Audio/Video Quality: Jack's POV 13 was presented in the usual 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Robby D. for Digital Playground using the MPEG-2 codec with the bitrate hovering in the upper 5.3 Mbps when I paid any attention to the 480i resolution offering. The lighting was decent in most scenes as expected, Stoya glowing in her scene as one might expect of Xcritic's New Starlet of the Year. Robby's point of view shooting has always been pretty good but without the best editing, the scenes suffered at times, making me thankful that Nick P. was in charge of editing duties this time. The fleshtones were accurate, the amount of distracting video noise or other elements appeared to be negligible, and the POV (point of view) camera angle was employed in every scene to allow the viewer the opportunity to fantasize about themselves in the place of the male performers. The audio was presented in the usual 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround (in 384 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) but outside of the introductory commercial for the process, there appeared to be a little separation in the vocal tracks and the music wasn't a big issue here so you won't be showcasing your new home theatre with this one but it gave me the idea that someone touched it up a bit too.

Body of Review: Robby D. is one of the few directors in porn that is capable of anything due to his creative insight and experience, usually finding himself limited out of the sheer volume of projects he shoots for Digital Playground more than anything else. I've been a fan of his Handheld Pictures titles for awhile and still miss his comedy features but there is something to be said for what he brings to the point of view gonzo genre as well. While few fans are going to suggest his POV work is on the same level as Mike John or Jules Jordan, he still manages to offer something off the beaten path in his projects of this nature, something I saw in the upcoming Jack's POV 13 that will be released next month. The extras were minimal and the technical aspects about what I expected but the raw energy and enthusiasm were such that you probably won't notice until seeing it a number of times.
