Audio/Video Quality: Jack's Teen America #22 was presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Robby D. for Digital Playground using the MPEG-2 codec in the standard definition release with a 480 resolution. The lighting was decent here, about as good as expected given this was Robby's standard type of gonzo, limiting the amounts of grain and video noise. While I generally prefer stronger lighting in my gonzo porn, Robby has a way of showing it all with less light, the tint of the colors only slightly off as a result. The way the scenes were shot and edited was markedly similar in the scenes, though the composition of the angles was changed up a bit depending on the scene in question; providing a variety of styles to enjoy. The composition of the shots and the editing enhanced the look of the ladies more than a little bit too, proving what this critic has to say about the production team led by Robby (thankfully, talented Nick P. was credited as editor, Brah Bones as Production Manager, etc.). The DVD mastering showed no obvious compression artifacts (the bitrate varying but often staying around the 6.3 Mbps range when I paid attention) but this was not his clearest effort to date. This one didn't look quite as polished as his more recent titles but a quick look at the production date gave me the impression that this was shot quite a while back and looked much like the titles shot concurrently. The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English (using an audio bitrate of 448 Kbps and the usual 48 kHz sampling rate) with a minimalist leaning similar to the rest of the Jack series, with the vocals always dominating the audio track as I like it. While there wasn't much separation between the channels though the ladies were almost always clearly heard and their moans added to the enjoyment of the show for those keeping track.

Body of Review: Robby D. is one of the busiest guys directing in the porn industry, carrying the vast majority of titles released by Digital Playground on his proverbial shoulders in one way or another. One of his best series in the past has been the Teen America titles that provided a fictional beauty contest involving a variety of ladies all trying to get a boost in their quest to win via having sex with the sound engineer's, the latest volume coming out next month with Jack's Teen America #22. Given this one will come out before Christmas, it seemed quite appropriate that it starred some of the best ladies in the business at this writing, from performer of the year Sasha Grey, to former contract hotty (and current Xcritic blogger) Adrianna Lynn (Adrenalynn), to booty queen Jenny Hendrix and German anal queen Annette Schwarz, to the ever popular Teagan Presley. It's been six months since Teen America 21 came out and all the fun was still intact, this star studded escapade surely designed to be a heavy hitter for the holiday season.
