Extras: My favorite extra was the 47:55 minute long Behind the Scenes feature that spent a lot of time with the ladies. Alexis Texas went first but all the ladies were provided a chance to shine in various states of undress, some deleted footage from the sex scenes included for good measure. There was also a bunch of trailers, a photogallery/slide show, and spam but the BTS clearly ruled the day given the strength of the performers.

Audio/Video Quality: Ass Appeal 6 was presented in a pleasing anamorphic widescreen color with an aspect ratio of about 1.78:1 as shot by director Van Styles for Hustler Video using the SD MPEG-2 codec one would expect of the production. The lighting was solid and that minimized the grain, video noise, and shadows in most cases; all factors in the appearance of the technical values used to enhance the action. The abundance of close up shots was a bit problematic for me at times but thankfully, a variety of other shots was also employed to balance things out. The composition of the shots proved that industry veteran Van has come a long way since his initial releases elsewhere, reminding me of his heated works for Vouyer and Video Team taken up a notch, his production skills honed at numerous companies he has worked at in recent years. There were still some minor rough edges in evidence but I can see improvement in these recent works and I look forward to seeing how his productions fare as he directs for numerous companies. The video bitrate varied a lot too but generally stayed above the mid 4 Mbps, moving into the 7 Mbps range on occasion (so no aliasing, compression artifacts, or macro-blocking was noticed). To sum it up; the movie looked as good as any of the company's recent releases, albeit some of the scenes showing a little less chemistry and energy due to the dynamic of the pairings. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in 192 Kbps) but the vocals were way too low and there was no separation between the channels in that regard (typical for a gonzo effort on separation but not the volume).

Body of Review: Van Styles is one of those directors that gets around, working for a number of companies such as Hustler Video rather than sticking to just one. This allows him to experience a lot more of the industry than some of the "kept" directors and production assistants, the exposure doing him a world of good in seeing different techniques and practices. His latest release to make it my way is Ass Appeal 6, one of the Hustler Hardline series that some of you find among their best titles, the five scenes all containing very appealing ladies with great booties. When you see a cast list contain women like Brianna Love, Alexis Texas, Micah Moore, and others, you know that not all the scenes will have anal in them but they will still be pretty sweet to watch, such being the case here from what I could tell. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Alexis Texas, the boot-licious Texan blond featured on the front cover, was up first in a scene with slacker Mark Ashley on the couch. He was tapped out on the couch and she hovered around him going over stuff from her yellow legal pad as the director made some comments. The pad had some of the finest suggestions of recent memory on it (to fuck her since she had a big ass) and the playful vixen was soon teasing the camera repeatedly with an emphasis on her ass cheeks. In all, it was a decent cap to the show but not her best work of the year, the entire movie giving me that impression.

Summary: Ass Appeal 6 by director Van Styles for Hustler Video was actually a pretty reliable stroke flick for raincoaters and fans of the lady alike, providing five performances worth checking out repeatedly and using some of the ladies I've found to be especially appealing. The down side was that there really wasn't a lot of pushing of their limits and they seemed to be performing most of the time rather than genuinely getting off, the Hustler Hardline dynamic really not catered to as I expected it should be but easily enough to merit a rating of Recommended thanks to the skill of director Styles. In short, Ass Appeal 6 will appeal to ass lovers more than a little bit and any fans of the ladies should consider the performances pretty warm (worthy of your money) if not off the charts hot.
