widescreen combined with a single scene of modest value to make this one worthy of being Recommended (instead of the next step up) but there was a lot of lesbian love being displayed that will prove the sexual athleticism alone shown by others to be weak by comparison. In short, Girls Love Girls 3, like Girls Love Girls 2 before it, will work for almost all fans of the lesbian genre repeatedly so give it a look to see what I mean.
