Extras: The best extra will be the 38:53 minute long bonus scene between Millan Blu and Prince Yashua. There was a lot of energy between them though the chemistry fell short most of the time (she had that look in her eyes showing boredom). Audio/Video Quality: Dynamic Booty #3 was presented in a 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen color offering as shot by director Alexander Devoe for distribution by Jules Jordan Video using the MPEG-2 codec favored by standard definition releases. I tend to be one of the harshest critics online when it comes to technical matters so it pleased me to point out that this volume of the series looked pretty decent compared to much of his previous works observed by me, not a stark contrast by any means but certainly showing some improvement with time. There was still more grain than I prefer to see and the picture itself seemed kind of blurry on occasion, almost as if various filters were used to limit the visual flaws of the ladies, much like some of Alex's works at WCP where he directed most of his titles before this, yet there seemed to be less use of it (almost as if he caught on since my last look at his material last year). Alex has gone on record as stating he prefers to shoot in the Cineframe mode rather than video mode when shooting scenes as his preference is for the softer film-like appearance it provides, though my taste lies the other way since the softer look tends to look crappier on HD televisions like those high end consumers tend to own. Still, there was a lot of creative use of the visual effects much like John Leslie provides these days so if you're into that over straightforward gonzo visuals, you may enjoy it more than I did. There did not appear to be a lot of edge enhancement or compression artifacts but the video noise (like the shimmer on some of the fishnets) and the color saturation due to low lighting impacted the look of the show more than the use of the aforementioned Cineframe choice. The camera angles employed showed the ladies with an emphasis on their asses and the color temperatures of the cameras were better set this time. The audio was a sparse 2.0 Dolby Digital (using the standard 192 Kbps bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate) with some music and vocals that were all over the place; probably the area in biggest need of attention. There were times when I was certain that the whispered voices were not supposed to be heard and other times when I'm sure they were important elements of a scene, perhaps indicative of an aspect that Alex will address in later movies better than this.

Body of Review: Alexander Devoe is a talented black director working under a deal with Jules Jordan Video these days, much like Brian Pumper releases titles under Evil Angel now that Justin Slayer has moved on. I know it's popular to suggest that distribution powerhouses like these two only keep a single director of color onboard to ease up the claims of racial discrimination or they are the "tokens" but truth be told, I have found some of their work to be not only equal to, but superior to some of their colleagues, albeit on a limited basis. Such claims aren't fair unless backed by facts, few of which have been forthcoming from credible sources, and I think it's fair to review titles on their merits rather than spurious claims of the haters. Given that Alexander and I don't always see eye to eye regarding what he attempts to do (or at least how successful he is at doing so), I decided it would be fair to let others pick up his titles for awhile, perhaps helping me recharge my batteries for what he has to offer and allowing him to advance to where he shoots better porn. The first release I picked up since this self imposed hiatus is Dynamic Booty #3: Special Edition Set, the sequel to Dynamic Booty 2 that I reviewed almost exactly a year ago. In the interim, Alexander has certainly improved though this is true for the rest of the directors at JJV as well, the relative differences relatively minor in the bigger picture of things. The movie is a set of five lengthy gonzo scenes full of tease and lots of booty shots, including a sixth bonus scene as well as some other solid extras worth checking out. As a booty fan myself, I couldn't dismiss this one as another generic run of the mill release, the casting of the ladies in line with his works of the past. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Aliana Love, an exotic little hotty as seen on the front DVD cover, was up next in her sexy black linger (also seen on the cover) as she woke up on a pool table. Summary: Dynamic Booty #3 by director Alexander Devoe for Jules Jordan Video might not have been his best work to date but aside from some minor editing and camera work issues that arose, the selection of ladies was well made and the tricks they engaged in provided some solid strokability, replay value, and fuck for the buck value so I rated it as Recommended. In short, fans of big booty loving should find a lot to appreciate with Dynamic Booty #3: Special Edition Set just as they did with Dynamic Booty 2 even if it wasn't the director's best work to date. It showed a better focus on technical values and while the "movie run time" was substantially exaggerated on the box cover (including the extras, or at least some of them), I could not deny the man earns his keep at JJV with projects like this one.
