Extras: The extras were well done here with a bunch of material fans will appreciate starting with several Behind the Scenes features on the show. The first one was aptly named Behind the Scenes Part 1 (31:24 minutes), the second called Behind the Scenes Part 2 (26:24 minutes), the third labeled Behind the Scenes Part 3 (22:33 minutes), the fourth as Director/Producer Video Travelogue (18:30 minutes), and the fifth called Lights! Camera! On Set Action! (16:25 minutes). There was no audio commentary as originally believed but the creative team of Jeff Mullen and David Scott had a lot of screen time to show how they crafted the show using their standard method that pays tribute to the subject of the parody rather than just makes fun of it as others in the field have tried. There was less amusing anecdotes provided in the various features this time, a lot of photogallery material, some footage of Jeff in charge of the production, the cast learning their lines, and a number of comments that discussed the series as a whole as much as this volume in particular. There were also trailers to shows like Not the Bradys XXX, Not Bewitched XXX, Britney Rears #3, and Britney Rears #4, as well as a slide show.

Audio/Video Quality: Not the Bradys XXX: Marcia Marcia Marcia was presented in an anamorphic widescreen color with an aspect ratio of 1.78:1 as shot by director Will Ryder for X-Play (as distributed by Hustler Video) in the MPEG-2 codec (for the standard definition version using 480i resolution). The movie closely mimicked the design of the color years of the mainstream show nicely, not quite mirroring it but stylishly maintaining the parody angle. The "look" of the clothing, settings, and numerous props used to instill the feel of the times from the show worked so well thanks to the contribution of Art Director Scott David, the quieter partner at the company but every much as important as the jovial Jeff Mullen. The camera angles flattered the ladies in almost all cases, the editing assisting in contemporizing the sexual scenes while allowing the plot points to cater to the way the television show looked (or at least how I remembered it looking when I watched it). On a technical level, the lighting was good but the bitrate hovered around the 2.4 Mbps area, making me long for a high definition version upgrade with fewer compression artifacts and higher resolution (this being a compliment because not many porn flicks look better under the magnifying glass of high def) because stuffing so much footage on a single DVD did result in macroblocks, artifacts, and grain I wasn't really happy with this time. The audio was presented in the standard 2.0 Dolby Digital English with a 192 Kbps. The vocals were slightly hollow but the strength of the audio track was again with the music, thanks to Jeff, Big Richard Black, Tina Tina, and others.

Body of Review: Will Ryder is one of my favorite people in the porn industry these days, frequently outgunning his competition using creativity instead of throwing money at his projects, the best of which have been comedic parodies of contemporary pop musicians or sitcoms I enjoyed decades ago. While the economic picture is grim for many of us these days, Will's work at X-Play eschews negativity in favor of light, happy messages that people can identify with, complete with award winning casts guaranteed to boost sales of his projects distributed by Hustler Video. The latest such project is the long awaited Not the Bradys XXX: Marcia Marcia Marcia, the sequel to last year's Not the Bradys XXX that still outsells many high end releases. With a few casting changes, most notably replacing Hillary Scott with lovely Teagan Presley and Leah Luv with Kacey Jordan, the creative team led by Ryder made another classy homage to the original television show, this time focusing on Marcia's (Teagan) devotion to her pop music idol Danny Jones (Evan Stone). The spoof was technically better than the first volume and had a lot to like despite some minor rough edges, the sex focusing more on the youthful antics of the "kids" than the adults this time (though Gina Lynn and Sienna West smoked the screen with their fiery performances). Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Teagan Presley, the cute gal featured on the upper left hand corner of the cover, was up first in a solo masturbation scene on her bed. Teagan had the dreamy star struck look Maureen McCormick had in the original version (this movie being something of a tribute to two episodes; Meet Davy Jones and Amateur Nite) and looked exceptionally fitter for the part than Hillary had last year, using her hands and a blue vibrator to unleash her juices in the fairly short but strokable scene. Scene Two: Gina Lynn, the curvy blond starlet, was up next in a neon dress that perfectly fit the time of the movie, Kris Slater as "Greg" earning a record deal by doing everything she said. Scene Three: Aurora Snow, the perennial porn version of "Jan" (as seen on the middle of the left hand side of the cover), was up next in a lesbian scene with sultry babe Alexis Love, the pair excited by a letter supposedly written by Marcia that left nothing to the imagination sexually. Aurora was all wet down there and Alexis asked if she wanted to experiment some more, their kissing leading them to pleasure each other orally, sucking face, titties, and crotches before some limited dildo play provided penetrative purpose that both seemed to appreciate (Alexis taking the toy inside herself before the scene split off into a separate, but related, scene). It was getting warm when the scene moved to include lame Scotty Lyons.

Scene Four (actually 3.1): Aurora Snow, Alexis Love, and Scotty Lyons, then went at it with each other, Scotty asking to stay when he barged in on them. Summary: Not the Bradys XXX: Marcia Marcia Marcia by director Will Ryder for X-Play (as distributed by Hustler Video) was a lot of fun and should sell like crazy given the popularity of the concept. The casting, the writing, and the technical values all provided ample reasons to impress newcomers to porn that this was not just another splooge-fest offering in the gonzo realm that dominates the market but a title you can share with that someone special and not feel nearly as embarrassed as you might otherwise. The levels of fuck for the buck, solid extras, and sweet casting all resulted in my rating the show as Highly Recommended. I watched it three times, once with someone that initially proclaimed she "hated porn" yet found the movie a lot better than expected (telling me she would watch "anything" released by the same guys if this was the kind of show it would be), and it grew on me with repeated viewings so I can attest to the replay value as superior even if the sex itself was not the sexual athletic style so often displayed by the gonzo companies. In short, Not the Bradys XXX: Marcia Marcia Marcia might not have been as much of a hit as Not the Bradys XXX for me (sequels rarely offer a viewer the surprise factor of the original even when done this well) but I suspect the director and his partner will be laughing all the way to the bank given the way this one shined compared to other parody efforts (and I was more than happy to see two of the "Apes", Donny Long and Kurt Lockwood, not seen in the movie outside of some fun poking at them). Good work!
