Extras: The first disc of the double disc set had some trailers, and a photogallery but the best extra was easily the 23:47 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Nate Liquor. The ladies were shown getting ready for their scenes, in various states of undress, and generally having a good time so fans of the cast might really want to take some time and watch this one. Mike had plenty to say and it was all in good fun, the production crew (including the lighting guy Frady) joining in on the good times but there was definitely a lot of amusing antics with lots of naked chicks adding some stroke value. The second disc had a similar set of extras (notice the spelling of "extras") with a 20:53 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Nate Liquor showing how Mike scripts his scenes, the ladies providing a lot of fun as they reacted to his antics (and the crew wondering just how weird the director was). I found it to be a nice addition too with decent quantities of nudity and extra sex footage. The lengthy photogallery and set of trailers were okay too but I would have preferred something more this time, not least of which would have been some of those strip tease dances Mike often provides.

Audio/Video Quality: Girlvana 4 was presented in a visually appealing anamorphic widescreen color using an aspect ratio of 1.78:1 as shot by director Mike Quasar for Zero Tolerance using the MPEG-2 codec employed by standard definition releases. The lighting was strong, eliminating the shadows and grain like most of Mike's works in the past, with enough variation to add some texture in a few of the eight scenes. The grain was minimal as was the video noise and I got the impression that Mike spent plenty of time to use the camera angles to enhance the looks of the nicely made up ladies. It was far from perfect but this did enhance the replay value for me as it showed more care than usual. The bitrate tended to hover around the mid 4.1 Mbps area most of the time I paid any attention to it (but the numbers alone do not tell the whole story in this regard, this being a common fallacy my tech head buddies don't always understand). The composition of the scenes enhanced the look of the ladies, each of them used to softer lighting in recent scenes but not needing it for the purposes of this release. The sole audio track was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English using the standard 192 Kbps rate using a 48 kHz sampling rate most titles are mastered with, the aural experience fairly limited due to the nature of the gonzo shoot (there was no secondary track in Spanish this time thankfully enough). There was no separation between the channels and the dynamic range was as truncated as ever, standard gonzo audio being okay for most consumers.

Body of Review: Mike Quasar gets a few chances a year at Zero Tolerance to go all out and provide the kind of hugely popular double disc sets that a couple of other companies are better known for. This kind of fuck for the buck really provides fans with what they have repeatedly asked for, and Mike is one of the few in the industry able to provide as much quality as quantity when he is given the chance. One of these major efforts that recently came out was Girlvana 4, the sequel to Girlvana 3 that was nominated for so many awards last year. Providing two full discs of lesbian scenes starring some of the hottest twat around, the theme this time was about school girls, the first disc focusing on private school debutantes and their staffers while the second disc showed the bad girls associated with reform schools, each catering to a select niche but always shot with heated lesbian antics in mind. The cover said it like this: "2 Discs of scintillating sex as Private School Girls vs. Reform School Girls in this - the latest installment of the Award Winning Girlvana series. Whether you're a fan of the bad girl or the soft and sweet teacher's pet, this collection of sex-starved co-eds will get your gonads going. With a complete arsenal of toys, titties, twats and tongues, this All-Girl Classic is not to be missed. Warning: If you suffer from a heart condition, please consult your physician as a ride on this all pink pleasure parade my leave you short of breath!" Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms was used nor was any genetic juice unleashed for those still interested:

Scene One: Dakota Brookes, Ryan Keely, and Devi Emmerson, were up first in the expansive indoor swimming pool indicative of a large private school for wealthy girls. Ryan and Devi seemed to have the most chemistry together but even after their swimming lesson, their all natural forms were presented in such a way that their tenderness shined, Dakota wanting in to join them as much as I did. I prefer curvier gals as a general rule of thumb but so many of you appreciate the flavor of the week type (and youthful, ultra lean hotties) that I suspect the oral they gave each other, combined with the digital insertion aspects of the scene, will satiate you for awhile, the nearly half hour romp more erotic than truly passionate for me. Still, the lack of genetic juice aside, it was a solid opener to forecast the rest of the movie.

Scene Two: Jenny Hendrix, a sexy little blond with a hot ass (seen on the far right hand side of the cover), was up next as a student getting some special attention from far older Amber Lynn, the pair ending up in a fancy living room after a brief meeting in the office. Amber as the lesbian cougar was interesting though I haven't really found her sexually attractive in a very long time, Jenny seeming a bit put off by the demanding bitch as she followed her orders. Jenny losing her clothes to reveal some purple undies was nice, especially when she was bent over, that beautifully fleshy ass of hers elevating the heat of the scene all by itself. Both gals did some licking and Amber was soon wearing a jelly strap on dildo (the humorous moment of her being fitted by the crew was a great BTS moment you should look for in the extras section). The acting was not convincing with regard to the chemistry they supposedly shared but Jenny showed she was up to the task, actively riding the toy while Amber's strength was in giving head more than receiving it.

Scene Three: Kelly Skyline and Nikki Rhodes were up next on a blanket outside in a scene shot on 4/2/2008. Rather than study, the pair relied on test answers given them by text message, the gals now freeing up their spare time to have a bit of sexual action in bed instead. This scene differed from the last one in how gingerly they did each other, no dominating MILF involved to overwhelm the action as they progressed from their stated comfort zone of kissing to some full fledged contact involving fingers, tongues, and sweet caresses. It would be a mistake to confuse the lack of aggressive passion as a weakness here too, the dynamic of the ladies providing substantially more erotic stroke value for those of you that enjoy youthful themes handled much more convincingly than average (unless you prefer lipstick lesbian play that is so much easier to find). Their playful demeanors added to the warmth displayed, even the rimming seemingly done in a tender manner. Yum!

Scene Four: Aubrey Addams, Karlie Montana, Tori Black, and Crissy Moon, were up last on the first disc, in a veritable lesbian orgy where the four where watched by some of their classmates by the admittedly silly placement of the lights used to illuminate the porn scene in the rumpus room (the pool table and couch providing the perfect location for any sexual trysts that might just happen spontaneously). Aubrey was the focal point of attention early on, her initiation into the group especially warm as she was made to lick Karlie and then the others. Aubrey was tiny compared to them and her round rump was delicious as the packs of hotties were still in their sexy lingerie. The Truth or Dare contest soon devolved into a Dare contest since "we're all going to lie anyway" and while no toys came into play, this one also seemed a naturally appealing bit of work thanks to the oral and caressing nature of the ladies, not forced to do anything they weren't into. I would have enjoyed seeing the background gals join in and a bit more enthusiastic passion deployed but like the previous scene, it was a pretty nice bit of work with serious replay value if you aren't into lesbian extreme queens putting on a show.

Scene Five: Roxy DeVille (second gal from the left side standing) and Joanna Angel, were up next as the bad reform school gals that were more interested in drinking and drugs ("entrepreneurial spirit") than actually studying, Roxy pointing out that Joanna was the "best study partner ever" as they engaged in making out "with beer breath" on the couch. I like both of them and while Roxy was the more playful of the pair here, the dynamic showed them to be perfect for the theme of the second disc (reform school girls). They enjoyed feeling each other up as much as kissing, the titty play leading to a lot of box munching and ass worship before the toys came out to plunder Joanna's perfect pucker. The emphasis this time was on fingering though, the comedy of the "baby gape" clever but the genuine chemistry and passion between them making this a great starting scene for the second disc. Whew!

Scene Six: Lisa Ann (the brunette sitting on the middle of the cover), playing the MILF teacher that used her position to coerce her students to have sex with her, was up next as she singled out sweet Ann Marie Rios to become her latest conquest. These two gals are really well suited to work together and Ann was surprisingly aggressive here even though Lisa was in charge the whole time, some spanking on the teacher's desk with a ruler providing extra stroke value as Ann topped from the bottom (a very reddened bottom by the time they were finished). The extensive titty play and passionate kissing was another step forward in the movie's dynamic, certainly better than the similar scene on the first disc as this pair proved to be into each other a whole lot more. Ann wanted Lisa as much as Lisa wanted Ann, the younger gal nearly managing to turn the tables on her mentor. There were no toys and the face sitting gave me chills, both gals giving as well as they received throughout the heated little romp. Yes!

Scene Seven: Sasha Grey (first brunette sitting down on the cover's left side) and Anabelle Lee were up next having discussed the way things worked regarding the upcoming test. Sasha is renowned for her work with cock more than her intimate pairings with other women so I was curious to see how she would fare here as the ladies made out on the couch. Frankly, Annabelle brought little enthusiasm to the scene and it weakened how Sasha responded to her, neither lady going beyond the kind of mechanical fucking some might refer to as "gay for pay". They kissed, ate each other out, and pawed each other endlessly but Annabelle would look at the camera slyly (as if no one was watching her) and they appeared to just go through the motions too much for my tastes. Fans of toys might appreciate Sasha using a hot pink anal toy on Annabelle as the redhead rubbed her clitoris but when gals are not into the action, it shows so this was the weakest of the batch for both discs.

Scene Eight: Alexis Texas (bent over on the right hand side of the cover), Renae "J-Ho" Cruz, and Aiden Starr were up last as they moved from the shower area to the locker room in an attempt to get off. Alexis was the new gal, much like Aubrey was in the first disc, but she was more up to the challenge of her rivals as she embraced their slightly rough treatment. Aiden was in charge of the scene most of the time, tossing larger Alexis about as Renae honed in to get some action on the periphery, the kissing, spanking, and fingering all providing a major upgrade from the previous scene. Especially heated was the face sitting by Alexis on Aiden but all the rimming added stroke value for me and each contributed to the fun that was displayed. This scene also had a number of uncredited ladies in the background, a few missed opportunities but a few of them thinking it was okay to look straight at the camera too. In all, it was a seriously warm way to end the movie and each of the gals earned some stroke value as far as I was concerned.

Summary: Girlvana 4 by director Mike Quasar for Zero Tolerance was one of my favorite lesbian shows of the year, surpassing flagship titles by other companies with ease even in this standard definition version. The amount of lesbian fuck for the buck was very high and despite a few minor issues I had with a couple of scenes, there was almost four hours of action in the movie itself, the two behind the scenes features making things all that much better. Given the quality of the entire double disc package then, I figured this was clearly worthy of being Highly Recommended for any of you that like the lesbian type of porno with all the trimmings, no specific formula embraced in an effort to provide better diversity than past volumes in the series. In short, Girlvana 4 was even better than Girlvana 3 and I will try to let you know just how much of an upgrade the high definition blu-ray version is by comparison but you simply can't go wrong with this set.
